Chapter 1 #2

“Did he make you come?” I wasn’t surprised when she shook her head, tilting her hips to move closer to me as I kept fucking her with my fingers. “Idiot probably didn’t even know how to get a woman off.”

“Don’t leave me hanging,” she begged, earning a smirk from me.

“You think you deserve to come? Be careful what you wish for,” I warned, her eyes flicking down between us as I removed my fingers from her and started undoing my belt.

She didn’t protest as I grabbed one of her legs and lifted it, exposing her pussy more as I lined my cock up and slammed inside, making her cry out. Her arms circled my neck to hold herself up, but I needed more.

I didn’t warn her before I lifted her, forcing her to wrap her legs around my waist as I almost fucked her through the damn wall, the dried blood on her skin mixing with our sweat and leaving red streaks down her body.

A sharp pain filled me as her fingernails cut into my shoulders, the sensation only spurring me on harder and faster until she was screaming my name and I was filling her up, both of us going still as we caught our breaths.

“I’m sorry you’re mad, but I had to keep everyone safe, Skeet. Especially you,” she finally said as I gently placed her feet on the floor, a sigh leaving me.

“I’m not mad, baby girl. I’m scared for you.”

“Why? I’m fine.”

“One day, you won’t be. I’m the one who’s supposed to kill to keep you safe, not the other way around.”

“I’d do anything for you,” she whispered, peering up at me. “Even when you’re pretending to be an asshole who doesn’t want me anymore.”

“Who the fuck said I’m pretending?” If it was Diesel, I’d kill him.

She snickered, leaning forward to bite my lip sharply. “No one said anything, but the fact you can’t keep your hands off me gives it away. I don’t think you’re as bored with me as you make it out to be.”

“You still need to stay away from me,” I grumbled, moving towards the bathroom. “After you shower with me though. You’re a mess, and you’re turning my house into a fucking crime scene.”

Rory

Once I’d washed the blood and cum from my body, I headed into the kitchen and sat at Skeeter’s dining table to light a cigarette, eyeing him as he paced.

Diesel had dropped the Corvette off, so at least I had an escape if this turned into a fight.

“Penny for your thoughts?” I asked dryly, earning a dirty look in return. Taunting Skeeter kept my mind off the fact that I’d killed someone, and if he hate-fucked me again, that was even better.

“I’m trying to figure out how to get you out of this mess.”

“All you’re doing is wearing a hole in the floor. Sit down,” I scoffed, a little surprised when he did as I said and sat opposite me.

His phone rang, and he scowled, waving it at me.

“These assholes blow up my phone more than a clingy bitch. Do me a favor and keep them in the loop so they leave me alone,” he snapped before answering, pressing it to his ear.

“If you guys keep chasing me around like bitches in heat, I’m going to bend you over like one.

Stop calling me every time you lose her.

Yes, she’s right in front of me. None of your business. ”

I let them argue for a while, then Skeeter turned to me, irritation on his face.

“Would you like them to come and get you?”

“No.”

“She said no,” Skeeter said, replying with a chuckle. “Guess rich boys don’t always get what they want. She’s had a rough night, Holloway. Leave her be, I’ve got her.”

“Give me the phone,” I sighed, holding my hand out and waiting for him to do as I’d asked, before pressing the phone to my ear. “I’m fine, and I won’t leave with you if you show up.”

“What happened tonight, and why are you even being nice to that asshole? He said some fucking horrible shit to you,” Caden demanded, and I could imagine the scowl that was probably on his face.

“The shit you did to me was worse, and look at me being nice to you,” I cooed, taking a drag of my cigarette and blowing it out.

“We apologized for that. I highly doubt Skeeter Maddox even knows how to apologize.”

“If privileged little rich brats like you can figure it out, I’m sure he can. He’s an asshole to keep me safe, you were an asshole for your own amusement.”

“Just come home, please. If something happened tonight, let me help you instead,” he said gently, and I shook my head as if he could see me.

“Tonight is Skeet’s kind of thing, not yours. I’m fine, promise, just let me crash here tonight without bothering me.”

Skeeter shot me a warning glance to keep my mouth shut, but he didn’t say anything.

I wasn’t okay, but I was safer here.

What if Slash decided I’d fucked his crew over and they came after me? Would Skeeter protect me, or follow orders?

Skeeter took the phone back and snapped something at Caden before hanging up, taking my cigarette and putting it out in the ashtray.

“Murder lesson one-oh-one. Come to terms with what you did so you can move on from it. You were backed into a corner, it could've been life or death. Killing him meant you got out safely, so it’s warranted,” he said firmly, resting his arms on the table to lean forward.

“Liam was a bad guy, no loss to society. Do I need to continue?”

“He was still a person,” I scowled, and he moved to sit beside me, resting his palm on my knee.

“He was a monster, Aurora. Do you know how many sick and twisted things that man has done?”

“Probably as many as you.”

“Doubtful. It would take years for him to catch up to my sins,” he grunted.

