Chapter 10 Taste
Taste
LOTHAIR
Sitting on the edge of a desert, Ardaine was one of the driest cities in the country. When it rained—which it did like five times a year—Nature made sure you remembered it.
My eyes flew open when my ears registered the pitter-patter of drops on the balcony. The soft noise became a drum solo. Ropes of water fell from the sky, beating the ground, mist rising from the overheated stone floor.
I inhaled the humid air. I was tempted to run out and dance in the rain. I could.
Then I remembered Terrance giving me the silent treatment in the car on the way home from Rosebud. He’d slinked to his room without even looking at me. I’d figured he needed some time and space, but after I slept on it…
Time meant thinking. In Terrance’s case, overthinking. Space meant he could put more distance between us.
I shot out of the bed and stretched, gazing at the beautiful water curtains outside. The trees in my garden shivered happily, finally getting rid of the ever-present dust. Everything would be fresh and clean after it rained—a little like a new beginning.
I needed to talk to Terrance before he did something stupid. He could blabber to his boss that he broke some silly rule.
Shit. He could quit!
Nope. That was not happening.
I dragged a pair of white briefs over my hips and strode to the door. I had no idea what I was going to tell him, but it was obvious I needed to act.
I tore the door open and jumped back.
Terrance all but fell on me. He caught the door frame to stop himself from face-planting on my carpet.
“What the hell?”
He regained his balance and clenched his jaw. He was dressed in his usual striped pajama pants and a white tee and looked so adorable that I wanted to squeeze his cheeks and plant a kiss on his nose.
“I was…leaning on the door,” he mumbled.
“On my door.”
“Yes.”
I suppressed a smile. “Why?”
His eyes flashed with anger. “We need to talk,” he barked.
“I agree. I was on my way to bang on your door.”
“Good.”
“Good,” I repeated, waiting for him to get it out.
“So talk.”
I laughed. “You said we needed to talk.”
Exasperated, Terrance threw his arms in the air. “Jesus, Lothair, you’re such a fucking child!”
I tilted my head to the side and put my hands on my hips. “You didn’t seem to think that when you were rubbing your dick against mine.”
His nostrils flared.
“I assume you want to quit,” I told him slowly.
“I’m not contributing to your safety.”
Taking a deep breath, I walked around him and closed the door. Having him in my room without a clear escape route behind him felt marginally better. I would have locked it if I could.
“As you well know, I’m not worried about my safety. I only agreed to hire you to placate my manager.”
“Some of the threats you face are real.” He exhaled, looking around the room, anywhere but at me. “You need security, Lothair.”
“Why can’t you stay, then?”
“Stop playing games. You know why.”
“Because we’re attracted to each other, and you think it’s compromising your ability to do your job.”
“I’m attracted to you, yes.” The admission must have cost him.
He scrunched up his nose as if he smelled something bad.
“But you also drive me nuts. I’m behaving completely unprofessionally around you, and with you sabotaging any security measure I try to employ, you’re exposed.
Your safety is compromised. I can’t work like this. ”
Fuck me. He really wanted to quit. Think, Lothair. Think!
I lifted a finger. “How about this?”
Lips pursed, he leaned against the wall while I paced in front of him. I needed to improvise, which I could have if it were a stunt. But interactions with other people? I was fumbling at best.
“How about…I follow your protocols?” I said, scrutinizing his reaction.
“Everything. You say you need the address and shoe size of every omega I’ve ever touched, and I’ll give you the list. You say I need to stay in the car, get out of the car, walk on the right or left, or hop on one leg.
Whatever. I’ll be the most cooperative client you’ve ever had. ”
Terrance shook his head. “That’s ridiculous.”
I paused in front of him and lifted two fingers. “I swear allegiance to the security protocol. Scout’s honor.”
“You’ve never been a Scout, you clown.”
“I will follow the rules, Terry. Whatever you say. Just don’t quit.”
Terrance regarded me with his eyebrows drawn together, opening and closing his mouth. “But why?”
I wanted him here with me. I liked him. Why was that so hard to understand?
Three quick steps, and I was on him. I pressed my body against his, pushing him into the wall, and he gasped.
He could easily shove me back.
Instead, he stared at me with a mix of outrage and desire on his inhumanly gorgeous face.
“You’re staying,” I bit out.
His pupils dilated, and his dick grew hard against mine. Again, he shook his head but didn’t say a word.
Savoring the friction between our bodies, I sank to my knees. I had him caged, but he was a shifter alpha. He could get away from me whenever he chose.
I took his lack of protest as a resounding yes.
