Chapter 25 #2
Forty-five minutes later, I’m walking up to buffet at Bishop’s casino and see the swarm of leather cuts waiting outside the restaurant.
Some are still wearing the same clothes as yesterday with hookers hanging off their sides, looking as though they’re heading to a nightclub instead of going to breakfast.
Havoc, Reaper, and Brass see me approach and it seems as though he’s filled them in on what he heard upstairs.
“Okay, Stone, talk,” Havoc insists. Never in my life have I ever had to explain myself to anyone, and I’m not about to start now.
“I don’t have to say shit about what I do in my personal life, to you or anyone else for that matter.”
Something catches his eye over my shoulder, and I turn to see my gorgeous woman with Ivy and Sutton chewing her ear off and not looking very thrilled at the moment.
She’s in a short floral dress that shows off her legs and strappy wedges making her look tall.
As they reach us, I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her to my chest.
“Hey, Wildcat, you have a good night?” I ask and kiss her lips softly.
“Mmm, you smell so good,” she murmurs returning my kiss. “I did, how was your night? Do anything fun or crazy?” she starts, wiggling her eyebrows up and down.
I hear huffing from beside us and see Havoc, Sutton, Ivy and a few of my brothers giving me and Raegan confused and annoyed looks.
As I’m about to tell them to shut their trap, our name is called and we’re ushered to the back of the restaurant where only we occupy the space.
Five people are already seated at our tables, waiting patiently for us to arrive.
I know I need to say something, but I don’t want to upset everyone.
Standing up from my seat, I grab my empty glass and fork and chime it, getting everyone’s attention.
“There is something I need to confess that will affect everyone here.” I pause wanting to gather my words to make sure I get them out correctly.
“A few months ago,, I met the most incredible woman and was lucky enough to snag her up. She quickly became my whole world, and in a short amount of time, I finally found the love of my life.” I look down and take her hand making her stand with me.
“From the moment I saw her I knew I had to make her mine and find a way to seal her to me. We had an incident happen about a month ago that really put things into perspective for me, and I knew what needed to happen and made it happen last night.” I know that everyone is expecting this, but there is a little surprise that they don’t know about.
“So, without further ado…please say hello to Mrs. Raegan Stonewall!” She holds her left hand up showing off her sparkling three point seven-one black princess cut diamond engagement and wedding band set.
I lift my matching black Tungsten ring and kiss her soundly.
There’s mixed emotions from around the tables. I knew this is what we’d get. Some are clapping, but the majority are sitting there with their mouths open staring at us.
“Wait! So, it was Raegan in the room this morning when I knocked on the hotel door?” Havoc still has a confused expression plastered on his face.
“Hold on. This is why you didn’t come back to the room last night?” Ivy accuses gripping the table.
Oh, that must be why she was chewing Raegan’s ear off when they were approaching us at the restaurant.
After closing the door on Havoc earlier, we had a quick morning wakeup call before going our separate ways. Raegan didn’t have any clothes in the suite Ox gifted us and needed to head back down to her, Ivy, and Sutton’s room to change.
We still haven’t heard from the five people who were waiting for us at the table, and I’m a little nervous about their reaction. I turn fully in their direction and see Dad, Melissa, Rocky, Roger, and Claire still sitting there watching us.
Finally, Dad is the one who speaks first. “Why in the hell did you even invite us here if you were planning to elope the night before the actual event?”
I clear my throat to not sound like a child being scorned his dad. “It wasn’t planned, but I saw Raegan down in the casino last night and couldn’t wait a minute longer.”
“Then one of you better start explaining quickly,” Roger growls, and I can almost see the steam spewing out from his ears.
~Last Night 9PM~
I leave the poker table that the guys are playing at.
After talking with Ox and Wyatt and going over the plans for the ceremony tomorrow night, we decided to have a little fun while waiting for a text from Sutton or Ivy.
I’ve been planning this surprise for Raegan for weeks now, and I just want everything to be perfect for her.
I spoke with Roger about having Raegan’s hand when she was home from the hospital before he and Claire returned to Seattle.
