55. Four #2
She bent so they were eye level. “Can you keep a secret?” she whispered loud enough for me to hear.
Judah nodded and smiled. “He’s over there.
” Psalms nodded to the same corner as earlier.
Judah quickly turned around, then turned back to face her.
“Yes, before you ask, you can go speak but be quiet. Remember, Script doesn’t like a lot of people knowing he’s around. ”
“Yes ma’am,” he nodded, then ran back to Deuce. He pulled him away from the display case, and they walked towards Script. “He’s here to make sure I don’t do anything crazy.”
“You’ve already started, though,” I chuckled, and she shrugged. “Does he know?”
“Of course,” she answered. “He knows where the bodies are buried, remember?”
“Right,” I laughed. “Do you need anything?”
“No,” she shook her head. “I know what you promised my sister, so that’s enough for me. Go after the Kilmores with Amethyst. Paul and Isaac are next on your list, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then we are good,” she said. I was about to walk away when she grabbed my arm.
“Wait.” I looked back at her. “Can I be there when you kill them? I was so focused on you not hurting her that I didn’t realize the person or people responsible for her pain were right in my face.
I don’t have to kill them, but I want to be there when they die. ”
“Yes.”

“Where exactly are we?” Cori asked after I helped her from the car. I closed the door and took her hand. “Uri?”
“You wanna see or ask questions?” I asked her as we walked towards the building.
“Both,” she answered with a laugh, and I smirked.
When she got home from work, I told her to throw on some clothes she didn’t care about and be ready to go in twenty minutes.
I’d dropped Judah off at her grandparents' house for the night before she came home. We hadn’t been on a date in a while, and with everything going on, I needed her to get out of her head for a little while.
I put the code into the door, opened it, and stepped back. “You can ask a million questions out here, or you can walk in and enjoy our time together.”
She looked at me, then at the open door. A slow smile spread across her pretty ass face, then she nodded and walked into the open door. The hallway was quiet, but I knew that was because each room was soundproof.
“Where am I going?” she asked, looking over her shoulder at me.
“Last door on the left,” I said, and she nodded.
We got to the room, and Cori stepped back, allowing me to open it for her. The room was bright. “What is this?” she asked, looking around. A bubble landed on her nose, then popped.
“It’s called ‘The Zone’,” I told her. “I own it.”
“You own it?” she asked, and I nodded. “You own a room filled with bubbles?” she turned around to get a better look at the room.
“Nah, ‘The Zone’ is the entire building,” I replied with a chuckle.
“It’s broken down to twenty rooms, some bigger than others and each something different.
” I walked to the corner of the room and started pressing buttons on the small computer stashed there.
In the opposite corner, two square-shaped panels moved, and more bubbles blew into the room. “This one is the bubble room.”
“This is so cute,” she said, popping bubbles as they floated by her. “I haven’t played with bubbles since Judah was small.”
“I reserved this room and another one for later.”
“What’s the other room?” she asked, still popping bubbles.
“You’ll see later,” I told her. “For now, you’re going to play in bubbles, laugh, and just be free from life for a little while.”
I sat in the chair in the corner and watched as she picked up different things in the room.
I had the room laid out: bubble machines, wands, guns, and anything else someone would want to use to make bubbles.
There was a table at the back of the room with additional supplies and items people could use to add to their bubbles, including glitter and food coloring.
Cori walked to the table and got lost in her own world.
She blew bubbles bigger than her and laughed when they popped.
She added food coloring to the machines, then turned off the overhead lights and left only the strobe lights on.
The differently colored bubbles floated through the air, and the light cast the perfect hues across her skin.
She picked up a bubble gun and pointed it at me. “You not gonna come play, Uri?” she asked as she slowly approached me. I licked my lips as I watched her move across the room. Her stride was sexy as fuck in the most natural way.
“You want me to?” I asked.
