Chapter 39
Chapter Thirty-Nine
Milo
Sienna is curled against my side like she was made to fit there, one leg thrown over mine, her head tucked under my chin. Her breathing is slow and even, warm little puffs against my chest.
I don’t move.
I just lie there, letting the quiet morning settle over me, memorizing every detail—the weight of her body, the way her curls tickle my skin, the tiny little freckles dusting her nose.
She feels like home in a way I’ve never let myself want before.
She stirs, nuzzling closer with a soft, sleepy sound that tightens my chest. When she cracks one eye open and sees me already awake, propped against the headboard with my laptop awkwardly balanced on my thigh, a sleepy grin spreads across her face.
“I knew you were the type to bring color-coded spreadsheets to bed,” she mumbles, her voice husky from sleep and last night’s screaming. “It’s insanely hot.”
I chuckle and close the laptop, setting it aside. “Some of us have actual work to do, even on vacation.”
“You certainly put in the work last night,” she teases, stretching languidly. The sheet slips down, revealing the curve of her bare shoulder and the faint marks I left on her skin.
I smile, remembering how she rode my face and how she looked when she came so hard she couldn’t speak. Leaning forward, I press a lingering kiss to her bare shoulder. “Hmm. You’re so beautiful.”
She laughs softly. “Even with sleep crusted in my eyes?”
I look into those beautiful doe-brown eyes and nod. “Even with sleep crusted in your eyes,” I confirm, pressing a kiss to her forehead, then to her lips.
We linger in bed a little longer, trading lazy kisses and soft touches. My hand strokes up and down her back. Hers traces mindless patterns across my chest. Every brush of skin feels like a promise we’re both too scared to say out loud yet.
Eventually, she sighs and sits up, the sheet pooling around her waist, breasts on full display. I can’t tear my eyes away.
I’ll never get over how utterly beautiful she is.
She catches me staring, and a sleepy smile tugs at her lips. “Shower?”
“Together?” I murmur, running my tongue across my lower lip as I watch her nipples pebble under my stare.
She grins, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Tempting, but if we shower together, I’ll be late meeting the girls.”
“Then why’d you phrase it like you were asking me to shower with you?”
“I don’t know.” She laughs, the sound warm and husky.
I groan dramatically, reaching out to grab her waist and pull her back down before she can escape. “Five more minutes.”
She laughs again, trying to wiggle free, but I’m already rolling on top of her, pinning her gently with my weight. “Milo! I have to get ready!”
“Not yet,” I murmur, nuzzling into her neck and pressing open-mouth kisses along her throat. “You smell too good, and you’re warm, and I’m too selfish.”
She squirms beneath me, giggling as my stubble scratches her skin. “You’re impossible.”
Humming against her throat, I slide my hands down her sides and start tickling her properly—fingers digging in with just the right pressure, skittering lightly over her ribs and waist. Her reaction is immediate.
“Milo!” she squeals, body jerking and twisting beneath me as bright laughter spills out of her. “Stop! That’s not fair!”
I grin against her neck and don’t let up, shifting between quick, fluttering touches and firmer digs at her ticklish spots. She twists and writhes, legs kicking playfully until they wrap tight around my hips, pulling me closer rather than pushing me away.
“Say you’ll stay in bed with me for five more minutes and I’ll stop.”
“Milo, stop—I can’t breathe!” She gasps between fits of giggles, hands shoving weakly at my shoulders while her curls fly everywhere. Her cheeks are flushed pink, eyes sparkling with pure joy.
God, I love the sound of her laugh. It’s loud, uninhibited, and lights up her whole face. I could listen to it forever.
“Wrong answer,” I tease, tickling her a little more intensely until she’s breathless and squirming wildly beneath me. “You still have time to change it.”
“Okay—okay! Five minutes!” She finally surrenders, still giggling as I ease up and collapse beside her. She turns to face me, cheeks rosy, breathing hard, but smiling so wide it makes my chest ache. “You’re the worst.”
I don’t even try to deny it.
We stay tangled together for those five minutes, wrapped around each other as if we have all the time in the world.
I pull her closer, chest to chest, and kiss her slowly, savoring every second.
She curls into me with a contented sigh, her fingers tracing aimless patterns across my chest and along my collarbone.
My hand drifts up and down the smooth curve of her back, fingertips brushing along her spine. Every now and then, I let my palm settle on her ass, giving it a gentle, possessive squeeze before continuing my lazy exploration.
“Okay, five minutes are up,” she announces, peeling herself out of my embrace. “I have to get ready. Aria booked us all mani-pedis for the wedding tomorrow and if I’m late, she’ll kill me.”
