Chapter 30
Doc
“Fucker, stop fidgeting,” Stone mumbles from beside me as I pull on the collar of my shirt for the hundredth time, swallowing hard.
Fuck, I’m nervous.
When I walked into her room today at the vet, I was cocky, I had no fear whatsoever. But of course her mama had to shock the shit outta us. Admitting a secret from over twenty fucking years ago to wipe all the fucking cockiness I had going on.
I feel for the woman, I really do. Shadow wanted her, and he made sure he got her even though she was with someone else.
Anchor went through the same thing with his mystery girl.
She was seeing someone, and he wanted her, but unfortunately for him, she apparently went back to him, but not without ensuring she knew he hadn’t killed his heart.
He made sure months ago that she’d walk in on him fucking another woman in the strip club and he hasn’t seen her since. He’s gone down a rabbit hole, following Trigger down in the self-pity road.
I take a deep breath and look across the lake, seeing our family waiting anxiously. Bailey is in my mama’s arms, which, thankfully, Kathleen, who stands next to her, who also looks nervous, understands.
Hearing her confession, seeing the pain that etched over my girl’s face, fuck, I could have cursed Kathleen out.
Today of all days, a day she knew I was planning, she just had to tell her daughter about her daddy.
Now I’m beginning to think this was a bad idea, that maybe I should postpone.
“What if she says no?” I voice my concerns, “Maybe we should just call it off for a few weeks, and I’ll treat her to the date I promised.”
Stone snorts, and I look at him as he shakes his head, a smile on his face.
“You chose another woman over her for the club who also made her lose her memories for months, and she forgave you, she isn’t saying no,” he says, and I take a deep breath running my hands through my hair with nerves.
“Besides,” he mumbles, “I got myself fucking ordained for this shit. It’s happening.”
I chuckle and look around at the scenery.
He’s standing underneath an arch full of pink and red roses, Brit’s favorite, the lake behind him, and rose petals line the grass like a walkway.
Everyone from the club is here, except for Ashley, much to Trigger's dismay, and even better, the Untamed, Brit’s second family are here as well.
I lock eyes with Axel in the distance, he grins widely while his old lady basically jumps with excitement, Max and Angel with bows sitting next to them.
Couldn’t marry my girl without her stolen cat and dog now, could I?
“Could be worse,” I say as I look at Stone, “It could be Thunder standing there.”
He grimaces before side-eyeing a pouting Thunder.
“How in the fuck did he fill the form out wrong?” he asks, and I shrug because I have no idea.
“I’m just grateful he did,” I admit quietly, “Could you imagine the shit he’d say?”
Stone chuckles before the sound of gravel hits our ears. I freeze as I look towards the parking lot, my soon-to-be wife pulling up.
“Fuck, here we go,” I mutter, and he whispers, “she’ll say yes, brother…”
I fucking hope he’s right.
Judge Jones managed to get the license without her signature within hours after I called him, explaining what I wanted to do. I’m pretty sure I heard him mutter, ‘about time too’, which wouldn’t surprise me.
We grew up with the man, and instead of joining the club like everyone wanted, he went to law school and got us brothers out of a lot of shit over the years.
“Breathe, brother,” Stone mutters, I swallow the lump forming as Brit slowly climbs out of her car. Her brows furrowed as she takes in the scene, our family beginning to walk toward her before her eyes widen, seeing the Untamed.
The dress Mama picked out for her fits her like a glove, showing off all those delicious curves I love so much. The off-white silk dress reaches the floor, only being held up by mini silver loop chains over her shoulders, the fabric ruffled a little over her tits.
Her hair is down and straight, her makeup is light. She’s fucking gorgeous.
Her eyes come my way in shock, tears already shining, and I smirk.
“Asher,” she chokes as Sky bounces up to her, handing her a bouquet of flowers made by Daisy despite her no longer in the business. She kisses her cheek then goes back to Flame. A few tears fall from Brit's gorgeous sapphire eyes while Shadow walks over to his daughter, smiling.
She doesn’t take her eyes off me as her dad takes her hand and loops it through his arm, then slowly begins to walk her my way, down the aisle.
I lick my bottom lip as Bailey’s babble echoes around us, along with Lily, Rose, and Stone's daughter.
“Hey, Tinkerbell,” I whisper when Shadow stops in front of me, and her eyes race between mine.
“What did you do?” she chokes, I smile as Shadow kisses her cheek, grinning my way he steps back, taking his wife in his arms, whose tears soak her cheeks.
