Chapter Three
Disoriented pleas for more, deeper, harder echoed through every thread of my being, my arms and legs compelled to cling and drape as if they weren’t my own.
Raw, intoxicated, yearning, my body begged to present, to arch obediently and take.
Instinct heightened my need, dimming my inhibitions, but despite the veil addling my awareness, my heart felt at ease. I was safe.
Protected.
A rush of pheromones, dark and earthy, overwhelmed my senses, injecting their dulcet notes into my veins.
An Alpha. A stranger, though distrust was a faint response, subdued by the one piercing emerald eye, the thick, corded muscle, and possessive touches.
He was a formidable presence who both stoked defiance in my belly and earned my willing surrender.
A worthy match.
Desperate keens vibrated over my tongue.
I was hot, too hot, an inferno of pleasure and pain branching from my toes and licking up my spine.
I’d thought nothing would soothe the ache, but rough fingers left glacial imprints in my too-sensitive skin, cooling the burn, making me shiver.
I chased the relief, longed for it, a greed roiling in my core unlike anything I’d known before.
My thighs trembled—from exertion or lust?
It was all a sticky, primitive blend of the same, but I managed to spread them wider as a voice rumbled in my ear, laced with dominance.
“Oh, you can take more than that, omega.” His growl, guttural and imposing, resonated in my bones. “Show me you deserve my knot.”
My hips rose, and a gasp hitched in my throat as a sensation of fullness lodged itself deep in my belly, stretching and claiming. My hand drifted there, fingers cradling the slight bulge while visions of the space staying filled reeled behind my eyes.
The weight pinning me to the soft sheets as release swept in felt good, right, a balm for the storm, but it was brief.
A blink of contentment before the fever surged again, hotter and stronger, melting away another layer of my consciousness.
So intense I might’ve shattered apart if that rich, all-consuming scent wasn’t holding me together.
The haze showed no sign of breaking, determined to fulfil its purpose. Unyielding.
I needed more.
“Alpha . . .”
