Chapter 16 #2

I chuckled, shaking my head at Eveline when she raised her arms, trying to grab my hair with her tiny little fingers. Her eyes were gray with specks of blue in them and her hair was blond like Julia’s.

“No, baby. I am not your mama, she is out with your other mama. I am Kiara,” I said in a baby voice and threw the diaper in the dustbin.

Washing my hands in the sink, I walked back to the crib where Ethan's sister was on her stomach, her baby-soft buttocks in the air dusted with the powder.

She babbled some excited chants as I grinned at her, helping the fresh diaper up her legs, and helped her wear a cute baby blue pajama with little bananas over them.

“Mama!” she grumbled and held the strand of my hair in her tiny fist while I was pushing her soft leg in the baby blue pajama.

“Owowow. Don’t, Evey.” I carefully disentangled my hair from her hands and made a lazy bun on top of my head. “I don't know why you and your brother love my hair. The secret is coconut oil.” I smiled and gathered her in my arms.

Eve grinned and flailed her arms hearing her big brother's name. “Mama!” I felt my heart thudding in my chest when she snuggled her face in my neck.

“Not mama. I am Kiara, love. Kee-aa-raa. Come on, say it with me.” I bobbed her in my arms, taking her in the living room.

“Aahaahaahaahaah!” she squealed, screaming ‘aah’ and flailing her limbs as I set us down on the soft fluffy rug. I chuckled with her and wiped the saliva slobbered on her cheek and jaw.

She was sleeping when Rio dropped me off, and her mom, Julia, was about to leave when I came knocking on the door.

“Aren’t you a little bundle of joy?” I asked, tickling her. She laughed in her baby voice still screaming ‘aah.’

When I pulled out her toys, she forgot me completely and focused her attention on them. I started completing my English essay and made sure Eveline didn't put any toys in her mouth.

It was around six in the evening when Ethan came holding three bags of groceries, one duffle bag, and his school backpack.

“Aw, my two lovely and beautiful girls are together!” he exclaimed and pecked my cheek when I stood up to help him with the bags before he crawled like a horse toward his little sister as she squealed in delight seeing her brother.

I chuckled, keeping the bags on the marble island, noticing that he brought my coconut body wash, which I must've forgotten to buy. Well.

“Go and wash your hands first, Mister. She will get your cooties,” I said, hearing Eve baby talk with Ethan, telling him how her day went while he listened carefully with a grin plastered on his beautiful face.

Ethan looked up and prowled toward me with a devilish glint in his eyes when he raked his eyes on my body from top to bottom, licking his lips. Eveline forgot about her brother and played with the toy horse.

“I missed you in my arms,” he muttered before wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into a kiss, making my toes curl in pleasure.

I kissed him back eagerly, my hands resting on the nape of his neck as I tipped on my toes. He moved his face to angle my head and deepened the kiss when I released a soft moan in his mouth.

“Ethan,” I breathed pulling away when he started kissing down my throat. “Ethan, go take a shower first.” I successfully pulled away and stepped back from his body so I didn’t jump on him and I could properly function my brain.

What’s two plus two? Seven. Fuck. What the hell, brain.

Ethan scowled playfully. “So, that’s it? You won’t kiss me because I stink?” He wasn't even stinking in the first place.

I played along with him. “Yes, Ethan! You were definitely sweating, but Jesus Christ, that manly scent all over you is turning me on. And you should take a shower if you want to play with Evey. Or me.”

He rolled his eyes and grinned, pecking me on the lips. “All right, drama queen. I will go take a shower. Don’t you disappear on me.”

“I won’t.”

After Ethan took a shower and changed into his sweatpants, he played with Evey. I shamelessly stared at him when he slowly explained to her how a mechanical clock worked.

Eve was comfortably sitting on her brother’s lap, who looked ten times bigger than her as her curious eyes looked at the second's hand. I smiled, adoring them. There was something hot and sexy about a man in sweatpants playing with a baby in baby blue banana pajama that turned me on.

Christ, Kiara! At least stop when Eveline is around.

“You are eye-pussying me, aren’t you?”

I blushed with embarrassment when I met Ethan’s curious dark eyes. Eveline jumped in his lap, looking at us. “Eye—what? Have you been talking to Katherine? Don't say such crude things around your baby sister, right, Evey?”

I took Eveline in my arms when she willingly hugged me. Ethan said that it was because I have tatas (he said it) and whenever she went with any female, she thought she'd get food. Which I highly doubt.

Ethan narrowed his eyes at Eve and me. “Yes, she told me you do that a lot when I am around. And Evey won't get what we are saying, right?”

We both looked down at her and her gray eyes twinkled. She squealed, flailing her tiny arms. “Pussy!”

Well, she couldn't exactly pronounce it correctly, but it was clear what she was trying to blabber.

