Revelations

Karma

I missed Banff.

The lakes were bluer than the sky above, the air was crisp, the wildlife invoked awe, and I had so much good sex that it left me high for days.

Unfortunately Canada was strict on immigration and we both had jobs.

However, Angie had plans to take me back.

Just as soon as we got over the holidays.

Originally we had every intention of skipping the Fourth of July picnic, but for some reason, everyone was insistent that we showed face. Char called me twice a week just to make sure I was still coming, her mama too, and hell even Bonnie rang me once or twice.

Personally I was freaked the fuck out, but for some reason Angie wasn’t worried. Honestly he hadn’t cared about much since we came back from Banff. If I wasn’t actively in distress, he was floating.

I never thought I’d see the day when Angelo Jacobs wasn’t a high-strung perfectionist.

Yet here we were.

“Angie, I think I forgot to add mayo to the potato salad,” I frowned as we climbed into the car.

“It’s fine, baby. I’m sure Mimi has a jar in that overpacked ass fridge. We’ll just add some there.”

“I don’t know,” I admitted. “I have a bad feeling about today. The vibe feels kind of off.”

“Does it?” he asked while buckling me in.

“Ang, it does. What’s up with you, by the way? Why are you so lax about everything lately?”

“Because two weeks ago you spent four days sucking my soul through the tip of my dick. Or did you forget?”

“I did not,” I sighed. “But I do feel like we should be cautious today.”

“I’m not worried, Karma,” Angie shrugged. “Can’t nobody beat my ass, and if anyone so much as touches a hair on your head, I’ll burn all that shit down.”

He pecked my temple, threw the car in drive, and turned on our roadtrip playlist. As if nothing else in the world mattered.

How weird.