I lock eyes with my girl and I ask, “You going to marry me, Tinkerbell?”
She lets out a sob as she looks around and sees her family, the people she loves, surrounding her, but giggles when she sees Angel on a leash next to Max.
Couldn’t risk the little shit running off.
She looks at Stone and giggles some more, seeing him with a notebook, and he smirks as she looks my way again and asks, “What are we waiting for?”
I grin widely, and everyone cheers around us as I take my girl's hand. Meghan, acting as her maid of honor, takes her bouquet and kisses her cheek.
“Alright, family, family and family,” Stone announces, gaining a chuckle out of everyone, and Brit grins, locking eyes with me squeezing my hands.
“We’re gathered here today, where I thankfully managed to fill out the ordination forms correctly, unlike someone –”
Thunder cuts Stone off, “Not fucking cool, brother…” Before he grunts as Mama snaps, “Language around the babies,” gaining a bigger laugh from everyone.
I shake my head while Brit smile on her face, it is fucking everything.
Stone continues, ignoring Thunders outburst, “We’re here today for a surprise wedding for a woman who has been through so much.
Allowing her man to keep their relationship a secret, finding out she was pregnant and then lost her memories.
She still made her way back to the person she gave her heart too, giving him faith that he’ll be there for her always. ”
Brit’s tears fall and I step closer to her, wiping them away as I cup her cheek.
“Today,” Stone says softly, “we’re making a wrong decision right, we’re finally bringing two people who had so much pressure on their shoulders together. Not just in the eyes of the law, but also the club,” he looks at me, “Now Doc has something to say before we get to the rings.”
I swallow as I lock eyes with Brit.
“I love you,” I say, and she smiles and replies, “I love you too.”
I grin before I continue, “I knew as soon as I walked into your parents' home, seeing you holding a fire poker and threatening me to drop Angel, that you were going to consume me. When you admitted to stealing her, I knew you were my one.”
The brothers laugh as Brit shakes her head, her cheeks heating.
“I made many, so fucking many mistakes over the past few years with you, with us,” I say quietly, “I thought I had to shoulder the hardship of the club, to shoulder the pressure I was being put under on my own. When I finally found you again, you had finally found yourself. I’ve come to realize, I didn’t have to shoulder it all on my own, because I had you and nearly losing you, it was my greatest mistake.
I love you, Brittany, only you and the thought of not spending the rest of my life with you, it’s terrifying. ”
“Asher,” she whispers, a few more tears falling, and I wipe them away again.
“Today, like Stone said, I’m making a wrong a right. I’m making you my wife, my old lady, I’m making sure you see that I’m never going to let you go again, that my whole life, my whole world is revolving around you, our daughter, and how many other kids we have.”
“I love you,” she chokes, and I smile as Stone clears his throat and rasps, “Rings.”
I turn and grab the rings from Trigger, who gives me a small smile. I smile back before looking at Brit. I hand her the black one, smiling seeing her name engraved on the outline.
“Doc, repeat after me and don’t fucking ask how I know this,” Stone mutters, and I snort, and he states, “I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you.”
I repeat as I slowly push the white gold band full of diamonds, “I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you.”
Brit grins widely, and Stone orders softly, “Brit, copy me. I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you.”
Brit whispers softly, repeating his words, “I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you,” and pushes the ring on my finger, and I grab her hands in mine, my heart pounding with so much fucking love.
“And now I, by the online ministry of the state of Louisiana, pronounce you husband and wife, Doc, you may kiss the bride,” Stone says, and I grin and mutter, “Fucking finally,” before I pull Brit into me, cup her cheek, pressing my lips against hers.
She melts into me as she grips my cut, everyone cheers loudly, clapping and I smile into the kiss.
“I love you, you crazy man,” she giggles against my lips, and I grin as I wrap my arms around her and lift her up, before twirling her.
“I love you so fucking much, Tinkerbell,” I whisper as I drop her feet to the ground and cup her cheek, placing my forehead against hers.
“So what happens now?” she asks coyly, and I grin.
“We have the wedding reception then tonight, Mama is taking Bailey and I’m spending the night inside you.” I admit.
“And after that, we live happily ever after?” she asks as she grips my cut.
I murmur, “And ever and ever with at least five kids.”
Her eyes widen, and I laugh before pressing my lips against hers, feeling so fucking happy and as shocked as she is by my answer.
Five kids is what she ends up giving me, along with several animals that she rescued from work, filling our house with so much love that I can’t even be mad at her for it.
This woman, she’s my world I’m one lucky fucker that she forgave me.
