I pulled into the parking lot of Jay’s Bar I’ll have one too.”

“Be right back with your drinks.”

“Have you been here before?”

“I haven’t.” I stared at the menu trying to figure out what I was hungry for.

“I want one of everything.” Cassie looked at me over the top of the menu. “Want to do a couple of appetizers and share?”

“That sounds great.” If I was by myself and ordered more than two appetizers, I’d have leftovers for days. “What were you thinking of getting?”

Cassie gave each of the items a mini review. She was a regular here and had tried them all. “So we agree? Pot stickers, mac it was a social situation.

Entirely different environments. During professional interactions, I would act like I did any other day and, as far as I was concerned, the issue was settled. Anything beyond that was on Asher.

When I got home, I flopped down on my sofa, wanting to zone out a while after an exhausting week. I turned on a movie I’d seen several times, and let it play as background noise, then picked up my tablet to read the newest addition to my library.

Oh yes. Spicy, sexy romance. Just what I needed.
