Chapter 19 – Evelyn

EVELYN

Iwas horny.

There, I admitted it. Even if it was a strange thing to admit to myself. Strange to me, at least.

But how could I not be? There was nothing sexier to me than trusting someone, and after Marcus had peeled back layers of his life for me tonight, I wanted to jump his bones.

Watching his arm muscles flex all night throwing axes hadn’t helped either.

And now with the heat of his palm enveloping mine, I was struggling to come up with reasons why I shouldn’t invite him into my apartment.

“Everything okay?” he murmured in my ear as we entered the elevator to their—our—building.

“Just lost in thought,” I murmured back, willing my cheeks not to heat as the elevator rose smoothly. He stood close to me, the heat of his body radiating outwards, and I shivered.

“Cold?” he asked, moving closer and wrapping his arm around my waist.

Cold? The opposite, actually. I was burning up as the elevator swiftly rose to our floor.

I wanted to invite him in, to connect with him in a way we haven’t before, but I couldn’t force the words out of my mouth.

Our relationship felt like it had taken a big step forward tonight, and I wanted to stay in that bubble.

Would I ruin it if I invited him in? Would he even want to come in?

He said he wanted this for the long haul, but there was still a part of me that had been hurt by his actions over the last few months, even if the logical part of me understood.

Plus, I had a hard time initiating sex. I really didn’t have much experience with it prior to the guys.

I had read enough smut books that I had an idea of what I liked and didn’t like, and what I liked was for someone to take charge in the bedroom.

But trusting someone enough to do that? I didn’t have that before the guys, and it was still new to me.

The elevator dinged as it arrived on our floor, and the doors slid open. Adrian’s eyes widened as he stood in the hallway, keys in hand, like he was about to open his front door. He smiled warmly at us.

“Hey, how was the date?”

Seeing Adrian, an idea sprung into my head, and I acted on it before I gave myself time to think it through. “It was great. Do you want to come in and have a drink with us?”

He studied me, then lifted his gaze to Marcus behind me. A silent conversation passed between them before he nodded. “A drink sounds great.”

Adrian approached, and both men flanked me as I fumbled to get my keys out of my jacket pocket. Marcus’s hand was warm on my back, and I sucked in a shaky breath of their pine and vetiver scents. My hands shook slightly as I slid the key into the lock.

Holy fuck, had I just invited them both in?

Inviting them in didn’t mean I had to have sex with them, but I wanted to.

I think. No. I did want to. I just hadn’t thought I would have my first threesome tonight.

I mean, dating four men meant it was bound to happen sooner or later.

And I would be lying if I said I hadn’t fantasized about both Marcus and Adrian at the same time over the years.

Fuck, I was all over the place. I needed to calm down.

Maybe they wouldn’t even want to have sex tonight.

Consent from all parties was important, and all I had done so far was invite them in.

Chilly air enveloped us as we entered my apartment. “Oops, I forgot I cranked down the AC after my workout this morning,” I said, rubbing a hand over my face. The fancy apartment cooled down quickly, and now that the sun was down, it was freezing in here.

“No worries, we’ll take care of it,” Marcus said, guiding me to the couch in front of the gas fireplace.

He switched on the fireplace and moved to the thermostat, fiddling with it for a few seconds before grabbing a soft throw from the basket in the corner and offering it to me.

I shrugged off my jacket, throwing it over the back of the couch, then accepted the blanket and snuggled under it.

Marcus took a seat next to me, and I shifted closer to take advantage of his warmth.

Or at least that’s what I told myself. Glasses clinked behind me as Adrian approached the couch.

He offered me a glass of wine and handed an open beer to Marcus.

He settled on the couch next to me, leaning against the arm as he settled in.

“How was axe throwing?” Adrian asked.

“It was a lot of fun.” I beamed. I had always wanted to try it and never had the time, so it was a perfect first date. “Thank you for taking me.” I looked over at Marcus, giving him a soft smile.

“It was,” Marcus agreed, smiling back. “They had more than axes, though. They also had knives and throwing stars.”

Adrian’s eyebrows rose. “Really? That’s cool. We’ll have to go as a group sometime.”

I grinned. “That would be nice.”

It would be fun to go on a group date. Once we could openly admit we were in a relationship, that is. I pushed thoughts of a certain handsome FIA agent out of my head and focused on the handsome men in the room with me.

