Chapter Fifty-One
Grace
W e drove down a tree-lined dirt driveway, snow on the ground. A beautiful blue lake came into view.
“The lake has hot springs in it. It’s not a warm lake by any stretch of the imagination, but it keeps it from freezing. We haven’t gotten the boat out of winter storage yet, though,” Evan told me. “We don’t have waterskis, but we have a tube we pull, and one of those inflatable water trampolines.”
“That sounds like a ton of fun for summer,” I told him.
The air inside the truck was heavy with their scents. I was pretty sure sex was a big part of my romantic birthday weekend plans. I was looking forward to it, especially if they finally let me be the filling.
“This afternoon, I thought it might be fun to go to the snow-tubing park,” Evan told me. “Another time we can ski.”
“That sounds fun. I’d love to learn to snowboard.”
“Ri would love you to snowboard with her,” Evan told me.
“Are we catching fish for our dinner?” I asked, trying to get a better view of everything. It was beautiful here, and I could see why they’d chosen this place for their honeymoon.
“We could for lunch tomorrow, as long as you’re a better angler than Wes.” Evan laughed.
“Hey!” Wes chuckled as a giant wooden house appeared. It was a fancy multi-story wood and brick structure with peaked roofs and balconies.
“That’s not a cabin.” I poked Evan with my elbow.
“I know. I freaked out when they got it for me. It wasn’t that I had an issue with a romantic cabin in the woods. That seemed perfectly reasonable. But this—this is a forest mansion,” Evan told me.
“It doesn’t have enough bedrooms to be a mansion, well, according to Bren,” Wes said.
“They got you a house ?” What a gift. But then their pack had money.
“It’s a custom. As part of the pack agreement, the pack gives the omega assets of their own, in their own name, to prevent financial abuse. A house is pretty common. I just wasn’t expecting a house like that, ” he explained.
“Oh, that makes so much sense.” I admired the beautiful house. My eyes rested on the corner of the roof. “Is that a turret?”
Evan’s lemonade scent got stronger. “Oh, Peaches, I can’t wait to show you my turret.”
The garage was bigger than the one at the house. It was also full of things like snowmobiles, ski equipment, and fishing gear.
We grabbed our stuff and entered some sort of utility room, where Evan entered a code, then brought me into a big airy kitchen.
Snacks covered the counter–and not a bowl of chips and a tray of carrots—there was a fancy display of meats, cheese, fruits, and nuts.
A bottle of champagne sat in a silver bucket next to a tray of chocolate-covered strawberries, and an enormous bouquet with a Happy Birthday sign in it.
My hand went to my heart. “You did this for me?”
“Happy Birthday, Peaches.” Evan kissed me. “Let’s put our stuff down, then we can have a snack and go play in the snow.”
Ooh, I wanted a snowball fight with my guys.
The dining room looked out onto the lake–as did the airy living room. A deck wrapped around the entire floor, complete with a raised gazebo, and a weird-looking fancy grill.
“This living room.” I turned around. It opened onto the second floor. There was even a tucked-away reading nook with a cozy round chair, a shelf of books, and a beautiful view.
“I know. But this is my favorite.” He pulled me over to one wall and threw open a curtain, where there was a cozy alcove with a big couch.
“There’s a TV built into the wall. Riley’s room is on this floor.
There’s an office, too. Downstairs is laundry, storage, a game room, the gym, and a little screened-in patio and backyard. ”
“This is insane.” I twirled around the massive, beautiful house.
“I know,” Wes told me. “The gazebo is heated for year-round outdoor dining . ”
We went up the stairs and I was greeted with doors and a view of the living room below.
Evan walked me to a far corner and opened a door. “While you’re always welcome in my room, I thought you’d like this one.”
A low bed was built into the bay window wall, piled with fluffy blankets and pillows and hung with lights and sheer curtains. It would be snug with the three of us. The window held a breathtaking view of the lake. The roof was sloped, and the small room felt cozy.
“Oh, Evan.” I wanted to dive into that bed full of blankets and pillows, which for some reason seemed inviting, not messy. The room was also uncluttered–there was literally nothing else in the room.
He wrapped his arms around me. “The closet and drawers are built into the wall. It’s not a lot of space, but like I said, you’re welcome in my bed anytime. I thought you’d like your own little place. There are even secret bookshelves–look.”
Evan brought me over to the bed and showed me how the bookshelves pulled out of the wall by the window.
“I…” I fell back into the soft bed. “Oh, my god.”
He grinned. “I knew you’d love it. Look, the wall lights look like candles . ”
I tugged on his hand, and he fell onto the bed with me.
“Do you mean that?” He gave me a heated look as the room filled with the special smell that meant he was extra-aroused.
I hit him with a pillow.
Wes growled from the doorway. “If you two don’t get out of there, I’m coming in, and I’m pretty sure we’ll spoil Evan’s afternoon plans.”
“Fine.” I rolled out of the bed. “My stuff goes here?”
“Usually. This time, I thought we’d all stay in my room.” With a wink, Evan popped out of the bed, and took my hand and led me out of the cute room. He opened another door in the hall. “This is your nearest bathroom.”
I went inside the granite bathroom. “There’s a waterfall in the bathtub.”
“Yep. Spencer’s room is through the adjoining door.” Evan led us back out. “We’ve got Bren and Jett’s room, then Wes’ room. Their bathroom has a sauna.”
“Wes has a room? I want to see.” I opened the door.
The bed looked like rough-hewn logs, as did the matching furniture. It was done in green plaid. There was a fireplace and a big, fuzzy rug.
“This is cute,” I told him.
“It is. But I have more to show you.” Evan led me upstairs.
