Chapter 11 #2
I scan the table and see the rage rolling off my brothers. Dash is the first to speak. And I notice that Twitch, Diesel, and Blade made it back from helping Gunner out at the Fallon Chapter.
“They didn’t get anything, did they, Hawk?” he asks focusing over at our secretary and IT brother.
He starts shaking his head, “No, Raegan was able to put them off and give us a new firewall to prevent any type of intrusion. She’s great…”
“Who the fuck is Raegan? And why is she in our business?” Diesel exclaims.
I have to hold in my growl and only clench my fists at his tone. I notice Havoc watching my every move, not paying any attention to the conversation around him. I know he’s observing my reaction to hearing them talk about her, and it pisses me off even more.
“Oh, she’s the best hacker of all time. I’ve been trying to reach out to her for years!” Hawk crushes on her like a goddamn fangirl.
“It was a reliable informant who came to us,” Brass speaks up shutting Hawk up. I’m glad he spoke up about trying to honor Wildcat’s wishes at being anonymous, but the fucking cat is out of the bag now.
“How do we know she’s not a spy, playing with us? Who’s to say she doesn’t work for the Vipers?” Twitch questions.
“She doesn’t.” Havoc slams his hand down on the table startling a few brothers.
“But how do we know for sure?” Diesel reiterates.
“She’s not. Raegan wouldn’t do anything to bring harm to Havoc or me,” Riot speaks up. He’s now jumped in, not happy about having her being accused of siding with the Vipers.
“You think she’s clean?” Diesel asks looking right at me.
My thoughts go immediately to last night and the shower we had after getting down and dirty.
Christ, that woman is glorious in bed. I make a mental note to stock up on condoms for my house since I don’t carry a box around with me.
Her stamina is at an all-time high right now, and could match the energy of ten men in their prime.
I lean back in my seat to give my aching dick a little more breathing room.
A cleared throat brings me out of my musing, and I force myself to focus on the meeting.
“Prez?” Brass questions, and I notice that everyone has stopped talking and is looking at me expectantly. Havoc has his eyes narrowed at me. I’m about to knock that expression right off his face.
“She’s reliable. She came to us and showed us the email.
Havoc and Riot have both championed her,” I say.
What I really want to say is she’s mine and no one better fucking question her ever again, but alas I have to wait until I have a few rounds with her ex before laying claim.
“But you should all know that she is the mayor’s stepdaughter. ”
“What the fuck? Are you trying to get us all placed in a prison cell next to Blaze?” Chains questions. The room is grumbling about that news. I knew this would be a huge factor in telling them this.
“She’s not like that.” Riot slams his hand down getting everyone’s attention.
“Raegan doesn’t like or want anything that has to do with the mayor.
She despises him for what he and her mother did to her father.
She’s only here now to give her father some time with his new wife.
Raegan’s not a rat, and if she says she can help, then she can.
She doesn’t have any hidden agenda. That’s not the type of person she is.
Anyone else remember her trying to take on that Viper who stole the little old lady’s purse last week? ”
“Wait, is this the same bitch that clocked Havoc in the parking lot? The one who also took down a prospect?” Dash asks with wonder. “Damn, she’s a feisty one. I wouldn’t mind having a little piece of that.”
I have to keep my smirk in check as Havoc shoots Dash a dirty look. A few brothers chuckle at Havoc and Riot is one of them. I completely ignore the last thing he mentioned and the bitch comment, because if I dwell on it then I might shoot him between the eyes.
“Listen, we have a chance to infiltrate their camp from the outside, but we need to vote on it. Raegan thinks that she and Hawk can create a bogus file and send it to them while she plants a bug on their server. We’ll be able to access their files, and it’ll help us take them down from the inside out. ”
“So, let’s put it to a vote then,” Reaper, my Sergeant at Arms, demands. He’s never been one to beat around the bush.
“I vote yes to bringing in Raegan to help Hawk,” I say and then peer over to my right to continue the voting.
The vote goes around the table and Havoc is the last to speak.
After voting yes, we’re all in agreeance that Raegan will help bring them down.
Hawk is beside himself. I’ll have to make sure to monitor their interactions.
