16. Dove
THREE DAYS LATER
“I don’t want you to go.” Those were the first words that I spoke when I woke up this morning.
Reighvyn was between my thighs, and he had lifted my gown around my hips. He pressed a sweet kiss to my inner thighs before he ran his nose through my folds. I hadn’t slept with any panties on, so I was bare to him.
“I don’t want to leave either, especially not being able to wake up to my morning snack.”
He ran his flattened tongue through my folds and then sucked my clitoris between his lips. I reached down and scratched my nails through the parts in his braids and pulled my legs up so that my feet were flat on the mattress.
“Who knew we would be here all these years later?” I asked.
He pulled back and grinned at me with shiny lips. “Wryn and Paloma.”
“Huh?”
“I don’t know about you, but I don’t really wanna talk about my family while I’m eating pussy, li’l bit.” He scowled at me with a look of annoyance and returned to eating my pussy.
He sucked my clit and twirled his tongue around it. I moaned and slowly gyrated. The conversation flew from my mind with the next stroke and crooked curve of his tongue.
I pumped my hips up, loving the way that he made me feel. His heavy-lidded gaze remained pinned on me as he slurped.
My belly and chest tightened as waves of pleasure rolled over me. No matter what waited for us back in Cherokee Springs, being with Reighvyn made me feel like all of that didn’t matter. All that mattered was this beautiful man, who at times felt too good to be true.
When I came on his tongue, he moved to climb out of bed, but I pulled him back into the bed. “What are you up to, beautiful?” he asked when I pushed him onto his back and straddled him.
“You.” I kissed his lips softly before I kissed my way down his chest, toned abs, and finally his erection.
I took him into my mouth, and his eyebrows lifted in surprise.
I pulled him out of my mouth with a soft popping sound. “I want to leave something on your mind while you’re away from me. I need to make sure that you never forget about me.”
“How could I ever forget about you, when you’ve been on my mind the last decade? All I ever wanted was you. Long before I knew what yearning meant, I yearned for you, gorgeous.”
I sucked him to the back of my throat until I choked. He grabbed his erection with one hand and my hair with his other; he slowly guided me down again.
“Easy, baby. You ain’t gotta rush.”
When he couldn’t take anymore, he grabbed the back of my head with both hands and pumped steadily in and out of my mouth, until he filled it with his hot seed.
I drank for what felt like an eternity. When he finished, he pulled me up and kissed me. “Sorry about that. I didn’t realize that you sucking me off would turn me the fuck on as much as it did.”
“No need to apologize, baby. Knowing that I’m the woman who brings that kind of pleasure to you, only makes me want to do it more.”
We lay in bed and talked about what we expected to happen next. We finally dragged ourselves out of bed and headed to the back patio, with bowls of fruit. I sat in his lap and fed him as we watched the sun rise together.
It was the most beautiful experience of my life. The warmth of his hands wrapped around my body, the soft caress of his breath against my naked back, and the cool, moist breeze whipping my hair around was an aphrodisiac of its own.
By the time we finished the fruit, I was straddling him and riding his dick so hard that he repeated my name again and again.
“Ooh, baby. I don’t want to let you go,” I murmured, kissing his soft, fat lips as I rocked around his erection.
He tilted my head back and stared into my eyes as he thrust up inside of me. “You’re not letting me go, beautiful. This will be your time to make sure that I’m what you want.”
“How could I ever doubt that? You’re all I want and need.” I moaned and tossed my head back as he continued filling me.
“I just need you to be sure. Just a few weeks ago, you said that you couldn’t give me what I needed. I knew that you could, and you have been. I need you to clear your mind alone for a while. This last year has been hard as hell for you,” he grunted through clenched teeth.
I giggled. “Not as hard as you are now,” I replied, gyrating my pussy around him.
“Fuck yeah, girl.”
He stood up and laid me on the patio table. Reighvyn thrust deep inside of me, causing the table to shake as he stood over me with one hand planted on my chest and the other around my neck.
My mouth dropped open, and I panted as I watched his dick disappear inside of me only to slide back out covered in my pussy juices.
I didn’t know if it was that sight or watching his eyes roll back in his head that caused me to lose control.
The only thing that I knew was that I released a loud, high-pitched call that rivaled the seagulls.
His roar was no less powerful as it ripped from his throat when he released his seed inside of me.
Reighvyn lowered over my body, stared into my eyes, and passionately kissed me for several long seconds.
“Do you want to ride to the airport with me to see me off?” he asked an hour later.
The car service had pulled up out front, and Reighvyn’s bags were in the trunk.
I exhaled slowly. “As appealing as that sounds, I think I had better turn that down. It’ll be too hard.”