There were two more doors. We went to the right.
There were more sloping ceilings and a view of the lake.
There was a fireplace and a gigantic bed, unfussy, but comfortable, with a wooden headboard and more matching lumberjack furniture, which must be a theme.
The area in front of the window was almost alcove-like with a little seating area.
“There’s a balcony and a hot tub with a lake view,” Evan said as he set our stuff down on the low table.
Wes pulled the two of us down into the big soft bed. His arms wrapped around me and Evan, and for a moment I let their scents and muscles wrap around me as he purred.
“Your house is stunning,” I told Evan, relishing in snuggling with my guys.
“It is. I love spending time here,” Evan said. “And I hope you do, too.”
I gazed out at the lake. From here I could see the dock and a fire-pit. “I could get used to this.”
“As much as I joke about rich people and their toys, there are perks,” Evan told me.
“Wait until you see the boat.” Wes crawled out of bed. “I’ll be back.” He went through a door that was probably the bathroom.
Evan got a mischievous look on his face. “Come on, I want to show you something.”
I followed him out of the room, and we went through the other door.
There was a little cozy sitting room with a kitchenette and a giant couch, and an open door that looked like a bathroom.
There was also a small staircase. Evan took my hand and led me up the stairs.
A small landing had a door, a bench, some cupboards, and hooks with robes on them.
He kicked off his shoes, and I did the same.
The door was open, and he led me through.
The small room was low-ceilinged--like Evan nearly hit the roof with his head--and light streamed in through a skylight.
He pressed a switch, and electric candles lit up everywhere.
There was a little window with a seat. My feet sank into the thick, padded carpet.
The walls were draped with silky saffron-colored fabric.
“I feel like I’m in a spice box.” I leaned into him.
“This is my turret.” Again, his look went heated as the room went thick with the scent of his arousal.
“This is a sex turret.” I looked around. Most of the room was a sunken area filled with pillows and blankets in the deep colors Evan liked.
“Yep. It’s a fuck-nest. I plan on having you here tonight.” He nibbled on my neck, and I shivered with pleasure.
Yes, take me in the fuck-nest.
Holding my hand, he jumped into the sunken bed, taking me with him. I buried myself under the pillows, relishing in the sensation as my body trembled in pleasure.
“Peaches, keep doing that and I’ll have you right now.” Evan’s nose touched mine. We were under the covers, and it felt like we were in a blanket fort.
“Do we have time for a quickie?” My thighs rubbed together with desire, warmth seeping through me.
“Don’t tempt me. With my heat coming, I’m a horny fuck.” Evan hummed and burrowed in with me, holding me close, his hard-on digging into me.
“You’re always horny.” My head rested on his chest. The tension I’d felt since last night melted away. I was cozy, safe, loved, and with Evan. “It’s soon?”
I knew little about heats. Just that they were omega fertile cycles and involved days of non-stop sex.
“In three weeks, while Riley’s on spring break. Yeah, that was purposeful. Thank goodness for drugs that help you schedule your heat.” His hand stroked my back.
“It’s what, four or five times a year? That’s a lot of time off–do you ever get to take vacations if you’re using all your time off for that?” My eyes closed. I needed to finish the modules.
“I’m a dude, so it’s more like two or three a year.
But yeah, that’s part of why omegas didn’t used to work.
Now there are supplements that a lot of omegas use to adjust and even shorten their cycles–and suppressants so you don’t get them at all.
A few long weekends a year are completely doable while holding down a job, especially if you time them to holiday weekends. You can use your health days, too.”
“Three weeks, that’s soon.” My heart thumped a little. Days and days of sex.
“I’m probably going to start humping you more than usual as my hormones ramp up. I might even spike–that’s my hormones going into overdrive. Basically, if I’m warm and whine that I need you, text Wes and pay me attention.” He smiled.
“So, make love to you and tell you that you’re pretty until Wes gets there and then do it again?” I ground against him.
“Absolutely. We can talk about this later, but we all usually come here. Even Spence. He hangs out, makes sure we have snacks and water, and then makes a shit-ton of Greek food when we’re done.
I…” He cupped my face with his hand. “I want you to be here, too. If you don’t want to participate, that’s fine.
Knowing you’re here would be a comfort. You could hang out with Spence, take out the boat, explore.
If you do want to take part–even if you just come and go–I’d love that, too. ”
I thought for a moment. “While it sounds lovely, I think I need to watch those modules so I know what this entails.”
“I can watch them with you and answer any questions. You have options. If you’re not ready to even just be here with us, I’m pretty sure we can convince Spencer to take you on a trip instead,” he offered. “He’ll show you a great time.”
“I can imagine. Those are all great options. Thank you for being so considerate of my feelings.” I kissed him softly. “It would be all your dudes, right?”
If it were just the three of us, it would be an easy decision.
“Yeah–and through most of it they won’t be able to leave me for long. I also haven’t talked to them about this at all. Mostly, I wanted to see if you were even ready to come with us, because if Spence is whisking you away, we should plan that,” he said.
“Not sure I’m ready for a multi-day sex party with all your dudes, but let’s watch the modules so that I understand and go from there? Hanging out here with Spence could be fun, too.” We could play chess, talk science, stargaze…
Make out.
Evan kissed me. “That sounds like a great idea.”
I kissed him back, long and deep, my body grinding against his. His scent wrapped around me, as his breath grew raspy, his mouth gliding over my neck.
Wes growled in the doorway. “You two keep looking cute, in nests, with all your clothes on .”
“Hi, Babe.” Evan waved cheekily. “So, this is my nest. Let’s have a snack and go play in the snow.”
