Epilogue
Darling House
Somerset, England
Antoinette adjusted Lacy’s veil and stepped back to view her. “Oh, my darling, you look glorious.” She wiped a tear from her eye. “You look so much like my dear sister. She would have been so happy to see this day.”
Lacy wrapped her arms around her aunt. “Mama is here, Auntie. I feel her presence blessing me.”
Antoinette recovered herself and smiled. “Of course, you are right. I want you to know she would have approved of Julian completely. Now come—let us not keep your groom waiting.”
The time had flown in a whirlwind as preparations were made for Lacy and Julian’s wedding, and now the day was here.
Her father took her arm and kissed her on the cheek.
The music swelled as they walked down the red-rose-strewn runner to the altar where Julian waited, his reassuring smile a beacon drawing her in.
Her dreams had come true and she’d found her Prince Charming, and he loved her more than life itself.
She stole a glance around her and caught the eye of Julian’s father, and her heart skipped a beat.
The earl who had opposed their union so vehemently now beamed with pleasure at their union. Yes, I am blessed. Thank you, Mama.
Lacy looked into Julian’s eyes as the bishop pronounced them man and wife.
It was a day she never thought she’d see, but she now knew life could be full of surprises.
They may have been star-crossed, but happily, love had conquered all obstacles.
When Julian took her into his strong, reassuring arms and kissed her, she could do nothing but give herself to him completely.
What an incredible journey of life awaited them.
She had found her one and only, and wasn’t that the way love was supposed to be?
