Chapter 12 #2

Laura nodded, agreeing with her girlfriend. “I’ve heard he has a little sister too. I swear, if I wasn’t a lesbian, I would’ve kissed him. He’s such a daddy material.”

Sure, please talk about my best friend like that when I am sitting just beside you.

“Agreed,” said Carmella. “Imagining that makes my ovaries explode.”

Okay, that’s my cue. I quickly stood up with a cookie in my hand and walked back into the house.

* * *

It was evening and everyone was half-naked, either swimming or getting tanned lying on the lounge chairs.

Sadly, I couldn’t wear a bikini because of the hickeys, so I had opted for a swimsuit and blushed every time Ethan glanced my way.

Katherine couldn’t stop giggling and nudging my shoulder every time his eyes met mine.

“Hey, Kiara, how are you, love?” Helen, Ethan’s mother, grinned from my phone screen when I waved at her.

“I am great. How is Julia and what’s little Evey doing?” I grinned and walked over to Ethan, who was talking to Ryan and his friends. I showed him who I was talking to and his face lit up. He grabbed my hand and took me with him inside the farmhouse, over to a corner.

Helen talked with her son, her afro bouncing as she walked toward her wife, Julia, who was holding Eveline. Eveline had fair skin with blond curls just like her mother, Julia, and had similar striking gray eyes. She was babbling on her lap, flailing her arms as Ethan baby-talked with her.

“Ean! Ean! Ean! Ean!” she said, her tiny fingers trying to grab her brother’s face through the screen and whining when she couldn’t.

Ethan seemed so happy as he grinned and talked to his sister and mothers. He turned to me. “She missed you too.”

She did. Eveline was trying to grab both of us from the screen while Helen tried not to let her hold the phone in her small chubby hands and Julia soothed their daughter.

“We will be back by tomorrow, love,” Julia said. “I hope you will take care of yourself until then. Both of you.”

Ethan nudged me. “Kiara is taking good care of me and Mrs. Sharma invited me for lunch tomorrow, so don’t worry about me. Have a safe journey. I love you. Ma, I think Evey just made her poop face.”

They quickly said their goodbyes to us and ended the call because their daughter had nature’s call.

“You miss her.”

He smiled at me. “Of course I miss her. It’s the first time she’s away from me for more than a day.”

Tipping on my toes, I pinched his cheeks. “Aw, you poor little guy,” I cooed, ignoring his playful glare. “Don’t worry, I will—ah!”

I squealed with laughter when Ethan pushed me on the wall. “I am little now?” he asks playfully, his hands lowering to my ribs.

“I know you’re far from little, Ethan,” I said, glancing down at his swim trunks, and licked my lips, shivering when his fingers trailed over my waist. “What are you doi—no, Ethan!”

He grinned like the monster he was and tickled me. My throaty laugh bubbled out of me. I writhed in his arms, chuckling and giggling while trying to get away from him, but he was merciless when it came to tickle fights.

I begged, gasping for air, “Ethan, no, stop!”

His mismatched eyes twinkled with mischief and he stepped closer. “Then say ‘Ethan’s the sexiest man alive’.”

He did not just—Who the fuck says that? Apparently this big oaf.

I nodded, my fingers gripping his muscled forearms. “You’re the sexiest man alive, happy?”

He smiled, pressing his body closer, and a shiver passed through my body when I felt every inch of his hard muscles on my stomach, his warm breath on my neck.

“Very. Now say ‘Ethan, I want extra inches in my lower—”

Shaking my head, I interrupted him, “No, I am not going to say that. Nuh-uh.”

Ethan chuckled, burying his face in the crook of my neck, and took a deep breath.

I smiled and ran my hand through his hair, kissing his neck and biting his ear.

He took a sharp breath and I kissed his jaw.

He tilted his head and closed his eyes when our lips locked with each other.

I sighed and pulled him closer, his hands running down my back, our bodies molding with each other.

When we pulled away, his pupils were so dilated that his blue-green eyes seemed almost black. “Swim with me?” he asked.

“Sure,” I said. “Seems like I need some swim lessons, anyway.”

Ethan didn’t appreciate my dry humor.

