SEVENTY-FIVE
Friday
Nathan: What sort of event are you working tonight?
Rosie: A third birthday party for triplets.
Nathan: For real?
Rosie: For real.
Nathan: So… what sort of food do they have?
Rosie: Everything has a theme of three.
Nathan: How does that work?
Rosie: *sends pic of food table*
Nathan: Are those melon balls?
Rosie: Yep. Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew. And since it’s not good to have toothpicks around a bunch of kids, I had to make my own out of a watermelon rind.
Nathan: Even Charles is impressed.
Rosie: I’m blushing.
Nathan: What flavor marshmallow did you make?
Rosie: Birthday cake. Not the most original, but I used a number 3 cookie cutter to stamp them out and covered them with sprinkles. The kids seem to like them.
Nathan: My birthday is in February. In case you forgot.
Rosie: I didn’t forget.
Saturday
Nathan: Do you want to just come over here and skip the bar tonight? Since we have those banana ’mallows to make?
Rosie: I still can’t believe you bought all that stuff.
Nathan: Believe it, Beautiful.
Nathan: And you didn’t answer the question. We can order in some takeout… I’d offer to cook for you, but my specialty is microwaving frozen meals.