He isn’t an evil guy, but I can tell the crush he’s already formed in his head about her.
“Alright, with that settled let’s talk about the protection run.
I think Riot, Hawk, Diesel, and the prospects will stay back along with some of the Tucson Chapter.
We’re looking to be gone five days max from here to the border of North Dakota and back, so everyone needs to be on their toes and not let your guards down.
If the Vipers get wind that most of us are gone, they might try to make a move on our territory. ”
I get a nod from my men. We discuss our other businesses before church is declared over and the gavel pounds down on the table. Everyone exits the room except Havoc, Brass, and me.
“Everything good here?” Brass asks as the tension builds in the room.
“We’re good,” I say and nod for him to leave.
Brass shuts the door behind him, and when I turn back to face Havoc, I’m met with a fist to my jaw, almost knocking me down. Fuck! That one clocked me good.
“I’ll give you that one, brother. Even though it was a cheap shot,” I growl and wipe off the drop of blood from the corner of my mouth.
“Why her? You get pussy thrown at you every day. Why her?” he spews.
“I didn’t plan—”
“Bullshit! You knew, I told you everything about what she and I went through. Is this a joke to you? A game?”
“What? No, brother. She had this pull on me and then the night the prospects picked her up, I couldn’t believe it was her. She’s…” I try to think of the best way to put this and spare his feelings, but I know nothing I say will help right now.
“She’s magnetic, I know. Raegan is not made for this lifestyle.
She’s not some club whore you can use and then throw away.
Raegan is everything we’re not, she’s kind and pure,” Havoc says defeated.
Moments pass and he’s lost in thought, I want him to get all of this out so that we can move on from this and never have to bring it up again.
“Havoc, Raegan is a grown woman now and can make her own choices. She’s not the little teenager that you knew six years ago,” I express trying to let him know that the picture in his head of her isn’t what she has become.
“And for the record, I know that she’s not a club whore and don’t plan to treat her as such,” I seethe at him.
“How long have you been keeping this from me? I saw the way you were with her last night when Hawk grabbed her, so don’t try to say that it just happened. You’ve never cared about how women are dealt with around here.”
“Havoc…”
“Just tell me!”
“I had no idea who she was when I first saw her. I saw her at the hotel bar up at the rally in South Dakota a few months back. We hung out for a bit, but I never thought I’d see her again.
The night she was picked up by us, we realized that we already knew each other.
It started then, but I stopped it before anything could happen.
I knew that it would complicate things in the club, so I pushed her away.
But when I saw her with fucking Hastings I knew I couldn’t stay away.
I really tried Havoc, I did. But she keeps reeling me in, I think about her all the time, like she has a spell on me. ”
“Have you fucked her?” he asks.
“That is none of your goddamn business, Havoc. Don’t cross a line that you can’t come back from,” I warn him. There is no way I’m going to let him disrespect Raegan. Never have I cared about my brothers knowing about a good lay, but with Raegan, I want to keep it only between me and her.
“Did she tell you that we kissed yesterday? Yeah, we had an unbelievable time catching up at our spot on the bridge.” He’s goading me and I’m close to falling for it.
“Yeah, she told me everything, Havoc,” I play along and lie.
“Fuck!” he yells and slams his fist on the table after not getting the reaction he wanted. I knew that if something happened Raegan would’ve said something.
Reaper barges in to check things out.
“Outside now!” Havoc demands of me. I know what he wants and if that is going to help him get over this, then so be it. Hell, it might make me feel better too.
Havoc storms out of the room and through the bar area catching everyone’s attention. Grabbing my phone off the pool table, I make a quick call.
“Hello?” She sounds so sexy when she’s still asleep.
Focus, Stone.
“Did you and Havoc kiss yesterday at the bridge?” I accuse more than ask.
“That’s not what happened.” I can tell she’s more awake now, and my heart has stopped waiting for an explanation.
“Havoc told me that he still loved me and then kissed me. I didn’t return it at all.
I pushed him away and told him I didn’t feel the same, warned that if he ever did that to me again I’d knock his block off. ”
I believe her. Havoc is just upset and has lost his first love.