I stopped breathing and snapped my head at Ethan, whose ears turned red. “S-she doesn't get that, does she?” he stuttered.

“Pussypussypussypussy!”

I gulped nervously. “Ethan, what did you do?”

“Pussy!”

I wanted to tell her that sadly he hadn’t done that. Yet.

“I can handle her. Come here, Evey.”

Eveline hid her head in my neck instead and I smirked when his face fell. “Aw, look, she doesn't want to go with you,” I said playfully, wriggling my eyebrows.

“Evey,” he called out to his sister, but all he received was a loud shriek of ‘pussy.’

I laughed, clutching Evey in my arms and watching Ethan's eye darken. “She just said you are a pussy, Ethan. Such a great sister.”

“Oh, you’re dead.”

I chuckled, getting on my heels, and made a dash toward the kitchen. Evey shrieked in her baby voice when her brother followed me at a slow pace, making monster noises.

“You have to catch me first.” I stuck my tongue at him as we circled around the island, my hands taking care of Evey and protecting her head.

Ethan growled playfully and pounced on me, but I ducked and Evey let out a loud giggle. I loved it when he was playing with his sister.

“Run before the monster eats us.” I giggled, dashing inside his room, and soon he caught up to me. I squealed when he picked me up and gently laid me down on his bed, his sister still in my arms.

Eveline laughed when Ethan tickled her, and I couldn't help but grin stupidly at them. Also because I couldn’t move. He was straddling my hips. When she crawled toward the headboard, Ethan looked down at me, his hair touching my forehead.

“Now, your turn,” he replied in his husky voice, which sent shivers down my core.

I panicked. “Ethan—don’t. Ah!”

He tickled my sides and I could hear Eve’s giggles mixed with my laugh while her brother tickled me mercilessly. He finally stopped, nuzzling his nose in the column of my neck while I panted for air.

“Kiara?”

I finally opened my eyes. “Hm?”

Ethan said, “I am going to kiss you.”

He didn’t give me a chance to reply when his lips met mine in a scorching kiss. I tugged his hair, pulling him closer, and wrapped my legs around his waist when he angled his jaw to deepen the kiss, his teeth nibbling on my lower lip.

We had to pull away breathing heavily because Eveline started crying. When I sat up, straightening my clothes and hair, Ethan tried to soothe her, holding her in his big arms, but she started crying more.

“Is she okay?” I asked worriedly.

“I don't know.” He tried to shush her and walk around his room, but then Eveline started hitting her brother's broad chest with her tiny fists.

I took her in my arms, soothing her down, and she stopped crying. I smiled at his worried face. “Don’t frown. Maybe she thought you were really a monster and eating me.”

Ethan furrowed his eyebrows. “But I was just kissing you.”

I nodded, rubbing her back. “I know. But she’s too little to know that.”

Eveline fell asleep in my arms and I tucked her in her crib, kissing her cheek.

Volt came over to whine about Becky, his crush, who declined him when he asked her to take her out this weekend and asked Ethan for bro-support, whatever that was.

He asked Rio to come, but he stuttered and said he couldn’t come, making some bad excuse, and hung up.

Ethan started preparations for dinner when his mothers came, chatting with Volt and me. Katherine was on a date with Ryan and scolded Volt for ruining our—mine and Ethan’s—chances to bang.

I went to the kitchen and saw him chopping tomatoes.

I cringed at the sight of the red vegetable and wrapped my arms around his back.

Ethan's body tensed, but then he relaxed and looked over his shoulder with an easy smile.

Leaving the knife, he turned and held me in his arms. I sighed with content, comfort, and the musky scent of his cologne.

It was a good thing that Volt or his mothers wouldn't be able to see us from the living room.

Keeping his index finger—the one that wasn't covered in tomato—under my chin, he made me look up at him and brushed his soft lips against mine. I reached up and pressed my lips on his. He opened his mouth and tightened his arms around me, his tongue licking the seams of my lips.

Ethan pulled away, keeping his forehead on mine. “Kiara, your eyes are red. Did you take a nap?” He looked worried, glancing between my eyes.

I bit my lip. “No, I didn’t, but it’s fine. I can—"

He pecked my lips softly. "Don't you think you should get some rest? You didn't sleep last night, this morning and you look exhausted. Maybe you can take a nap while—”

No. Stop. Please. Shut up!

I gulped and pulled away from him, keeping my distance. Something flashed in his eyes, but I smiled. "Yeah, I do. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Hey," he whispered, taking a step closer, trying to hold my hand, but I stepped away. "You all right? At least have dinner with us."

I turned back after slinging my backpack over my one shoulder. I exhaled sharply. "I am fine. It's fine, I'll eat something at home." I smiled at him and walked out of the apartment, ignoring Volt.

Why do I always lie?