I took my shoes off and tucked my feet under the blanket, trying to find a comfortable position.

“Here,” Adrian offered, patting his lap.

He wanted me to put my feet in his lap? I slowly moved my feet as he set his beer on the coffee table. His warm hands wrapped around my ankles, guiding them onto his lap. Marcus leaned forward to set his beer down as well and shifted next to me.

I squeaked as he lifted me slightly, adjusting us until he was leaning against the arm of the couch with my back to his chest so I could stretch out comfortably with my feet on Adrian’s lap.

“This okay?” Marcus’s murmured voice sent a shiver down my spine and straight into my core.

I couldn’t draw a complete breath, and the words stuck in my throat, so I just nodded.

Slowly, I leaned backwards, resting my head on Marcus’s chest. Adrian asked Marcus about the Kenton contract as he rubbed my feet.

My wineglass hung loosely in my fingers as I settled into the couch, letting them both hold me.

I didn’t think I had ever had a foot rub before, but I already wanted another.

His fingers stroked gently but firmly enough that I wasn’t ticklish.

The sensation made me want to fall asleep on Marcus’s chest but also jump them both.

My body couldn’t decide which option I wanted more.

Adrian’s fingers worked against a particularly sore spot at the bottom of my arch, and a low moan slipped out of my lips.

Adrian’s gaze ensnared me, and Marcus stiffened under me.

His arm, which had been wrapped loosely around my waist, tightened across my lower stomach, and I fought not to wriggle.

Marcus rescued my wineglass, which had been dangerously close to tipping, as Adrian’s fingers rubbed over that spot again.

“Has Marcus kissed you yet?” Adrian rumbled. The low tenor of his voice sent heat rolling through me. “After your date?”

“No,” I breathed out, glancing up at Marcus. My breath caught in my throat. His warm green eyes looked like they were set aflame.

“Kiss her,” Adrian ordered.

Marcus lowered his head but paused. “Is this okay?” he asked, and my heart melted. He wanted me, but he was waiting for my permission.

I reached up and pulled his head down until our lips were a breath apart. “Yes,” I breathed out.

That was all the permission Marcus needed to crush his lips to mine, and my mind spun in a million different directions; however, each and every one of them landed on the man whose lips covered mine.

Mr. Strategy himself, always focused, always fierce, and always so impressive.

Even in this moment, I could feel his concentration as if it were an extension of my own.

I shifted in place so I was facing him, barely separating for even a second but needing him closer to my heart.

I straddled him and pulled away, looking up at him and then over at Adrian as I panted like a fool and tried to catch up with the time I lost in the mindless spiral of Marcus.

“Wondering why it took so long?” he said with a small laugh.

“Wondering when he will do that again.”

The smile on Marcus’s face was all I needed. I wrapped my arms around his neck.

“Touch her, Marcus. Make her come.”

He leaned forward and kissed the side of my neck before whispering sweetly, “Tell me to stop if you need to, Eveyln; otherwise I will have no choice but to do what he tells me.”

“To enact his desires?”

“No, to enact mine.”

Marcus’s fingers played at my waistband as if asking permission for what Adrian had ordered, but I knew Marcus’s statement was true. It was what he wanted; it just wasn’t in his nature to take without asking.

I placed my hand over his, providing the permission he was seeking. That was all that he needed. His large hand slipped into my panties, and then his middle finger was inside me. I shivered and ground my hips forward.

“Fuck, I can’t wait to get inside you,” he moaned.

His other hand grasped my ass, pushing me onward with each movement. The playful teasing nature of our night had me so close I was about to lose everything. The couch shifted, then Adrian’s hand slid into mine.

“It’s okay, little warrior. Let go and show Marcus how beautiful you are when you come undone.”

His voice was what I needed; someone to tell me it was fine to be completely unhinged with any one of them.

He was only talking about Marcus, but it felt as if it were something so much more.

Someone’s hand was on my breast as I gripped Marcus’s shoulders.

It wasn’t until I felt the pinch and twist that I realized it was Adrian, and the small spike of pain shot me off the cliff I was teetering on.

I cried out, not a care in the world, as my orgasm hit.

“That’s it, sweetheart. Just like that. Fuck, Adrian, you are right. She is phenomenal.”
