Chapter Ten #5
But then for Lupa, the very same armor was modified to have shorts that showed off her legs, her arms were left exposed, and there was a corset that pushed up her breasts while putting her cleavage on full display.
Her helmet also looked like a small, cute hat, but she hid it once she saw me hide mine.
If I looked like a cross between an archer and a rogue, she looked like a cross between a rogue and a bard.
She looked really good in it, and I saw her smile a little when she noticed I was staring at her chest.
But boobs aside.
The armor itself was nothing special, just good enough for now.

I still stood by Seth being crazy for challenging himself to add flavor text descriptions to every single item in the game.
I really believed only non-common items needed flavor text, but I could at least respect the willpower to give everything flavor text, even when it was obvious he had no idea what to put.
Anyways, even if the armor wasn’t that great, it still tripled my defense and boosted my stats.

Now that I had gear providing stats, the base value of everything without gear was put into parentheses while the total combined with stats from gear was put up front.
I still had 21 points that I could distribute across those attributes whenever I wanted, too…
and I probably should have done that sooner.
But I still wasn’t sure. I knew I could be indecisive when it came to starting a new run, and I only had one shot, so I didn’t want to spend all my points on a stat that I wasn’t going to need.
Besides, if I wanted to improve my stats, getting some more specific armor crafted was more useful.
Buying armor and wearing that necklace I got from Otto gave me more points in vitality than what I would have been able to get just by dumping all my points into it myself, so.
I held off on spending those points.
And speaking of that necklace, I made sure to wear it over my new armor. The necklace was a simple, silver chain with a shield-shaped medallion hanging from it. It was never outright confirmed, but the popular theory was that the medallion was the symbol of the royal guards from back then.
I was proud to wear it in honor of Otto.
But everything stats aside, since we hadn’t left Tabitha’s shop yet, I told her, “We’re going out to another dungeon today, so you want to give us that quest?”
“Two dungeons in one day?” Tabitha asked.
“You really are crazy. Then again, ya already brought back another girl, and a canid at that.” It sounded insulting, but.
“Heh. Only a crazy man would have such fine taste.” It was a compliment in her own way.
“Anyways, I need twenty logs. Hickory Logs specifically. You can either bring ‘em back as materials or turn them into commodities, doesn’t matter to me.”
“Got it. You need anything else while we’re out there?”
“Hmm… hmmmm… nah, I don’t think—hold on.
Actually… there might be one thing.” I wasn’t expecting her to actually say yes.
I just asked since it felt natural to. “I’ve really been in the mood for a nice ham and restaurants aren’t quite my thing.
Mind bringin’ me some meat from the hogs there?
” Maybe her wanting to buy meat direct from the dungeon just for a nice treat while she was already in debt had something to do with her financial situation.
Lupa started salivating at my side. “Meat. Master, let’s get meat, too.”
I chuckled and said, “Looks like I’ll be getting enough meat for all of us.”
Tabitha showed me a wide grin and shouted, “Alright! Then I’ll give sixty silver for all the logs and two silver for each thing of meat ya get me.”
“You know, I’ll bankrupt you if you offer that without a limit.”
“Heh. A man like you probably means that, huh? In that case, five should last me a nice while, so how about ten silver for five?”
“Sounds like a deal. Seventy silver total for the logs and meat.”
Tabitha held her hand out to me over her counter. “Deal?”
I accepted her hand for a shake. “Deal.”
“Great! And it even comes with a complimentary axe.” Tabitha went into her inventory and opened up a trade with me, showing me the axe.
//Iron Logging Axe
//Type: Tool [Axe] (Common)
//Requirements: Level 5
//Can chop up to level 15 Trees.
//Be careful not to wake a treant.
Even though it was an axe that looked almost indistinguishable from an axe used for a weapon, it wasn’t something meant to be used as a weapon, so it didn’t have a damage stat.
That aside, I accepted the gift and had the axe added to my inventory.
“Now, get on out there,” Tabitha said.
“I’ll have your logs for you before the day is over,” I replied.
“Heh. I’ll count on it.”
“But first.” I looked at Lupa and Rosie. “Let’s have a lunch date.”
Rosie was quick to blush thanks to the “date” word, but Lupa simply salivated some more at the prospect of food.
