16. New normal
New normal
GAbrIELLA
For the first time since I learned that magic was real, I wish with all my heart to have some of my own. I close my eyes, praying that whatever magic is out there will let me free myself from the asshole who’s heart is possibly in the right place, even if his methods suck. I’m not sure what I was expecting but to open my eyes and find myself sitting on a couch between two sleeping guys is not it. “Um, ok, this is better than being stuck in that room but I still can’t move.” I growl beneath my breath.
“How do you keep doing that?” Jamie’s voice is husky and full of sleep but my body responds as though he’s whispered the sweetest thing into my ear. These boys are dangerous to my heart, body and soul. There’s something about them that is driving my libido crazy. Their cocky attitudes are enough to draw any susceptible girl in, but add in their irresistible looks and I know I’m in deep shit.
“Do what?” I hiss through my clenched teeth as I try to move any part of my body.
“Disappear and appear wherever you want. You know that’s not normal, even for us Elementals, right?”
“I have no idea what is normal, I’ll tell you a secret if you can help me out.” I try to sound flirty but with my teeth still clenched tight, it comes out more of a demand than anything else.
“What exactly is the probl…. Oh. Shit, someone’s got you bound with air. Hold on, I’m gonna have to wake Drew, he’s better at unbinding than I am.” He leans over my frozen body to gently shake his brother’s shoulder.
“Fuck off, I’m sleeping.”
“Dude, Gabriella is sitting right here.” When Drew continues to keep his eyes closed, Jamie adds, “Naked!” It’s like that single word is an electrical shock, Drew sits bolt upright, his eyes going straight to my chest.
“Dude, you lied!” If I could laugh at the disappointment in his voice, I would but being frozen makes my laugh sound more like a grunt. “What’s with her, she’s making strange noises.”
“You both need to quit saying ‘Dude’ it’s weird.” I grumble at the same time Jamie explains to Drew what’s wrong with me.
“Who did this?” Drew waves his hands over my shoulder motioning for his brother to come closer. “Might as well steal a hug before I release you. Not sure you’d let me otherwise.” He laughs as my body suddenly feels like it weighs about fifty times its normal weight. If the two of them hadn’t been hugging me, I’d probably have fallen to the ground, face first. Despite his joke at stealing a hug, I wrap my arms around his broad chest, smashing my face into his shirt. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” I whisper, holding on tight.
“So worth it.” Drew’s laugh rumbles through me, so similar to his brother’s that when Jamie starts laughing as well, their voices harmonise into one. I’m in girl heaven, trapped between their warm embrace.
The guys and I decide to head to their room so we can talk more in private. My first glimpse of the dorm room is enough to have my jaw dropping. It’s like a luxury penthouse suit, complete with mini kitchen, living room and three doors leading to bedrooms with their own bathrooms. The furniture in the living room is all soft plush fabrics in a deep comforting blue that makes me want to sink into the couches and sleep forever. The huge ass screen attached to the wall however is a bit of a shock, especially since its still on. My eyes couldn’t possibly go any wider but I swear they do as I turn my head slightly trying to figure out how the two penises on the screen are going to…
“Nope, not for your eyes.” Drew’s hand obscures my view before I can see anything else and I hear Jamie snarling under his breath about killing Parker when he sees him next. “Now tell me what this secret is.” Drew’s husky whisper has me forgetting all about the porn on the giant screen.
