CHAPTER TWO — STEPHANIE
It's been a day since I had Philip over and we had insanely loud sex right below David. I was expecting David to either barge in at the time, or at the very least bring it up sometime the next morning, but he didn't.
And he didn't bring it up the next evening either. Now it's been a full day, and I've heard nothing from him. Crickets. I'm starting to worry.
If anything, this might be worse. Does he just not care at all? I know that can't be it, though, because even if he didn't care, what I did was rude. I mean, even if he didn't like me or anything, I would've been disrupting his sleep.
And so, anyone in his situation probably would've said something, right? The fact that he's not saying anything must mean that he cares, right? I sigh.
The fact that I'm even having this discussion with myself is the entire problem. Instead of trying to play games with David, what I need to do is actually stop caring. And what better way to do that than to start caring about someone else who's also emotionally unavailable? I chuckle.
Is it weird to be this self-aware while continuing to do the exact same things? I don't know.
I mean, what am I supposed to do, date an emotionally available man? I would, except I'm not attracted to them.
What are you up to tonight? I text Philip.
And besides, it's not like Philip is exactly emotionally unavailable. He's actually very emotionally intelligent. He's just a bit of a fuckboy. And there's totally a difference between the two, right?
My phone pings. The burst of giddiness I feel surprises me.
Destroying your perfect little body, the message reads.
Oh my God.
I blush. I'm in class right now.
I heart his message and put my phone down, smiling.