“Seriously, you need to detach your emotions from the situation. You had no connection to him, so you’re not sad he’s dead, you’re just freaked out because you’re the one who did it.

I can kill someone without hesitation, and it doesn’t haunt me because I’m immune to those emotions you’re feeling right now. Don’t cry for him, he’s not worth it.”

“Isn't killing a monster just turning me into a monster?” I asked quietly, trying to process his words.

“Better to be a monster at the top of the food chain than one at the bottom, don’t you think?

I don’t want you turning into me, you’re better than that, but if you’re going to get through this, then you need to block it all out and channel your inner psychopath, okay?

Don’t attach your emotions to it,” he answered, holding my gaze.

“Let the guilt go or it will eat you alive. You want my guys to respect you? Don’t act like a little bitch, don’t rat anyone out for anything, even if it saves your own ass, and be a little cold-hearted.

I don’t want you around them, but I know if you’re in trouble and I can’t get to you, Diesel would.

He didn’t try to fuck you when he stopped by to check in, did he? ”

That made me chuckle, some of the darkness in my mind vanishing.

“I just killed someone and you’re worried about your friend trying to sleep with me?”

“I don’t care about murder, but I care about my guys sticking their dicks in you. I’m not supposed to like you, Rory. For starters, you’re seventeen and living in a rich man’s world.”

“I’m not a child.”

“I know, Tristan Holloway and your father made sure of that,” he muttered, making me shrug.

“What do they have to do with you and me?”

“You’ve got enough bad shit in your life already. You don’t need me adding to it. Diesel’s right, you know? Bringing women into our world is just asking for trouble.”

“Then why can’t you stay away from me?” I asked, raising an eyebrow and making him snort.

“Good pussy.”

I stood, moving to straddle his lap.

“Wow, out of the billions of women in the world, my pussy is the best? Skeeter, you really know how to make a girl swoon.”

“Don’t let it go to your head. I said it was good, not the best,” he said bluntly, his hands sliding around me to rest on my ass. “What the fuck am I going to do with you?”

“Just call me a good girl and leave it at that. I think I handled today pretty well.”

“You’re having a breakdown because you murdered someone, in case you forgot,” he said with a scowl. “You’re not a good girl. You blew my boss and have now killed someone for him.”

“Wrong. I blew your boss and then agreed to extract information out of Liam for him. There was no murder on the cards,” I laughed nervously. “Seriously, do you think Slash will fuck me over?”

He was quiet for a minute before leaning back to meet my gaze. “Honestly? Yeah. He wants you gone, Aurora. Don’t trust him.”

“I didn’t think you guys believed in ratting to the cops?”

“We don’t. Things conveniently get left lying around for them though when it benefits us,” he answered. “I’ll have to do some digging about Liam’s father. Even if he abandoned Liam, that doesn’t mean he won’t come looking for him eventually.”

“So we have to kill him too?” I asked weakly, my stomach twisting.

How could we kill a cop without being noticed? Did I kill Liam to keep everyone safe, just to doom us all to prison anyway?

“There’s no we. I’ll handle it.”

“I made this mess,” I pointed out, but he shook his head.

“No, Slash made this fucking mess. If he asks you to help him deal with the fallout of this, tell me. He’ll only keep you safe until you serve no purpose. You’ll end up with a shitload of crimes piled up against you.”

“Wouldn’t he be worried I’d tell the cops the truth?”

“You’d lose a tongue faster than the court case would take,” he said seriously. “I’m so pissed that you got involved with this shit, and you really can’t tell anyone about it. Not Holloway’s boys, his mother, no one.”

I scoffed. “Trust me, I don’t intend on telling Caden.”

“Like how you didn’t intend on killing anyone today?” he asked flatly, making me tense.

“That’s different.”

“Hardly. Things just seem to happen when you’re around, and as much as you’re good at keeping your bad bitch mask in place, you still break,” he warned, his fingers sliding up my throat to grasp my jaw almost painfully.

“You wanted to be part of something? You got your wish. Now, you’re chained to a bunch of sins between you, me, and the devil. ”

“Slash isn’t really the devil, he’s just an asshole on a power trip,” I argued, his fingers tightening.

“That’s where you’re wrong. Slash could turn your life upside down and inside out within seconds, just because he feels like it.

You need to stay away from him no matter what he offers you.

Making deals with the devil never ends well for the sinner.

You won’t get loyalty from him, only torment and betrayal.

He doesn’t give a shit about you, you’re a pawn and a current convenience.

He’ll use you like a puppet until he can’t use you anymore. ”

I blew out a shaky breath, nodding as he finally released his bruising grip. “Okay. I’ll stay away from him.”

“Good. If you’re ever in a situation where you need help, call me, not Slash,” he said firmly, wrapping his arms around me and standing. “It’s been a long night. Let’s go to bed. If you don’t sleep, you’ll struggle to contain your emotions even more tomorrow. You have to act like nothing happened.”

“I’m not tired,” I protested, a cruel chuckle leaving him as he flipped off the lights on his way out of the kitchen.

“Trust me, you’re about to be. I’m not done being pissed at you.”
