Chapter 40

DERRICK

For the past couple of months, life for the Dirty Texas crew has been a whirlwind.

Let’s start with Olivia and Axel. She hightailed it out of Scotland after finding out her sister got knocked up by her fiancé.

In a stroke of genuineness, she showed her family what a horrible human Penny is, and they agreed and forced her to marry Lord Fuck Face, thus leaving her to rush halfway across the world to her McHottie rock star, and declaring her love for him.

It was sweet. It’s still sweet. Once the dust settled, Olivia and Axel flew back to Scotland so she could introduce her family to Axel.

Things went well and they stayed in Europe for a while, where Axel proposed to Olivia in France.

I knew it. I told her when she went home, she would be coming back a fiancée and I was right, except Axel had to come home as his time was up and he had business to do here.

His lady love had business to attend to in England, and they are pushed apart for a bit.

Penny confessed that Eddie is not the father of her baby, it is a married man.

Who is surprised at this point? Eddie and Penny got an annulment because the baby isn’t his, so Olivia decided the best thing for Penny is to leave England, get away from the scandal, and come with her to LA.

Penny wasn’t given the warmest of welcomes by us, but we are just protective of Olivia.

Eventually, Penny redeemed herself and has become tolerable.

Isla has been having the best time. There are photos of her and Sebastien all over the Spanish tabloids, which has sent Finn into a spiral of groupies.

Guess he now knows what it felt like for Isla for all those years.

Little Miss Tapas confessed that she accidentally slept with Sebastien on Valentine’s Day, but let’s be serious, there was no accident there.

She saw photos of Finn being a dick, and then she fell on one, it’s a tale as old as time.

Things are going to be a little awkward as Isla is coming back to LA soon with Sebastien, as he is in talks with networks for his own show.

Oscar and Stacey are going well, living and working together, basically living their normal, kinky life. I stopped asking questions because the two of them are kind of boring. They go to the club, have fun, and then come home and have fun with each other.

Sienna and Evan found out they are having another boy, which, of course, Evan is happy about. His vision of a football team is slowly coming to life, and Sienna is counting down the days till the baby is out of her. But we all know Evan is going to knock her up again as soon as humanly possible.

And Christian and Vanessa are gearing up for the twins’ arrival. I pray for them every day because they are going to have their hands full with those two little girls.

Vanessa and Christian have gone to the hospital today to have their babies. I’m hanging out at Sienna and Evan’s place because how the hell can I work today, knowing I’m about to become an uncle again?

“I’m so nervous for her, the little one is doing somersaults in my stomach.” Sienna groans, grabbing her moving belly.

“He’s a lady killer like his father, and can’t wait to see his new girlfriends.” I chuckle.

“Vanessa and Sienna already have our kids married off. Don’t tell me you’re all for this idea.” Evan moans.

“Wouldn’t that be cute?” I ask him.

“Can you imagine Christian and me as fathers-in-law?” Evan asks.

“Totally, but it’s X-rated.”

Evan throws a pillow at me, making me squeal when it hits me in the face. Guess I deserved that.

“I think it would be sweet. Ness and I as grandparents together,” Sienna says, getting lost in the fantasy.

“They could end up hating each other,” Evan adds.

“Oh, enemy to lovers, hot,” I tease.

Evan shakes his head at me.

Our phones buzz, and it’s from Christian. The girls are here, and he’s sent through photos and told us we can come up in a couple of hours to visit them.

Uncle Derrick is on his way.

We have a huge bouquet of flowers for Vanessa as we enter the hospital via the VIP entrance, so as not to alert the paparazzi, who are desperate for the news about the twins.

Ness looks exhausted but deliriously happy as does Christian, who is prancing around like he did something extraordinary today, not that all his contribution to it all was a pump and dump.

“Congrats,” I squeal, rushing over, placing the vase of flowers beside her before embracing my friend.

“I did it, D. They are here,” Vanessa says, tearing up.

“I’m so proud of you. You’re a fucking warrior,” I tell her, pressing my forehead against her own.

“I can’t believe they are here. They are fricken perfect.”

“Of course they are, look at who their parents are.” Trying to contain my own emotions, I fail miserably.

“Derrick!” Christian sees me and rushes over and hugs me. “I’m a daddy,” he says excitedly.

