Chapter 14

CHAPTER

FOURTEEN

Destry.

Spending time with Savvy felt natural and right. I wouldn’t say I was okay with not qualifying but she damn sure made it a little easier to adjust and she looked good as hell tonight.

She was in boots, a short denim dress with thin straps that was loose around her body, leaving her shoulders bare. Her brown skin glowed under the fair lights, making it hard for me to keep my hands to myself and my contact respectable.

Her hair was loose and wild, all over her head in a crinkly puff that stopped at her shoulders and she bypassed a hat tonight which made her look softer but just as sexy. That was a problem because I was already fighting the urge to get my hands in it.

With all these people out here, I needed a minute alone. She was enjoying the fair and I didn’t want to end that for her just because I wanted her close. So I settled on an alternative that would work for both of us but the second I suggested the Ferris wheel, Savvy’s entire demeanor changed.

She stiffened and her fingers tensed around mine.

“Nope. We’re not doing that.”

I grinned. “Damn, you didn’t even think about it.”

She shook her head, staying planted where she was, like the ground itself was safer just because she was standing on it. “Not happening.”

I stepped in closer. “What’s wrong with the Ferris wheel?”

“It’s high.”

I chuckled, realizing what the problem was. “You scared of heights, Rebel?”

Her jaw tensed and she pointed. “I just don’t like being that high up.”

“That’s the same thing, sexy.”

She crossed her arms, lifting her chin. “I’m not scared.”

I smirked, stepping even closer. “Then prove it.”

She glared but I could see the stubbornness in her eyes.

“Savvy,” I murmured, brushing my thumb against her wrist. “You’ll be fine.”

She didn’t answer.

“Just trust me,” I said, softer this time.

She sighed, looking between me and the Ferris wheel. After a long pause, she muttered, “You’re not my friend.”

I grinned. “That a yes?”

She groaned. “Yes.”

The line was short but it didn’t matter. Savvy’s nerves got worse the closer we got. I could see it in the way she kept glancing up at the ride and shifting on her feet with her arms crossed tightly over her chest.

“You okay?”

She narrowed her eyes. “I’m reconsidering all my life’s choices.”

I laughed, pulling her in closer as the Ferris wheel came to a stop and the operator waved us forward.

“Too late now.”

She groaned again but climbed in, sliding onto the bench seat and I took the spot right beside her, making sure she was close enough to feel me.

The ride started lifting, and to her credit, she held it together for the first few rounds, at least.

She didn’t talk much, just sat there pressed against my side with her hands gripping the bar a little too tightly.

I leaned back, stretching an arm along the back of the seat. “See? Not so bad.”

“I think I hate you. This is definitely bad.”

I smirked. “No, you don’t.”

She dropped her shoulders forcing herself to relax and that lasted for all of ten seconds before the ride stopped at the very top and everything went to hell.

The second the Ferris wheel jerked to a halt, Savvy’s whole body locked up. Her fingers gripped the bar tighter and her breaths became short and uneven. When she glanced over the edge, panic crossed her face. I immediately sat up. “Hey, it’s okay?—”

“Nope,” she said, shaking her head. “Not okay. Not okay at all.”

I frowned, realizing just how bad this was. I expected her to be nervous and maybe a little tense but she was in a full-blown panic.

“Savvy,” I said calmly, reaching for her hand. “You’re fine.”

She shook me off and her breathing started coming faster now. “I’m not fine. We’re stuck. At the top.”

She was scared, really fucking scared, and that didn’t sit right with me.

“Come here.”

She shook her head, still too panicked to focus. I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into my lap, making her straddle me.

She gasped, gripping my shoulders, but I didn’t let her go.

“It’s okay,” I murmured with my hands firm on her hips, holding her steady. “Just breathe.”

She shook her head. Her body was still tense as hell. “I can’t?—”

I did the only thing I knew would work. I kissed her—slow, deep, and grounding.

I felt the moment she stopped thinking about everything else. Her fingers dug into my shirt and her chest pressed against mine. After a few seconds, her body relaxed just enough for me to feel it. I kept the kiss going, letting her focus on me so she could ignore what was going on around us.

When I finally pulled back, I didn’t let her move away. I pressed my forehead to hers with my hands still securing her against me.

“You’re okay, Rebel.”

She was still breathing hard but her grip on my shirt loosened slightly.

“I hate you,” she whispered, but her voice wasn’t clipped.

I grinned, brushing my thumb over the small of her back. “You’re still sitting in my lap.”

She groaned, burying her face in my shoulder. I chuckled, holding her a little tighter, waiting for the ride to move again. When the car shifted then jerked hard, jolting us, she tensed again. She shook in my lap again and her breaths were uneven. Her fingers curled into my shirt like it was the only thing keeping her grounded. I didn’t need her stuck in her own head, panicking over something that wasn’t a damn threat, so I took it a step further.

My hands slid lower, moving beneath the hem of her dress, brushing over her thighs, feeling the way her body tensed beneath my touch.

Her breath hitched and her head snapped up.

“What are you doing?” she whispered with her eyes wide and body locked tight beneath my fingertips.

I smirked. “Helping you relax.”

She shook her head. “I’m not…we’re not?—”

“We are.” I made quick work of undoing my jeans, freeing my dick before my focus was on her again.

Her body betrayed her and when my hands went higher and brushed over her pussy her knees dug into my sides like she already knew how this would end.

“We’re gonna be here for a minute. Might as well make good use of the time.”

Her eyes searched mine like she was about to shut this down so I kissed her again, making her forget everything else. I slipped my fingers past the edge of her panties and used my thumb to circle her clit. Each time I circled it, my dick thickened a little more. Her wetness coated my fingers enough for me to push one inside. Savvy closed her eyes and dropped her head back and I smiled when she sucked in a shaky breath which she released on a moan.

“You feel better, Rebel?”

“Mmhmm.”

“You still scared?”

She lifted her head and narrowed her eyes but didn’t respond so I pinched her clit.

“No, oh shit, no, this is good. This works.”

I moved her panties to the side, lifted her easily, and felt the way her body melted into mine. When she finally sank down on my dick, she moaned and I lost my fucking restraint.

She tensed around me, welcoming the length of my dick, and her pussy was already pulsing. She groaned and rocked forward hard which let me know she was focused on us and not that we were stuck.

“Ride me, Rebel.”

She moaned again and I watched her face while she rolled her hips. The way her eyes remained locked on mine had me about to fucking lose it. I dropped both my hands to her waist and lifted her enough to slip out before I slammed her back down. She groaned and her head dropped back again but she kept rocking her body hard against mine. We fucked hard and fast until she dropped her head against my shoulder and came hard, causing me to explode right after her. She continued to tremble while her pussy spasmed around me. When she lifted her head and gave me a lazy smile, I gripped the back of her neck and brought her mouth to mine, kissing her hard.

Neither of us were thinking about being stuck at the top of this Ferris wheel anymore until the ride lurched forward and the soft jolt pulled both of us back to reality.

Savvy let her forehead rest against my shoulder and her hands trembled as I pressed a kiss to her temple. We didn’t speak as we adjusted, fixing clothes and settling back into our seats with the moment lingering between us. By the time the Ferris wheel reached the bottom, she still hadn’t looked at me.

I was grinning.

The car stopped, the safety bar lifted, and I climbed out first, offering her my hand.

She didn’t take it right away but frowned hard as hell, tugging at her dress. She climbed out and before she could step away, I tucked her firmly under my arm, keeping her right at my side as we walked away from the ride.

Neither of us said a word about what had just happened but we didn’t need to and I sure as hell wasn’t done with her for the night.