He clenched his jaw and said, “Don’t . . . don’t say that, Kiara. It was his fault—”

I pulled away. “Let’s go for a swim.” I walked away from him and toward the sliding doors, leaving him confused.

How could I lie to Ethan? And tell him that it wasn’t Liam’s fault. It was my fault.

* * *

“Hey, are you all right?”

My arms stopped doing the backstrokes and my feet touched the cold tiles when I glanced at Ethan. He looked worried and his bottom lip was trapped between his teeth.

No, I am not all right when you turn me on by doing nothing. I needed to have a grip on myself.

“Yes, Ethan, I am fine,” I said, pretending that being close to him didn’t affect me.

I thought of something and snickered, “You know Carmella and Laura think you are a daddy material.”

He blinked at me, his cheeks flushing red. “What?”

I shook my head, scolding myself for opening my mouth. We were alone in the pool. Everyone was inside the farmhouse and preparing the dinner and playing video games.

“Well, they think you are good with kids, which, by the way, you are and that you are a daddy material. What are you doing?” I whispered breathily when he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

I could feel his heart beat rapidly under my palm, and I wondered if he could feel my hard nipples poking through my wet swimsuit.

Ethan brushed a lock of my wet hair and asked, “Do you think I am a daddy material?”

“No, that’s gross, E.” I cringed. “It reminds me of my father because I call him daddy sometimes.” I shuddered. “Can we please stop talking about that?”

He grinned and I narrowed my eyes at him. He turned serious and nodded. “Okay, kitten.”

Asswipe.

I chuckled and playfully hit his chest. “Not funny, daddy.” I tried to joke, but I ended up scrunching my face.

Ethan laughed, his wet hair falling on his forehead as his eyes crinkled with humor. “You should’ve seen your face. It was precious!”

I huffed and like a mature adult I was, I splashed water on his face.

He quickly stopped laughing, running a hand over his face, and I giggled. He opened his eyes and glared at me. “You’re dead.”

I poked my tongue at him. “You have to catch me first, loser!”

I swam away from him and I knew he would catch me soon, so I moved my arms faster, a big grin plastered on my face. I squealed when his hand wrapped around my ankle and gently tugged me toward him. I was laughing and covering my face when he splashed water on me.

Ethan was laughing with me when I splashed water on him and eventually, we stopped grinning at each other like lunatics, wet hair draping our faces as water lapped over our bodies. I combed back his hair while his fingers tucked the wet strands of my hair from my face.

He didn’t move his hand from my cheek and my eyes fell on his lips.

I leaned closer and cupped his sharp jaw as our eyes met, full of hunger and lust. He leaned down and I pulled him closer, our lips meeting halfway as we kissed.

His tongue ran over the seams of my bottom lip and I opened my mouth, my hands threading in his hair while his wandered over my body.

I moaned in his mouth when the kiss turned from gentle to more passionate and rough.

He tilted his head, deepening our kiss, and a small growl escaped from his throat.

I could feel him poking my inner thigh and I wanted nothing more than to please him.

When we pulled away, we were both breathing heavily, lips swollen and eyes hazy.

“Wow,” I managed to whisper.

“I want to kiss you again. And again. And again. And again,” he said, peppering butterfly kisses on my cheeks, nose, jaw, and the column of my neck.

I giggled, feeling ticklish on my neck as his damp hair brushed over my skin. Before I could say anything, we heard footsteps and the sliding of the door being opened. We pulled away when we saw Rio walking toward us.

“Dinner’s ready!”

Ethan scratched his neck and I hid my erect nipples with my hair as we said we would be out in a second.

“You both have an unhealthy relationship with water,” he noted and shook his head with a small grin. He winked at Ethan and strolled back in the house.

I quickly grabbed Ethan’s face, kissed him on the lips, and said, “Come on.”

He blinked at me as I made my way to a couple of stairs when I felt a sharp smack on my butt. I gasped and turned around, my eyes wide.

Ethan smirked at me. “Of course, kitten.”

He was biting his lower lip to hold back his laugh when I narrowed my eyes at him. I decided to play along for one last time and said, “Not funny, daddy.”
