Chapter 10

Savannah

W e’re all sitting at the massive table in the dining room back at Salvation.

I’m practically vibrating with so many different emotions and feelings rushing through me.

Their combined smells have my body working on overdrive. When we got back home, Duchess had to drag me up to my room and demanded I use scent-blocking panties before I made every Alpha in this place go into a rut.

As much as I want to get lost in a sea of limbs with my new pack, I don’t want to cause any issues with my bestie. So I agreed.

Not sure if it’s doing much to help.

I’ve never been this damn turned on in my life. I almost dry humped Caleb in the limo, but Duchess pulled me off him.

Now, we’re all sitting here, about to have a conversation I don’t want to have. However, it needs to be done.

“Soooo,” I say, tapping my fingers on the table, looking over at Duchess. “They know what you do?”

She nods. “Yes. Caleb is very big on not keeping secrets from his pack. When he came clean about what he does for a living, he also came clean about me. Of course, it was my blessing and only after I knew they could be trusted.”

“You had to come clean about being a cop?” I raise a brow at Caleb. “Also, I find it really weird that you're a cop, but also close with your mafia boss sister.” I snort.

Caleb grins. He’s so sexy, it’s not even fair. And he’s mine! My Alpha. My Alphas. My pack. Holy fucking shit balls.

I’m gonna start losing my mind, more than I already have in a second.

I slayed a monster and got a pack all in one night. Best fucking night ever!

“I’m a cop.” Caleb leans forward, his grin growing. “But, I’m not your typical cop.”

“Okay, so we’re doing this.” Walker nods. “Yup, let’s tell the complete stranger about all our secrets, cool.”

“Who shit in your corn flakes?” Duchess asks. “You just found your scent matched Omega, and you're acting like a spoiled brat.”

I bite my lower lip, trying to smother my grin as Walker frowns, looking over at me.. “Look, I’m sorry if I’m coming off as an asshole, but forgive me if I’m not all rainbows and sunshine seeing as we found you with a dead body and covered in blood.”

“I was not covered in blood,” I scoff, waving him off.

“Oh yeah?” he smirks as he leans over the table. “Then what’s this red stuff right there?” His fingers run along my jaw and I suck in a breath, my heart pounding wildly. A burst of Candy apple fills the air, making everyone groan.

I swallow hard. “Ketchup.”

“Sit back and please refrain from touching the Omega. I do not need an orgy on my dining room table.”

“Shame.” Caleb grins, sitting back in his chair, lacing his arms behind his head. “Sounds like fun to me.”

“Eww.” Duchess scrunches up her nose. “I never want to see my brother fucking someone. Ever.” She shakes her head. “Okay, there’s a lot to talk about. But first, I’m going to assume what you saw tonight is going to be forgotten?”

“Yes,” Leroy says. “We wouldn’t say anything. You know that.”

“I do.” Duchess nods. “But a reminder of what I can and would do doesn’t hurt.”

“Am I allowed to speak freely?” I ask her.

She nods. “I trust them.”

If she trusts them, then so do I. Well, not completely because I don’t know them well enough, but I do trust them with sensitive information about what Duchess does.

“Let’s start with my name. I lied. It’s not Barney.”

“Really?” Walker fake gasps. “I never would have guessed.”

I smile, flipping him off, making him frown. Does he know how sexy he looks all broody and stuff?

“My name is Savannah. I’ve been living with Duchess for a few months now. She’s taught me how to be a badass killer.” I grin proudly. She just smiles and shakes her head.

“Normally, things go a lot better than tonight, but how the fuck would I have known his wife would come to the office? I tried to get him to go to a hotel with me, but he wanted to fuck me over his desk.” I roll my eyes, crossing my arms, and then lean back in my chair. “He ruined everything.”

A collective of growls breaks out, and I find all of my newfound pack members glaring at me. I frown, leaning into Duchess. “What's wrong with them?”

She laughs. “I’m gonna go with jealousy at the idea of you being with another man. So possessive already.”

That has me smiling, a giddy feeling filling me.

“Don’t worry, I didn’t actually fuck him. I never do. I’m willing to do a lot to get the job done, but I’d never go that far.” I shiver. “But I did make him suck my cock. He was bad at it.” I shake my head.

“Still don’t know what you're talking about,” Duchess comments.

“Oh.” I laugh. “So I took my dagger and pretended it was my dick and made him deep throat it over and over again. I mean, he wanted me to do it first, so it’s only fair.”

Duchess grins. “Damn, Savvy, that's savage. I’m so proud.”