“You’ve always been a daddy to me,” I tease, making him laugh. “Show me these gorgeous little poppets.” He proudly takes me over to where the two little cherubs are lying asleep. They are all pink and squishy, and I just want to eat them.

“Did you want to hold one?” Christian asks.

“Can I?”

“Of course, you’re Uncle Derrick,” he says, and boom crash, there goes my heart. Christian picks up one of the twins, not sure who, and hands her to me, she is so tiny in my arms. I didn’t think I could love anything as much as I love Ryder, but I do. My heart is full.

“Hey there, little one. I’m your Uncle Derrick, and I am going to take you shopping, and we are going to get our nails done, and you are going to come to me with all your problems, and I’m not going to tell Mum and Dad. Your secrets are safe with me,” I whisper to her.

“Are you corrupting our girls already?” Vanessa teases.

“No. I am letting them know Uncle Derrick is a safe space.”

Movement at the door catches our attention, and in walks Axel and Olivia.

“Congratulations, family,” Axel says excitedly as he rushes over to his twin and hugs him, while Olivia gives flowers to Vanessa and catches up with her. “Fuck, they are so tiny,” he says, staring in awe at the girls.

“Did you want a cuddle?” Christian asks. Axel looks terrified. “You’re her uncle daddy.”

“Uncle Daddy?” Axel questions his twin.

“Yeah. Because basically my kids are your kids, ’cause we have the same DNA.” Christian grins. Axel looks scared, and I can’t help but giggle.

“Don’t ever call me that again, it sounds like a porn name,” Axel says, shaking his head.

“What kind of porn have you been watching, Axel?” I tease.

“Hey, no speaking about porn in front of my girls, have some decorum.” Christian hisses at us.

He picks up the other twin and hands her carefully to Axel, who holds her like she’s a bomb about to explode.

“Don’t hold her like that,” Christian chastises his brother and shows him the right way to hold the baby.

“I’m an uncle.” Axel stares down at the little bundle in his arms. I glance over at where Olivia is standing, and the way she is looking at Axel holding the tiny baby against his tattooed arms, I can see her ovaries popping in real time.

They are so going to go home and make babies after this.

“They are so little,” Axel says in awe as one of the baby’s little fingers wraps around his. “They are so perfect.”

“Welcome to the club, man,” Evan says, slapping Christian on the back.

“Not long until you have two to match.” Christian nudges him.

“Not sure how you’re going to handle two babies at once, it was hard enough with one.” Evan moans.

“It’s called helpers.”

“So, what did you name them?” I ask because no one has dropped the names yet.

“Sadie and Ruby,” Vanessa states with a huge smile on her face from her hospital bed.

I’m dead. They are the cutest names.

“Those names are gorgeous.” Sienna smiles, rubbing her extremely large belly.

“You’d better keep those Wyld boys away from my girls,” Christian warns Evan.

“Um … I think your Taylor girls are going to be trouble. I don’t want them corrupting my boys, thank you very much,” Evan teases back.

“I can’t believe the two biggest manwhores are married and popping out kids,” Finn jokes.

“Watch what you say in front of my daughters. They don’t need to know what their stupid daddy did before Mommy,” Christian says, punching Finn in the arm.

“Going to be a bit hard when they can look things up on the internet,” Oscar adds.

“That’s it, no internet for my girls,” Christian demands.

I suggested to Axel that while Vanessa is healing, we should go over and help for a couple of hours so everyone could have a nap, and he agreed and said he would meet me at their place. As soon as I walk in, the sound of screaming greets me. Who knew those little munchkins could be so loud?

“Yes, and she’s been fed, and I played with her. I also took her for a walk. I don’t understand why Sadie won’t stop crying. It’s Sadie, isn’t it?” Christian asks Vanessa, sounding panicked.

“Check her wrist,” I hear Vanessa tell him. Because they are identical, they decided to leave the hospital bands on their wrists until they got new ones, so they could identify which twin was which, and if I’m being honest, it’s a godsend because they are copy-paste images of each other.

I pop my head into the nursery to check what’s going on.

“Oh my god, Uncle Derrick is here.” Christian sounds relieved as I scoop up little Sadie from his arms, and she stops crying instantly. He stares at me in wonderment and relief.

“What can I say? Chicks dig me.” I walk over to the pink leather feeding chair and start rocking the little princess. Once Sadie is knocked out, I place her back in her crib and walk out.
