The sound of footsteps approaching caught ’s attention. Uriah’s eyes weren’t the same blood red that they were moments ago, but the pained look on his face made ’s hurt even greater.
“We should leave,” said Fen, his hand on ’s back. “Regroup.”
“Before Luna rises, preferably,” added Magnus.
“No,” finally said, his necklace glowing brighter than ever before. “We should stay and finish the fight.” When Uriah reached him, all the vampire could do was pull him into a hug and hold him.
Luna’s body heaved and rolled over, a low groan coming from the back of her throat.
“Against an immortal werewolf?” asked Fen.
“What does immortal mean, anyway? Pru’s dead,” Uriah blubbered. “He was immortal, too.”
Magnus cleared his throat. “No offense, , but what exactly do you think you can do to stop her?”
“ Whatever it takes, ” said as he pulled away from his vampire’s embrace, his attention turning to the open beaker still in his hand.
“ Whatever it takes ,” Uriah said with a solemn nod.
“, no!” Quinn shouted, but he was too late.