I bite my lower lip, beaming up at her.

“Hey,” Caleb snaps. “You stay away from my Omega.”

Duchess sighs heavily. “Relax, big bro. I don’t want her for anything but friendship. She’s my best friend; I have an Omega. You’ve met her. She’s my whole world, and I’d rather swallow acid than touch another person.”

“Good,” Caleb says. “I still don’t like the way she looks at you, though,” he mutters, crossing his arms.

“How do I look at her?” I frown.

“With those lovey-dovey eyes.” Walker waves his hand. “Do you like her or something? Are we going to have something to worry about?”

I frown harder. “Love? Like in love? No.” I shake my head. “I have nothing but respect and gratitude for her. Duchess and Jerry saved my life.”

“What do you mean?” the quiet one, Jake, asks.

“For years, I was kept captive by a man named Corbin. He was a sick, evil bastard,” I growl. “I guess he got sick of me and decided he was going to sell me to another sick and evil bastard. Jerry was working with Duchess to get me out, and that was the time to do it. He faked my death for Corbin to leave me alone, and Duchess took me in. She gave me my freedom and my home.” I smile over at her. “I don’t remember anything before I was taken. Trauma and all that bullshit. To me, I’m Savvy, to the world, I guess they know me as Savannah Banks.” I shrug. “Not sure if I’ll ever be her again. Not sure if I want to be. I like being Savvy. I get to kill people.” I grin.

Walker and Leroy look at Jake, their eyes wide as Jake’s face pales, and he looks like he’s going to be sick. He gets up from the table and rushes out of the room. “Is he okay?”

“How long have you been here?” Caleb asks, his playfulness gone.

“About six months.”

“What the fuck, Duchess!” Caleb jumps to his feet, his chair flying back. “She’s been here, under your care for six-fucking-months and you didn’t tell me!” he roars.

“Watch how you fucking talk to me!” she snaps back, getting to her feet.

I watch in shock, eyes bouncing between them like a ping-pong ball. I have no idea what’s going on. We just found out we were scent matches. She wouldn’t have known.

“Why?” Caleb asks, his nostrils flaring. He looks pissed. “You knew we were looking for her. Why wouldn’t you tell us?”

“You were looking for me, why?” I frown. “Wait, do we know each other?”

Caleb looks down at me, his face softening. “No.” He shakes his head, then laughs. “But I sure feel like I do. Or at least the person you were before. The amount of stories I’ve heard, I felt like I was there living them with you.”

My stomach flips. “Stories from who?”

“Me,” Jake says, stepping back into the room. He looks paler than before.

I lick my lips, heart racing. “We know each other?”

“Oh yeah.” Jake laughs sadly, eyes watering. “Yeah, we do.”

I’m not sure what to say. So I knew one of my Alphas before I was taken?

“How?” I ask.

He runs a shaky hand through his hair. “We were best friends.” He smiles softly.

“Oh,” I whisper. Why do I feel like crying? I don’t remember this man. Yet, the thought of him hurting over me makes me want to walk over there and hold him.

“We’ve been looking for you since you were taken,” Caleb states before looking at his sister. “Years and years. With no trace. And yet, you somehow know enough about where she was to be able to cook up a plan with our brother to free her?”

“The fewer people who knew about her whereabouts, the better,” Duchess defends. “Jeremy was already risking his life enough as it was.”

“And you thought I’d do something to put his life at risk?” Caleb growls.

“Not on purpose. But I know how close you were to this case, to getting Savannah back. We were not emotionally invested like you. She was an Omega we wanted to see saved. To you, she was your best friend’s Omega, whom you’ve spent half a decade trying to find. I knew if you knew where she was, you would have risked your life to get her out. And I wasn’t going to allow my brother to die when there was a better way.”

“That doesn’t explain why you didn’t tell us when she was free!” Caleb shouts. “You kept her from us for six months!”

“It wasn’t that easy,” Duchess growls. “With everything going on in your life at the time, bringing you a damaged Omega didn’t seem like the right idea.”

“Don’t call her that,” Jake growls.

“But it’s true,” I speak up, all eyes darting over to me. “I’m fucked up.” I laugh. “No, really, I am. Like full-on crazy. Okay, so I could be worse, but spending five years in solitary confinement does shit to your head, you know? Am I a danger to myself? No. I am not stupid. I know stuff. Okay, sure, because I don’t remember, what I know is based on movies I’ve watched, but I did do a lot of internet surfing when I got out—discovered porn too. That's pretty fun. Sex was never like that for me. Not that I remember having sex, I was usually drugged during my heats. But I’m excited to try it out, you know?”