Of course, he made me sweat it for like an hour.
Strolling out of the casino, I make my way towards the bar area when I catch sight of Raegan, Ivy, and Sutton checking in at the lobby. Sutton sees me first and I motion for her to meet me by the bathrooms. She says something to the other two and walks over to me without my wildcat ever knowing.
“Hey, is everything going according to plan?” I ask as I keep looking over her shoulder at Raegan as the bellhop blatantly starts checking her out.
“Well…” She peeks over her shoulder and then back at me. “She had a meltdown before we left the house and then on the airplane.”
“What do you mean, she had a meltdown?”
“Apparently, you’ve been so consumed with these plans that you’ve made her feel as though you don’t want her anymore. She thinks when we get back, you’re going to break it off with her or something.”
What the fuck?
I’ve been busy, but it was only to make sure this surprise was perfect for her.
She has no idea that I’m planning to propose to her in the morning, and having the wedding that evening in front of her dad, Claire, and all my family that came with me.
Her rings are burning a hole in my pocket as we speak.
I move to go to her, but Sutton stops me.
“It’s just one more day. She’ll be fine and understand once she sees you.” I nod and watch as she finishes checking in.
Sutton and I head in different directions, and I carefully watch as the three women walk over towards the elevators.
As they approach the lift, Raegan says something to the other two then walks over to a slot machine and sits down.
She pulls out a bill and places it in the machine, and I pounce as I watch the elevator doors close on Sutton and Ivy, leaving me alone with my woman.
I stalk up behind her and see she’s hit some cherry line and it lights up, giving her a fifty dollar credit. I can see her reflection in the screen and can’t help but smile at her jovial expression at winning.
“I think I’ve received a better cherry than this machine is offering,” I lean over and whisper in her ear.
Raegan turns around and practically leaps over the chair when she hears my voice.
“Kane!” She hugs me tight around the neck, and I feel like shit for making her doubt that I want to be with her. “What are you doing here?”
“We have some business here in Las Vegas. Remember the run I had to do,” I tell her.
“Oh.” Her face drastically changes to sadness.
I can’t take it another minute.
“Come, take a walk with me.” I reach my hand out for her. She’s hesitant for a second but locks her fingers in mine.
I lead her through the lobby and down a long hallway to a set of doors that lead out to a garden area. We walk through the lush greenery and go through an archway and up to a stone structure where I had all this planned for tomorrow morning, but fuck it.
Letting her sit down on one of the stone benches, I take a deep breath.
It’s now or never, Stone.
“Raegan, I know I’ve been distant these past few weeks, but it was because I had something very important to set up, and I wanted it to go smoothly.
” Another deep breath. “I’ve never had someone like you in my life, and it’s completely taken me by surprise.
Never did I imagine that finding love or being loved in this lifestyle was an option for me.
I think you complement me in every way possible while challenging me at every turn.
I want you to know that there never is or will be another woman in my life but you. ”
From the soft lighting around the stone chapel, I see tears welling up in her eyes. I have a tight hold on her hand so that she can’t feel the shakiness that’s coursing through my body.
“Raegan, I know this relationship happened fast, but I promise you that not a day will go by that I won’t cherish or tell you that I love you. I plan to show you every day just how much love I have for you.”
I wipe the tears that are now streaming down her cheeks with the pad of my thumb.
“Will you do me the honor to not only love me every day but also to marry me?” I ask getting down on one knee and wait with bated breath for her answer.
What feels like a lifetime, but is really only mere seconds, she brings up her hands and covers her mouth as I present her with the ring I’ve picked out for her. She’s not looking at the rings but at my face.
Nodding several times she finally speaks, “Yes! Yes, Kane, I will marry you! Yes!”
I waste no time slipping the engagement ring on her finger while smothering her cheeks with my hands and kissing the fuck out of her. She wraps her arms around my neck as I stand us both up and swing her around in a circle. Best day of my life.
Not wasting any more time, I pull out my phone and press the button I put in not too long ago.
“Ox, change of plans. I want it to happen right now. We’ll meet you down by the doors.”
