Epilogue
Twenty years later
M y husband had just dragged me into the pantry. His hands were caressing my body, bringing me to the rising heat he always brought out in me. His lips kissed up my neck and his cock rubbed my arse.
“Have I told you lately how much I love you and that you’re the most beautiful woman in the world?” he said.
I giggled as I spun around to gaze up at my husband. “I love you too, but you do realize I came back here to freshen up, because I feel off. I can’t believe you got me pregnant again. I’m getting too old.”
Derick’s lips brushed up and down my neck. “You’re still in your thirties, and you don’t feel old.” His fingers slipped under my panties, and he sank two fingers into my core. My gasp was cut off when I heard our daughter.
“Poppy, do you know where Mum and Dad are?
“Oh princess, I’ve got an idea where they are.” My father-in law’s voice answered Hope.
“Really gross. Don’t they know it’s not normal to have twelve kids these days? They are so sickening. Urgh, I bet Dad’s trying for the twelfth boy he keeps saying he wants. This is so wrong, we’re having a family dinner to meet my boyfriend.”
“Speaking of brothers, where are they?” Lucas asked.
“Please Poppy, I need you to go save Jarrah,” Hoped pleaded. “They’re terrorizing him.”
The talking got closer to the cupboard Derick had snuck us away to.
“Princess, if he cannot handle your brothers, cousins, and uncles, he’s not good enough for you.”
“You’re supposed to be on my side,” Hope said. “You’re my poppy.”
My daughter had her poppy wrapped around her fingers, so much so that I knew without a doubt she could kill a hundred people in front of him and he wouldn’t believe it. Hope adored him, and I knew if her poppy truly didn’t like her boyfriend, she’d break it off. Although, the couple of guys she’d tried to date hadn’t ever made it past their first family meet. Hope loved her family.
“Princess, I’m always on your side.” His voice was always so calm when he talked to Hope.
“You do realize I’m twenty-three years old, Poppy.” The sass in my daughter’s voice had me wiggling away from Derick.
“Yeah, I know, way too young to date.”
“Mum married Dad when she was eighteen.”
Having pity on my daughter, I stumbled out of the pantry, batting Derick’s hands away.
“There you are,” Hope shouted. She grabbed me and brought me closer to the French doors. I stopped her before we went back outside.
I stared out at my family. Sometimes this still felt like a dream to me. I was currently celebrating my twenty-year anniversary with my husband and our twelve children. Yes, twelve children. Derick had a thing about getting me pregnant, and to be truthful, I really didn’t mind it either. I always wanted a big family. I now have eleven boys who absolutely adored me, and I them. Hope was now twenty-three years old and the most caring, beautiful woman, who was definitely loved by her family and extremely overprotected.
“Mum, please help. Jarrah’s going to run for the hills if everybody keeps treating him the way that they are. They’re scaring him away, Mum.”
Familiar arms circled my waist as my husband kissed his way up my neck. “Because he’s not good enough for you, princess.”
“Dad, please don’t start this again. No one is ever good enough for me apparently.”
“See, princess, you’re getting it.”
Hope rolled her eyes. “Mum, can you please deal with him? I’m twenty-three years old. I’m allowed to date.”
Giggling as my husband’s hand eased down and squeezed my arse, I wiggle it as I smile at my daughter. “Derick, Hope is twenty-three years old. I think she’s allowed to start dating.” I gasped when his hand came down to smack my arse.
“No. Our princess deserves better.” He rested his hands over my stomach.
“Really, Mum and Dad, can you stop? I have no idea how I didn’t end up needing years of therapy with how you two act. Everyone can see what you’re doing. I’m trying to have a conversation with you.”
“Princess, if he can’t handle your brothers, uncles, and cousins, then he’s not the right one for you. Us Silvermans are a close-knit family. So, he would be seeing us a lot.”
“Dad, come on.” Hope stomped her foot. I wasn’t very impressed with her behavior but held my tongue. I knew my sons and the rest of the family as I’d seen how they treated other men she’d tried to date. “I have eleven brothers. They’re not leaving him alone.”
“That’s good, honey. Why do you think your mum and I had so many?Well, that and I do so love seeing your mother pregnant with my babies. She’s gorgeous. I’m a lucky man.”
I didn’t need to turn around to know the look my husband was giving me now—like I hung the moon—because I looked at him the same way.
My daughter groaned, sighed, and looked at my father-in-law. “Okay, get rid of Jarrah. I want someone to treat me how Dad does Mum, and I want what all my family has too.” Hope wrapped her arms around both me and her father. “I love you, Mum and Dad, but our family makes it real hard to date.”
My heart exploded when my boys came in and without saying anything they all ran at us and we had a huge hug. For about five minutes all I heard was, “I love you, Mum, Dad.”
My life was everything I could have wished for and more, and I couldn’t wait to keep living this amazing life with my man and my family.
I loved being a Silverman.
