Chapter 31
CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
The wedding went perfectly and looked magnificent, even the High Queen praised the choices I’d made and the décor.
Thankfully, it was a short and simple exchanging of vows and being officially named a princess of Drakorantia.
I much preferred the Drakorantia wedding to the Caltyrelan, which was always at least an hour long due to all the boring speeches the officiant gave.
The four princes now stood facing me, a magic circle on the ground between us, and gave me warm, happy smiles.
“One. Two. Three,” Preston whispered in my mind. Since our bond had continued to develop, we found we could now communicate telepathically, which was both a blessing and a curse that I was getting used to. In times like this, it was very handy, though.
On three, the five of us simultaneously stepped into the magic circle. A burst of bright, cyan-colored magic burst up from the magic circle to cover us in a cyan magic bubble.
“Fated mates!” High King Alaric yelled. “They’re fated mates!”
Everyone assembled gasped and I swore we could hear those watching from around the world gasp as well.
Had the planet itself gasped? Okay, I was definitely being silly, but my heart was too full to care.
It was surprising to me that Preston hadn’t told his parents about us being fated.
Judging by the smugness I felt through our bond from him, it was withheld from them on purpose.
“I accept my mates and our bond!” I announced proudly. The magic exploded and our bond fully solidified, making me exhale in relief. Turning to the princes, I pulled the bracelets I’d made out of my pockets, conveniently sewn into the dress, and held them out.
They each took one, smiling like I’d given them a moon instead of a poorly crafted leaf bracelet. Leaning forward to draw their attention, they all leaned closer as well. I whispered, “I also had my implant removed.”
Their eyes widened, but Preston’s the most of all. He started to grab me, like he was going to cart me off, but High Queen Seraphyne tsked, stopping him. He growled softly, but bent to nip his mark on the side of my neck. “Later, pet, you’ll be strapped to that bed for days at least.”
My heart beat faster, but for the first time it wasn’t fear I felt at hearing those types of words, but excitement and anticipation.
“Promises, promises, Prince,” I purred.
“We present to you, Drakorantia, your crowned Princess Xoe and the crowned Princes Preston, Zeke, Wayne, and Gage!” High King Alaric announced, his voice booming out for all across the world to hear.
“Long live Princess Xoe! Long live the Princes!”
As I faced my mates, my husbands, my everything, I felt my soul finally settle. I had finally found a home, not just their planet, but them, my princes, the pieces of my heart and soul.