And that’s a hard pill to swallow, again.
To love someone when they don’t return it is a tough blow.
Although, if he was truly in love with her then why has he been with all those whores since she’s been back in town?
Deep down I think he knows it’s never going to happen between them ever again.
“All right, babe, go back to sleep. I’ll call you later.”
“Is everything okay, Kane?” I can hear the worry in her voice.
“Everything is perfect, Wildcat. I’ll see you soon.” Hanging up I hear the thumping of boots behind me as I make my way out to the back of the clubhouse.
Outside I see Havoc taping up his hands and has already removed his cut and shirt. Following suit, I remove my cut, holster, and shirt and place them over a bench near the ring.
We hold fights here sometimes to let the brothers have a way to blow off some steam. When other chapters come in, we hold a tournament with money on the line for the winner.
Brass helps me tape up my hands before I get in the ring ready to pound some sense into this little fucker. Right now he’s not the VP of my club, but a guy who’s touched my woman. I’m a raging bull at the moment, and Havoc just happens to be on the receiving end.
Brass hops into the ring and yells out the rules.
“First one who taps out or is knocked out is the loser. No eye gouging or any of that cheap shot shit. May the best man win,” he calls out then walks over to the side and yells, “FIGHT!”
Havoc and I circle the perimeter of the ring sizing each other up.
He’s a mean motherfucker about an inch taller than me.
We’re the same build of solid muscle and could kill a fucker with our bare hands.
Both Havoc and I advance on each other. He’s a scrappy fighter but is very impatient.
I like to sit back and think things through before attacking which is my advantage right now.
Havoc is all over the place hoping to land a lucky shot that’ll knock me out.
He should know by now that it takes more to knock me out than a single punch.
I’ve got a lot riding on this, and I plan to school his ass.
Havoc lunges with a right cross that I block. I throw a body punch to the stomach catching him off-guard. He snaps an upper cut and throws me off balance hitting me with a one-two punch to the face.
I rush towards him to get him in a clench.
Grabbing him in a headlock, I bring my knee up to his stomach and knock the wind out of him.
I follow up with a fist to the face catching his left eye.
His face turns but follows up clocking me on the side of my face close to my temple.
It stuns me, but I keep pushing forward.
Punch after punch, we continue this for a while.
We are both gassing out and fast, but then a picture shoots into my brain of Havoc kissing my wildcat.
Reaching back, I slug the shit out of him before he can connect to my face.
Havoc stumbles backwards and lands on his ass looking dazed.
I march up to him, grab a fist full of his short hair, making him look at me.
“Don’t you ever touch my woman again. Got that?” I don’t wait for a response before I slam another punch to his sweet spot, and it’s lights out for him.
Ding. Ding. Ding. TKO and the fight is over. I rung his bell. It won’t be something he forgets for a while.
I hear the brothers all around us hollering and cheering. Riot goes and checks on Havoc while Brass comes over and helps remove the tape from my bloody hands.
“I take it that you guys had that talk, huh?” Brass pipes up and Reaper hands me a beer instead of water to drink.
They have Havoc sitting up on a stool, he’s aware of his surroundings, but he’s still is a little out of it.
“Take him to his room and have one of the club whores watch over him,” I tell Riot as Reaper answers his phone.
“Prez, it’s Bender from the Tucson Chapter.” He walks over and hands me the phone.
“What can I do for you, Bender? We still on with the run in a few days, right?” I ask the VP.
“Actually, we’re almost to the clubhouse. Had a tip that our warehouse was gonna be raided and we hightailed it out of there. I know we’re early, but I thought we could leave out early in the morning. I’d like to put as much distance behind us as possible.”
“Sure thing, brother. We can leave before daybreak tomorrow.”
“Good. See you soon, Stone,” Bender ends the call.
“Shit!” I yell and toss Reaper his phone back.
“What’s up, Prez?” Chains asks as the brothers huddle around.
“Change of plans, boys. We leave before dawn tomorrow, make plans and settle all your affairs now. They arrive soon.”
I walk away from the group and roar my bike out of the compound. I’ve got some loose ends to tie up before I leave in the morning, and I know just where to start.