Duchess groans as the guys gape at me.

“What?” I blink, looking around. “Did I say something wrong?” Probably, but I’m not the best with social cues and shit. I mean, what do you expect? I was never around people.

“Too much too soon, babe,” Duchess says.

“Oh.” I wince. “Sorry, I tend to overshare. Was it the porn part? I’ll totally stop watching. I have Alphas now, I don’t need porn.”

A hand covers my mouth, and I look over to see Duchess glaring at me. “Shut. Up.”

I pout against her palm. “Fine,” I mumble.

She removes her hand and sighs before looking at the guys. Why do they look like Duchess does when she’s pissed, like she wants to murder people.

Oh! Do they like to kill too? Oh my god, we could do a group date! That would be so much fun. We could give each other pointers.

“I’m going to kill him,” Caleb growls. “I’m going to drive over to his fucking house and put a bullet through his head!”

“Who?” I frown.

“Corbin!”

“No, you're not.” I snort.

“Why the fuck not?” he demands.

“Because I’m going to do that. But not yet. I have a plan. He’s mine. Please don’t make me hurt you for getting in the way of that. I’d really hate to have to kill you all when I just found you.”

“She’s joking, right?” Walker asks Duchess.

She shrugs. “It’s fifty-fifty.” She turns to me. “I won’t let you kill my brother, though, sorry. Torture, maybe, but he needs to live afterwards.”

“Daphne!” Caleb shouts.

“What?” she laughs. “Okay, okay. Real talk. Here’s the deal, boys. Savvy works for me. She kills for me. But she also has her own hits for her own personal reasons. Just because she found you, doesn’t mean she’s going to stop.”

“She's not?” Leroy asks

“Nope,” I say. “I wanna get to know you. All of you. You seem pretty awesome, and well, you’re my scent matches so my body and brain are demanding you all fuck me here and now and sink your teeth into me. But that's a no-no...” I look at Duchess. “Right?” She nods. I look back at them. “So yeah, that can’t happen. Anyways, I told myself when I got out that nothing and no one would stop me from getting my revenge. And that includes my scent matches. So the deal is, you accept me and my life, or you leave.” I wanna say it’s as simple as that, but it’s not. It would be hard, so fucking hard because the idea of them leaving me behind in this house and never seeing them again makes me wanna claw my skin off. “Is what I do a deal breaker?”

“No,” Caleb says quickly. “I meant what I said before, I’d help you hide the body. I’ll stand guard while you work. I’ll be right by your side with whatever you need.”

“Caleb,” Leroy says. “It’s not that easy. We have to talk about this.”

“What’s there to talk about?” Caleb asks. “She’s our fucking Omega!”

“A lot,” Leroy growls. “I’m not saying I don’t want her, or want to get to know her. I’m saying, it’s not just us we have to think about.”

I see the way Caleb’s face falls. “We will work around that if we need to.”

“Caleb,” Leroy sighs.

“No!” Caleb saps. “I’m not leaving her. She’s mine. And you sure as fuck know Jake’s not going anywhere.” I look over to Jake, who’s chewing on the side of his thumb. He looks worked up. I want to go over there and make him feel better.

So, I do.

Getting up, I walk around the table, letting my body do the talking. I’m not even really sure what I’m doing until I’m standing beside him.

He looks down at me in surprise. “What are you doing?” he asks.

“You look like you could use a hug,” I say before wrapping my arms around his body.

Burying my face into his chest, I take a deep breath of chamomile and lavender. I’m not sure why, but tears spring to my eyes, and I hold onto my Alpha tighter.

His arms come around me, and he holds on to me like he’s afraid I’ll disappear. I’m a lot shorter than he is, so he buries his face into my hair at the top of my head.

“Savvy,” he whispers, and I can hear how his voice breaks. “I thought I’d never see you again.”

I’m not sure what to say back. I don’t remember him. I didn’t know who he was until tonight. But something inside makes me feel like I’m home, like he’s my home. Like I’m where I’m meant to be. And I don’t think it’s just because he’s my Alpha.

“It’s getting late,” Leroy says. “I think we should go home, sleep, and meet up tomorrow.”

“No,” Caleb says. “I’m not leaving her.”

“Neither am I,” Jake says, holding me tighter. Relief fills me because I don’t think I’d be able to handle them leaving.

I don’t like the idea of the other two going, but as long as I have one of them, I’ll be okay. For now.

