Chapter Twelve #4

//Type: Collectable (Legendary)

//A plushie of the first goblin ever smart enough to try and ride a hog… and survive. Plushie hog mount included.

I was so excited that, if I had a tail like Lupa, it would have wagged rapidly enough to break.

“Do you have any idea how rare this is?! Boss plushies only have a 0.05% chance to drop! Even if you get the special Plushie Hunter ring, that only boosts the drop rate up to 0.5%! I’ve had to do some dungeons over four hundred times before to get a drop!

There’s even a challenge called, ‘The Ultimate Masochist Collection Challenge,’ and I never even completed it since some of endgame and post-endgame took hours to complete even with cheese builds, but the drop rate was still so low!

But now that I’m in this world… I can finally complete the challenge.

I can collect every single collectable, every single plushie included, and show my collection off to everyone!

Wait, that’s what I’ll do. I—I just saw a vision.

A vision of me opening a museum for dungeon collectables, and I’ll have an entire wing of the museum dedicated to being a giant collection of every legendary plushie drop in the world!

Wait, doesn’t that sound like a great idea?

I could also put every single item on display in there.

A collection of everything from dungeons…

the museum is going to be huge. Probably the size of a city if not bigger.

Wait, but if I put everything in a museum, it might take the fun away from everyone who wants to explore dungeons themselves to find out what’s in them…

but there are even more people who’ll never step foot in a dungeon who might want to see…

but would those people be able to appreciate a plushie collection of dungeon bosses? Hmm…”

“Rosie,” Lupa said, tugging on Rosie’s arm with one hand while pointing at me with her other hand. “How is it possible for Master to be so cute?”

Rosie sighed and answered, “I don’t know, but… even if I’m getting hyped up to collect plushies after hearing how excited he is.”

I disregarded that bit about being cute and shoved the plushie into Rosie’s arms. “It doesn’t matter what the actual item is!

Getting a drop this legendary is one of the greatest feelings in the world!

This is what dungeon diving is all about!

The loot! Sure, the adventures and dangers are part of the fun, but getting a drop like this instantly makes everything before it feel a million times more satisfying!

I feel like chopping trees until my arms fall off now!

” I took the plushie back from her. “I—I’m so happy to have found you,” I told the plushie, rubbing it against my face while crying.

“This happiness—this pure joy… I’m so happy to be alive. Ah… I love collecting collectables…”

“Rosie,” Lupa said. “I want to pounce Master.”

“Hold it in, Lupa,” Rosie replied. “We—we can’t interrupt such a pure moment with our desires.”

Oh, right. There were also two other items.

//Nitchit’s War Mask

//Type: Armor [Head] (Rare)

//Requirements: Level 7

//13 Defense | 20 Strength | 8 Vitality

//Nitchit realized that the best way to be brave was to block 90% of his vision. Goblins aren’t smart enough to be afraid of what they can’t see.

//Nitchit’s Broken Shield

//Type: Material (Rare)

//The shield may be broken and have belonged to a goblin, but the wielder’s bravery can still be felt within.

“Aside from the plushie,” I said, “which I’m not handing over to anyone no matter how much money they offer me and no matter how much they beg me, you’re the one getting all the drop luck, Rosie. This helmet is probably good for you.”

Rosie sighed. “It really doesn’t feel deserved… again… but alright. There. It’s equipped.”

Nothing looked different, so she must have had her helmet hidden.

“Can you show your helmet?” I asked. “I’m curious how it looks.”

Rosie shrugged and messed with her system to enable the helmet display.

A rectangular, white war mask appeared over Rosie’s face, covering up everything except for the two, small slits in it for her eyes. “How is anyone supposed to see through this?! No wonder the boss was so easy!”

For the first time, I heard Lupa let out a little laugh. “Rosie… looks silly,” she said.

“Very silly,” I said.

With a huff and a puff, Rosie hid the mask and said, “This is why nobody shows their head equipment. They never look good.”

“Hiding is almost always a better option, but some look pretty cool. Anyways, we ready to go?”

Rosie and Lupa looked at my arms.

“Are you going to carry that plushie with you instead of put it in your inventory?” Rosie asked.

What a weird question. “Of course I am,” I answered. “I want everyone to see its beauty.”

“Mm, Master is even sillier,” Lupa said.

If showing off one of the rarest drops in the entire game made me silly, then so be it. I’d become the silliest man to ever exist!

I couldn’t wait to have an entire museum wing dedicated to boss plushies.
