CHAPTER ELEVEN
REDACTED
B ending down, I dropped a rose on the front doorstep before moving to the window.
I watched my Little Rabbit from the shadows of her front porch. She’d forgotten to turn the light on again tonight, as if in invitation.
She sat snuggled with that fucking fur-ball whose eyes were trained on me despite the darkness concealing my presence.
I hoped she’d get rid of it, but no—she’d gotten attached instead.
The walls of the old farmhouse were thin enough that I heard as she sobbed to her parents over video chat. Something along the lines of being sick and lonely over the holiday.
I didn’t see what the problem was, though.
She had me, and I would make sure she knew that soon enough.