I groan dramatically, reaching out to grab her waist one last time. But she knows my tricks. She shoots up off the bed before I can reach her, then, with a smirk, pads toward the bathroom and locks the door behind her.
I stay in bed a moment longer, listening as the water turns on, already missing her warmth. Minutes pass before I let out a reluctant groan, push myself off the bed, and make my way into the kitchenette to make breakfast.
Twenty minutes later, when Sienna finally emerges in a baby blue sundress that grazes mid-thigh and shows way more cleavage than necessary, I feel that familiar pull in my chest again.
I slide both plates onto the table, then pull her onto my lap before she can sit across from me. She gasps, hands bracing on the table’s edge as she twists to look at me, eyes wide with surprise.
“You’re a little obsessed with me this morning, Milo.” she says, amused.
I don’t answer with words. Instead, I nuzzle into the side of her neck, pressing slow, open-mouthed kisses just below her ear as my hand glides down her side, coming to rest dangerously high on her thigh, fingers tracing lazy circles just beneath the hem of her dress.
Sienna shivers and leans back against my chest with a soft laugh that turns breathy when my lips find the sensitive spot on her neck again.
Grabbing a forkful of eggs, I press it to her lips. She opens her mouth and takes a bite, tilting her head to give me better access to kiss her. A little moan escapes as my hand slides higher on her thigh, fingertips brushing the edge of her thong.
“You’re going to make me late on purpose,” she accuses, but she’s smiling, her hips shifting just enough to press against the growing hardness in my shorts.
“Maybe,” I admit, kissing her again. “Or maybe I just like knowing you’ll be thinking about me while you’re getting your nails done. Thinking about my hands on you… my mouth on you…”
Her breath hitches, cheeks flushing pink. “You’re evil.”
“You love it.”
She laughs again, pressing one last kiss to my mouth before sliding off my lap. “I do, but I really have to go now.”
I don’t let her get far. I catch her wrist and tug her back between my legs, pulling her down so she’s perched on my thigh again. “Not yet. You barely ate anything.”
She raises an eyebrow, but there’s a playful glint in her eyes. “You’re really not going to let me leave, are you?”
“Not until you’ve had breakfast.” I spear a piece of pineapple from the bowl, then, instead of letting her take it, slowly rub it along her lower lip, coating it with sticky juice.
Her breath catches. “Milo…”
“Open,” I murmur, my voice low.
She obeys instantly, eyes locked on mine as I slide the pineapple between her lips. She bites down, juice dripping down her chin. Before she can wipe it away, I lean in and catch a droplet with my tongue, then kiss her slowly, tasting the sweet pineapple on her lips.
Sienna moans softly into the kiss, one hand coming up to cup the back of my neck. When I pull back, her lips are shiny and swollen. I pick up another piece and drag it across both her lips, making them glisten even more, then push it into her mouth.
She sucks the juice from my fingers, her eyes never leaving mine, and the sight sends heat straight to my cock.
Her phone vibrates relentlessly on the table, but we both ignore it. I lean in to kiss the corner of her mouth, then her jaw, then the sensitive spot just below her ear. She laughs softly, but it turns into a little moan when my fingers tease the crevice where her thigh meets her hip.
“I have to go…” she murmurs, but it’s so unconvincing I know she doesn’t believe it herself. “That’s probably Aria blowing up my phone.”
I sigh, reluctant to let her go, and pull her closer, one arm banded around her waist as the other hand continues its slow, teasing path along the edge of her thong. “Fine. But the second you get back, you’re all mine, okay?”
She turns in my lap to face me fully, looping her arms around my neck. Her eyes sparkle with mischief and something softer. “Is that a promise?”
“No. It’s a guarantee.” I answer, leaning in to kiss her again.
She stands, and I already miss the warmth of her on my lap. “Text me when you’re done. And tell Aria I said I’m not happy that she’s stealing my girl.”
Sienna pauses halfway to the door, turning back with a grin that makes my chest feel too small. “Your girl, huh?”
“Damn right,” I say, my voice soft but certain. “My girl.”
She smiles, her eyes warm and a little shy. “I like the sound of that. But… we haven’t actually exchanged numbers yet.”
I’m out of my chair in a heartbeat. Two long strides, and I’m right in front of her.
I hold out my hand for her phone. When she hands it to me, I spin her gently, pull her back against my chest, and wrap my arms around her from behind.
My chin rests on her shoulder as one hand splays protectively over her stomach.
“Unlock it.” I murmur.
