Chapter 7 #2
“We are searching for our mate. What happens after that … well, I can’t really say.” He shrugged and took a big drink from his bottle. “Preston knows the plans, though, which is what matters.”
I took a drink as well and suddenly felt the alcohol hit me. “Whoa, this is … strong.”
“I forgot to tell you I finished your hammock,” he said and stood, pointing to a hammock that was about halfway between the floor and their hammocks. “Can you reach it?”
It was still relatively high up, but I felt certain I could do it. I set down the bracelet I was making and looked up. Yeah, I could make it. Standing, I focused on my hammock, squatted down, and jumped.
I made it higher than the hammock, but due to my inebriation, misjudged it and sailed over. I yelped and flailed my arms, trying to grab the hammock, but fell back down towards the ground.
Wayne rushed forward, his strong arms catching me as I fell, causing us both to fall to the ground, me atop him.
Laughter burst out of me and I smiled down at him. “Sorry!”
He smiled up at me and pressed his lips to mine. “You’re not hurt?”
I shook my head, my face aflame with lust, and licked my lips. “No, sorry. I didn’t realize the alcohol was so strong.”
He slid his hands down to my hips and I felt his erection against me. “You’re truly a beautiful creature, Xoe.”
“Yeah?” I asked breathlessly, heat pooling in my core.
“Yes.” He kissed me again and ground against me a bit, making me moan into his mouth. “Do you want release, Diamond?”
Even though I’d just been with Zeke yesterday, I was already wound up again.
Over the past ten years, I’d not experienced such extreme lust as I was now.
Was it the Dragonkin? Were they causing this to happen to me somehow?
Or was it just because it’d been so long since I’d been with males I wasn’t fleeing from?
Whatever the reason, I wasn’t going to let these opportunities go to waste. Who knew how long it would be before I got a chance to sleep with men who weren’t planning to sell me the next day?
I nodded vigorously, grinding against him. “Please.”
He smiled and rolled us over so that he was atop me and in quick movements had us both stripped of our clothing.
With firm, but tentative hands, he squeezed my breasts, making a purring sound as he did.
“Your breasts are beautiful, just like the rest of you.” He leaned forward and swirled his tongue around one of my taut peaks and moaned in the back of his throat as he did.
“Wayne, please,” I begged.
He shifted, placing the tip of his erection against my aching core, and gently pushed the head in. “Oh, you’re so tight,” he gasped as he moved back and forth, working himself deeper into me with each movement. “So wet.”
“What if I’m not her?” I asked as he moved deeper and deeper into me. His ridges were little frictions of bliss.
“Her?” he asked, pausing and looking down at me.
“Should you be sleeping with me if I’m not your mate?” I asked. It was stupid. Why was I asking him this when we were already having sex?
“There’s … something about you, Xoe. Something that calls to me. Calls to the primal part of me. I think … you might be my fated mate. I didn’t even think they existed, but … there’s a connection with you I can’t deny.”
My eyes widened and breath hitched. He … thought I was his mate? Fated mate at that? Did the others think that? Was that why they wanted these dates?
“Even if you’re not, I don’t want to waste time with you or regret not doing things with you.
I want to experience everything with you.
” He thrust into me, right up to his knot, making me cry out in ecstasy and arch my hips up.
“So beautiful,” he said, his chest rumbling against mine in what felt like a growl and purr mixed together.
His mouth crashed into mine and our bodies moved together. He was right, there was something about him, them, that called to me. I didn’t believe in fated mates or anything like that, but losing myself to the moment, just enjoying this time with him felt great.
My orgasm was so strong that I smacked my head against the floor as I threw it back and screamed his name. He gripped my hips, growled, and lowered his head down to bite my shoulder as he found his release.
We lay there, panting, satisfied, and silent for as long as it took my heart to slow.
“Are you okay?” he asked and looked down at me with genuine concern in his eyes. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
I shook my head and rested my hand against his cheek, smiling softly. “You didn’t hurt me, Wayne. I’m fine.”
He nodded. “Good.” After pulling out of me, he grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet, keeping an arm around my waist as my legs were a bit jelly-like. “Let’s take a shower.”
“A shower would be good. What about the bracelets?”
He looked over at them sitting on the table and shrugged. “They’ll still be there later. If you want to keep making one, you can come back here.”
We started walking, me grabbing my clothes on the way, but when Wayne realized I was going to be slow, he picked me up in his arms instead and carried me to his room. He really was a gentleman at times and I felt certain he understood people better than he realized.
