Chapter Five #2

Compared to how he’d been just an hour ago, or even at the tavern, Logan would let his mate boss him during sex for the rest of their lives. This was the real Nick, no pain, no hunger, just who he truly was under everything. He should’ve never gone through that bullshit in the first place.

Logan started to move, shallow thrusts at first, working Nick open. His hands spread across his mate’s lower back, holding him down so he couldn’t pull away. Not that he wanted to. Nick bucked back, every stroke hitting deep. He moaned like it hurt and then did it again, greedier every time.

Logan punched his hips forward, driving in hard, and Nick lost his damn mind. His body clamped down on Logan’s cock, milking him, making it almost impossible not to come in his tight heat.

“Christ, you feel good. So fucking good.”

Nick was loud, messy, writhing underneath him. Logan loved every second. His mate’s hair was wild, sticking to his forehead, his skin slick with sweat. Nick was wrecked, and Logan was the one doing it to him.

Wanting him wrecked, Logan drove his cock in deeper, faster. He never wanted Nick to ever forget who he belonged to.

“Harder,” Nick panted, shoving back on Logan’s prick like he was trying to prove a point. “Yeah, yeah. Just like that.”

Logan’s focus lowered to where they were connected, watching his cock stretch Nick wide in the most beautiful sight he’d ever seen.

His balls slapped against Nick with every stroke.

The smell of sex clung to the air, thick and wild, and his wolf couldn’t stop drawing in deep lungfuls of that most amazing smell.

“You’re perfect like this.” Logan gripped the back of his mate’s neck. “Look at you, begging for my cock.”

The prettiest sounds spilled out of Nick with every thrust. Logan reached around, fisted his mate’s cock, and started jerking him in time with every movement. His mate nearly sobbed, grinding into Logan’s fist, greedy and helpless.

“Come for me, Nick. Show me how bad you want it.”

Nick jerked, his muscles tensing. “Can’t. Need…”

“You need what?” Logan caressed his mate’s neck, his fingers trailing over sweat-slicked skin. “Anything your heart desires, I’ll give you.”

And he meant it. Not just during sex. Logan’s entire world had shrunk down to the small vampire beneath him. Fate had chosen Nick as his mate, and Logan’s only priority now was to keep him safe and happy.

And well fed.

“Need you to bite me.”

That nearly sent Logan over the edge. He leaned forward, his lips grazing where neck met shoulder. Nick’s skin was hot, flushed, tasting of sweat and his own wild, hungry need. Logan’s mouth closed over the spot, his teeth barely scraping.

“Beg for it, baby.”

Nick whimpered, arms trembling. “Logan. Want it. Need it. Please, fuck, please…”

How could he deny the way his mate begged so prettily? Logan bit down, hard enough to claim. Canines embedded into tender flesh, his wolf howled at the sensation. The pulse beneath his teeth hammered as wild as his own.

A rush hit Logan, something raw and primal. He felt the thrum of his mate’s heart sync with his own, felt his entire future align with Nick’s.

Then, Nick’s silvery life ribbon, a swirl of mist, curled from under him. Fascinated, Logan couldn’t look away, watching as a blue one emerged from his own. They drifted upward, twisted in on each other, and then they shot into their chests. Not pain, just heat, like a sunburst behind his ribs.

“I felt it,” Nick cried out. “I feel you, Logan.” His cock jerked in Logan’s fist, shooting hot against the sheets. Nick’s body clamped down, milking Logan’s shaft. A primal roar ripped from deep inside him.

There was nothing like it. No high, no drug, no wild night in the woods could ever come close.

After extracting his canines, Logan collapsed over Nick, his arms shaking. His mate panted, wrung out, trembling under him. He licked the wound closed, soothing it, and held Nick tight.

For a long minute, it was just breathing, skin to skin, the two of them wrecked and tangled together.

Nick twisted under Logan, trying to catch his breath. “What just happened?” he managed, his voice hoarse but content.

Logan nuzzled into the mess of Nick’s hair, not ready to let him go. “We’re bonded mates.”

Nick laughed, a raspy sound. “Did you see colors, or is that just me?”

“Yeah. Saw them.” Logan slid out of his mate, slowly, not letting go until he had to, and then he rolled them onto their sides, spooning him close. “Silver and blue. They were our life ribbons sealing our souls.”

Nick hummed, wriggling back against Logan. His mate was messy, his legs sticky with cum, his hair a disaster, the bite mark already blooming at the juncture of his neck and shoulder. Logan licked it, and Nick shivered.

“You hungry?” Logan asked. “Probably should get you water, too.”

Nick shook his head. “Just wanna lie in your arms for as long as possible.”

Logan wrapped Nick up, his arms around his mate’s chest, his hand splayed over the guy’s heart. Nick covered Logan’s hand with his, threading their fingers together.

As Logan breathed him in, he stroked the inside of Nick’s wrist with his thumb, still riding the high from claiming his mate.

It couldn’t last long. Not when Zeppelin had ordered him home. “We have to head to the pack house.” Logan rubbed his nose over Nick’s bare shoulder. “Alpha ordered us there.”

Before today, Nick knew nothing of their world. Logan was surprised Nick hadn’t asked him about the bite or freak out that their souls were merged. Caught up in the moment, he hadn’t explained anything to Nick.

“Pack,” Nick said, as if he was tasting the word. “I’m assuming that has something to do with wolves.”

“Yes.” Logan rested his chin on Nick’s shoulder, needing the closeness but also watching for signs of a breakdown, of reality setting in now that they could think straight. “I’m a wolf shifter, Nick.”

His mate remained quiet for so long Logan braced himself for the fallout.

“Cool.” Nick gently stroked his arm.

“Cool?” For some reason, Logan didn’t trust that response. There was no way Nick had accepted what happened, what Logan was, that calmly.

When his mate tried to turn to face him, Logan lifted his arm then settled them back around him.

“Under normal circumstances, I probably would’ve freaked out.” Nick traced a finger over Logan’s left pec. “I’ve suffered my entire life, Logan. You’re aware of the fact.”

Nodding, he wondered where Nick was going with this. “You were starving.”

“If I hadn’t met you, I still would be,” he said, his finger now tracing Logan’s collarbone.

“You finally gave me the answer I’d been searching for.

You didn’t try to kill me when I attacked you, and you helped me face who I truly was.

” Nick’s gaze lifted to his. “You being a wolf, and our souls merging, doesn’t seem so crazy when I’m finally at peace. ”

Logan pressed his lips to Nick’s forehead, vowing to protect his mate’s newfound peace with his life.