He hissed when I pulled his pajama pants down. His dick bobbed in front of my face.
A fat, curved, beautiful alpha dick. A dragon’s dick.
I ran my nose along the length. I adored the scent of him. I’d caught the perfume of Terrance’s arousal a few times before, but having direct access? I was this close to coming in my briefs like a teen.
When I mouthed his cockhead, he fisted my hair with both hands.
“Fuck, Lothair. Fuck!”
He was glaring down at me, baring his teeth like he wanted to bite my head off. But his hands pulled on my scalp, and he brought me closer as he eased his dick into my throat.
He was huge. My eyes watered, but I didn’t gag. I was so into this.
“You…” he spat, grimacing. “Damn you, Lothair.”
I would have laughed, but he jabbed his dick into my throat again.
My balls throbbed, and my cock ached as Terrance plowed my throat, looking down at me like he wanted to strangle me.
Then he snarled and gritted his teeth.
Spurts of cum flooded my mouth.
Sweet heaven.
What was that taste? How was that possible?
My eyes rolled back into my head as I gulped and slurped and licked… I couldn’t compare it to anything.
It was the best thing I’d ever tasted.
Magical.
I was sucking on his dick, trying to get a few more drops out of it, when he tore me off with a curse.
Gaping up at him, I knelt by his feet, desperately hard, drugged by his scent and taste. He loomed above me like a vengeful god.
“Get on the bed,” he ordered in a low voice. “Naked.”
I scrambled to obey. Leaving my briefs on the floor, I leaned against the headboard with my legs spread, and he sat by my side.
“That was the first time you did what I told you without talking back.”
My chuckle got cut off when he swallowed my dick and bobbed his head.
“Yeah. Fuck, yeah. You’re amazing at this.”
He pulled off and glared at me. “Shut up.”
I bit my lip. “Will you continue if I do?”
Narrowing his eyes, Terrance licked two of his fingers. “I said shut up.”
Then he expertly found my hole, pushing those fingers into me before I could yelp in protest.
Holy shit!
It fucking burned. I groaned, and my head fell back against the headboard.
His hot mouth slid down my cock, his fingers pumped in and out, and I started shaking.
This wasn’t the deal we had.
I was supposed to be seducing him, turning him inside out. He was meant to be under me, helpless and needy and confused…
“Terry… Fuck. I can’t… Fuck!”
He curled those damned fingers inside my burning hole, and the sudden pleasure almost blew my head off.
I yelled as my cock spurted in his mouth.
He swallowed and moaned, not letting go when I shot the second and third time. He milked my gland with his fingers, gulping everything I gave him.
When it was over, I melted on the bed, my muscles loose and my head empty.
Terrance pulled his fingers out of me and wiped them on the sheet.
“Lube would have been nice,” I slurred.
His icy blue eyes flashed at me. “Oh really?”
“You’re supposed to keep me safe, remember?”
Slowly closing and reopening his eyes, he took a deep breath. “Do you think this is a good time to start joking about our situation?”
“It’s not? You’re staying, right?”
Terrance groaned in frustration and pushed away, sitting on the edge of the bed. He rubbed his neck.
“I can’t do this!”
It seemed I hadn’t won yet. I’d sucked his dick and promised to follow his stupid rules. What more did he want?
“You like it,” I said. “It makes you hot.”
Again, that head shake.
“Admit it, Terrance. For the first time in your life, you’re breaking the rules. You’re doing something wild and unexpected. It’s an adventure. It’s fun! You’ve been having the time of your life with me since day one. Admit it!”
“You’re insane.”
“You could have already quit ten times over. After Caspian’s party. Last night. You could have left.”
He gazed at me, all serious. “I should have, Lothair. I should leave now.”
I sat up, shuffled over, and hugged him from behind. “But you don’t want to. And I don’t want you to leave.”
“There’s no way this can work.”
Not if he continued with that attitude. But since I didn’t have any idea how to convince him, I begged for a little more time. “Until Monday.”
He eyed me with suspicion. “What until Monday?”
“Give us time until Monday. Stay here, with me. Let’s forget about everything for the weekend, and on Monday morning, we can decide what to do next.”
“We both know what we have to do next.”
“Until Monday, Terry.” I pressed a kiss to the side of his throat.
“Two days. I’ll suck your cock again.” I licked under his ear.
The taste of his skin was addictive, and I couldn’t wait to eat more of his magical cum.
The sound of raindrops outside gave me romantic ideas.
“How about swimming naked in the rain? Then more cock-sucking.”