Cori stepped between my legs and wrapped her arms around my neck. “Yes,” she answered, then lightly kissed my lips. “You don’t want to?”
“I’d do whatever you asked, you know that,” I replied. I slowly stood, making sure her arms didn’t leave from around my neck. “You trying to get beat?”
Her eyes narrowed, and a sneaky smile pulled at her lips. “You wouldn’t let me win?” she asked.
“No.”
“Not even if I asked?” she playfully pouted.
I laughed then smiled. “Yeah, but only if you asked.”
Cori pulled me down to her and kissed me.
Her soft moan instantly made my dick hard, and I pulled her close to me.
“I’m not asking you to let me win,” she said, pulling back from the kiss.
“I like beating you fair and square.” She unwrapped her arms from around my neck and stepped back.
“It makes the victory that much sweeter.”
“It’s bubbles anyway, ain’t no winner.” I wiped my hand over my mouth.
“If you say so,” she replied with a shrug, then pointed the bubble gun at me again.
“You’d shoot me, Cori?” I asked her with a smirk. I playfully put my hands up in surrender.
Her head tilted to the side, and she slowly blinked before nodding. “For Wakanda, without question,” she said.
We stared at each other for a moment, then started laughing. Cori held on to the table while I leaned against the wall, holding my stomach. We’d just watched the movie a few days ago so for her to recite that line right now was funny as fuck.
“Ay, you can't watch nothing else,” I laughed and pushed off the wall. “Why the hell would you say that shit?”
She shrugged, then set the bubble gun down. “It felt right in the moment,” she answered with a smile. The strobe lights rolled over her face again, and I smiled. “Why are you smiling like that?”
“Because you’re pretty as fuck,” I told her. Cori shyly looked away, and I shook my head. “Why you looking away?”
“Because what I want to say to you sounds corny,” she said, facing me. I lifted my brow, and she laughed. “You gonna call me corny if I say it?”
“Nah.” I put my hands in my pockets. “Say it.”
“I feel pretty with you,” she said, and I nodded.
“Go on.”
“Before…” she sighed. “No, that’s not the right word because I don’t remember a before you. Let's say while you weren’t around.”
“I was always around; you just didn’t see me,” I corrected her.
Cori nodded. “Okay, so not around, let’s say behind the scenes?
” she suggested, and I shrugged. “While you were behind the scenes, I didn’t try to get attention from men.
I kept my head down. Not that I was insecure because I always knew I was attractive; I didn’t like the attention because of Robert. ”
“Go on.”
“I didn’t want people looking at me, especially after the assault. The thought of someone touching or wanting to be near me was too much. If they weren’t family, then I didn’t want to be around them. At the shop, I had a strict no-flirting rule. If it was crossed, they weren’t allowed back.”
“I saw the sign,” I told her. “I took it down.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’m aware; I saw the video feed,” she replied with a smirk. “I always wondered why you did that.”
“Because I flirt with you every time I walk into the shop,” I answered with a shrug. “And if a nigga is bold enough to flirt with you knowing you got a nigga, then they deserve to die.”
“What if they don’t know?”
“They know,” I told her. “Trust me. Ain’t no doubt in any niggas mind when he sees you that you got a nigga.”
“What if he’s a new client?” she asked.
“Death.”
“Blind?”
“What the hell does he need his hair cut for then?” I asked her. My brows creased in the middle. “You could be fucking up his line, and he wouldn’t even know. Nigga dumb as hell if he blind and he got somebody he doesn’t know cutting his shit. You could have him out here looking a damn mess.”
“First off, the only person I’ve ever fucked up is Krude, and that was because he was fucking with my baby,” she said. “And Granddaddy, but that was a long time ago.”
“What did he do to Judah?” I asked, already thinking of ways to get him back.
“It was a long time ago,” she repeated. I slowly blinked, not saying a word because my question still stood. “Uri!”
“Cori.”
“You’re making my life difficult right now,” she sighed, then licked her pretty as lips.