“Alright. We’ll see you tomorrow then. But the two of us need to get home,” Leroy says. “We’ll see you tomorrow. Okay, Savannah?” I feel his hand touch my back, and I shiver in delight.

“See you tomorrow,” Walker echoes. He surprises me by running his hand down my hair, letting it linger for a moment before it disappears.

Pulling back, I watch Leroy and Walker leave, my heart hurting at the fact that they could leave so easily. I know it’s stupid, but a part of me feels rejected.

“Well, this was an interesting night,” Duchess comments. “Did you want a spare room for them, or will you be sharing yours?” I look over at her with a raised brow, and she laughs. “I don’t know why I even asked.” She looks over at my Alphas. “You two stay with Savvy. The other Omegas in this house don’t know you, and if they were to stumble upon you, they have the right to react how they see fit.”

“Stab you,” I growl. “She means stab you. And that’s not fucking happening.”

Duchess gives me a pointed look. “Behave, Savvy.”

“When do I ever behave?” I ask, giving her a sweet smile.

She rolls her eyes and walks away.

“Alright, boys.” I take both of their hands. “To my room. Because I’m tired as fuck, and I need to pass out now or I’ll get cranky.” I look at them over my shoulder. “And you don’t wanna see me when I’m cranky.”

They chuckle as they follow me. Every step we take, I feel like I’m walking on air. I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy. This is exciting. I still have no idea what the fuck is going on and what all of this means, but I’m so damn thrilled to find out.

I know at least two of my Alphas are okay with my lifestyle. As much as I want my whole pack, I could survive with only these two.

As we get to my room, I unlock it and let them in. “Make yourselves at home. The bed is free to use. The bathroom is amazing. If you're hungry or thirsty, there's stuff in the fridge.” I point in its direction.

Walking over to my dresser, I pull off my top and trade it out with a baggy t-shirt. Then I replace the scent blocking panties with regular ones because these things are chunky.

When I bend over to put my feet in the holes, I hear groans behind me. “Shit, sorry.” I laugh, slipping them on. “I keep forgetting changing in front of people isn't normal unless it’s a changing room, fitting room, or with your lovers.” I smile. “But I mean, you are my Alphas. So that's okay, right?”

“You can get naked around me anytime,” Caleb murmurs, eyes glued to my boobs. I look down to see my nipples hard, pressing against my shirt, and laugh.

“Why would you forget that?” Jake asks. “To not change in front of just anyone.”

I shrug. “I was never given privacy in the past. That's all I knew. But here, no one comes in. No one can touch me. I’m free.” I grin. “And I can stab anyone who tries. You have no idea how many guards I wanted to stab. I did bite one's finger off, though.” I laugh. “His screams were priceless.”

The two of them go silent, and I fear I’ve said something wrong again. “I’m talking too much, aren't I?”

“No, you're not.” Caleb gives me a smile. “So, sleep?”

“Right.” I nod. “Sleep. I need it.” I start heading towards the closet when Jake asks.

“Where are you going?”

“My nest.” I point to the closet.

“Don’t you wanna sleep in the bed?” Caleb asks.

I shake my head. “No. I don’t like to sleep in open places.”

They look at each other before walking over to me. “Can we join you?” Jake asks. “I know how sacred an Omega's nest is, and we would never want to impose.”

“Really?” I smile widely. “Hell yeah.” I grab their hands and pull them towards the closet. “It's a tight fit, though.”

“We’ll make it work,” Caleb reassures.

Getting down on the floor, I snuggle into my nest of blankets. The guys look around before ridding themselves of their shoes and jeans before joining me.

Jake takes my left and Caleb takes my right. “Shit.” I forgot to turn on the TV.

“What's wrong?” Jake asks.

“I don’t like the silence. I normally sleep with my TV on.”

“Does it have to be the TV, or will any noise work?” Caleb asks.

On the roof, I fall asleep listening to the sounds of the city and the nature around me. So I answer, “Any sound works.”

It’s quiet for a second, then a rumbly sound fills the room. I’ve heard it before. Duchess does it for Lucy when she wants to help her relax. They’re purring for me.

My eyes instantly grow heavy as my body relaxes. Sighing contentedly, I snuggle into them and let sleep take over me.

It’s the first night that I’ve ever felt really and truly safe. This is where I’m meant to be.

The last thought I have before I go under, as always, is of my little boy. Don’t worry, baby, Mama won’t forget about you. Never. We’re going to get you justice. I promise you that.