Reighvyn laughed. “A’ight, baby. I’ll see you soon.”
“Not soon enough. I wish we could remain in our private little bubble.”
“I feel the same way, baby. Remember what we talked about, though?”
“That you’ll be retiring soon?”
“Exactly. So think of this as a small sacrifice to set us up for the future.”
He planned to open a gym after retirement and train professional athletes in MMA.
He kissed me, and I slowly walked back up the sidewalk to the cottage. I heard the sound of gym shoes slapping against the sidewalk and turned to see him running back toward me.
Reighvyn grabbed me and kissed me hard.
“I love you more than anything. Don’t you ever forget that.”
I whispered, “Same,” before I kissed him one final time.
He reached inside of his pocket and removed a seashell necklace that he made.
I gasped as he placed it around my neck.
“This is like a promise ring. It’s my promise that when I’m done, I’ll return to you.
Whenever you start to doubt, put these seashells to your ear and listen to the memories of our time spent here. Okay?”
The tears streamed down my face at his sweet gesture as I bobbed my head and threw my arms around him again. He squeezed me tightly before he pulled back and dropped a kiss on my forehead and then my lips. All too soon, he released me and ran back to the car.
When the car pulled away, the tears came faster, and my cries became audible. I felt so empty inside. With Reighvyn, I felt seen again and understood for the first time in a long time.
I ran into the house to do something that I should have done a while ago.
“Hello?” The familiar voice that was once harsh, bitter, and pained and had rained so many accusations and horrible names on me, was much kinder now.
“Gemma, it’s Dove.”
The soft, sweet voice immediately turned icy after she released a scoff. “Why are you calling me? You should be happy that you have Neal to yourself now.”
“That’s not why I’m calling. I don’t have or want Neal. I’m calling to apologize to you.”
“For what? You knew you were messing with a married man.”
“A married man who told me that he was in the midst of a divorce and there was nothing to salvage.”
“And you believed him?”
“It sounds flimsy, but that’s the truth. I didn’t know he was married until much later. I should have known better and done better. I would never knowingly and willingly hurt another woman the way that I hurt you by my actions.”
“You saved me. If you hadn’t snuck around, I don’t know how long I would have been in the dark. It forced me to look into all his questionable past behaviors and learn that Neal had had affairs in the past. Hope that you never experience the kind of pain you brought me.”
She ended the call without saying goodbye. I couldn’t blame her. My thoughts turned to Daniella. I sighed and made another call.
“Hello?”
“Paloma.”
“Dove?”
“Yes, it’s me, girl.”
“Oh my goodness! It’s been what, six years!” Paloma exclaimed.
“I’m sorry.”
“That goes both ways.”
We had kept in contact after I graduated high school, and she had left foster care. We used to talk a lot, but as time wore on, we lost touch.
“Is everything okay?” she asked.
“Yeah.”
“I reached out after your relationship with that Neal guy was exposed all over social media last year, but you didn’t respond.”
“I fell into depression and shut the world out. My parents and sister had to pop up at my place just to see me.”
“I saw the live that you and my brother did, and I applaud you for having the courage to do that. I believe your story, if no one else did.”
“Thank you, Paloma. I asked him who would have ever thought we’d end up together, and he said you and Wryn. Do you know what he meant?”
“You two always liked each other, but you acted like you didn’t. We both believed you would find your way back to each other somehow. You were meant to be. I knew that from the day that you got him to speak when he had refused to before then. Now, what’s the real reason that you are calling, girl?”
I laughed. “Daniella.” I told her about everything that happened and followed it up with, “Why did he remain with someone he knew wasn’t good for him?”
Paloma sighed. “As much as we loved our mother, Reigh was the only one who made excuses for her behaviors. He was so young. Our mother could be cruel and apathetic. A lot of times, she withheld affection, using it as something to be earned. Daniella was the same way. She held her affection over his head for him to earn it, and she never gave a damn about Reigh. The difference between her and my mother is that our mother has an illness. She had a lot of ways like our mother, and Daniella became the closest thing he could ever have to our mother.”
That saddened me. “That’s heartbreaking.”
“Yeah. Dove, he’s going to need you in the months to come.”
“Why?”
“Mama is out of the hospital and on her meds. Wryn won’t see her. I’ve been with her a few times, and she seems much different than when we were kids. I just don’t know what type of impact that will have on Reigh’s emotions. Just be there for him.”
“I promise, Lo, I will.”
We talked a while longer before we finally ended the call.
The man that I loved carried so much pain, and he kept his head up through it all, trying to appear strong for everyone.
I worried that one day, he might break, and I prayed that I could be there to put him together again if that were to happen.
