Chapter 26

Eagle

Movement startled me, and I reached over, dragging her back to me. “No,” I mumbled into her hair.

“I didn’t mean to wake you,” she whispered.

Cupping her breast, I said, “So don’t move.”

“I need to pee or I’ll burst.”

Squeezing her once more, I gave in and let her go. Watching her tiny naked frame only woke me up more. I fumbled around on the nightstand and grabbed my phone. No texts. I had to go to the shop, but I still had a couple of hours.

She came back out and I grimaced. “Why did you cover up?” I sat up and grabbed the belt of her robe, loosening it and pushing it open.

Her body was so perfect. She was petite and toned, but soft in all the right places with a little round dip just under her belly button. Her breasts were full and perky, with deep pink nipples that matched her lips. I took one into my mouth and rolled my tongue over it.

She gasped. “Eddie, you’re going to break my pussy.”

Besides Dad, nobody called me that, and even when he did, I didn’t say anything out of respect, but I loved when she said my name. “Good. You’ll be too sore to let anyone else near it.”

She chuckled and grabbed my face, pulling me away from my morning treat. “Nobody else is touching it but you. But seriously, she needs a little break.”

“You said to be gentle with your heart, not your body. I’m just trying to do what you asked, baby.”

She bit her lip, but the edge quirked into a grin. “I don’t know how much of all this attentiveness I can handle.”

“Be careful what you wish for, right?” I asked before I grabbed her hips and flung her onto the bed.

After I managed to squeeze one more orgasm from my woman, she made some coffee. After we showered, she found me a spare toothbrush and I swiped on her girly deodorant.

I got dressed as she did, my eyes on her the whole time. It was crazy that someone could make putting clothes on seem sexy, but she did. When she grinned over at me, I pulled my cut on and asked, “Same time tonight?”

She fluffed her hair from the back of her shirt and shook her head. “I don’t work today, so just let me know when you want to pick me up for your dad’s thing.”

I walked to her and gripped her hips, planting kisses over her lips, cheeks, and neck. “If that’s the case, why don’t you come with me?”

“Don’t you work today?”

I nuzzled her neck, loving her sweet post-shower smell. Her scent when she was turned on was my favorite, but I’d missed her sweet body wash and shampoo. I was ready for it to be back on my pillow where it belonged. “Yes. But you can hang out. Daisy will be there.”

She grabbed my face, halting my pecks over her skin. “Eddie, it’s okay to be apart sometimes.”

Shaking my head, I pulled her against me even closer. “I don’t want to be away from you unless it’s unsafe for you to be with me. Even then, I don’t know if you’d be safer anywhere than with me.”

“Unsafe? From what?” She cocked an eyebrow but wrapped her arms around my shoulders. “I know I wanted attention, but this isn’t exactly what I meant. And I don’t want you to get tired of me. I love this new you, and I don’t know if I can let you go again.”

My heart thumped in my chest. She nearly said she loved me. Still not sure it was time to say it to her, I met her lips with mine and stole a deep kiss. Pulling away, I pressed my forehead to hers and stared into those sparkling blues. “I will never get tired of you, Lacy. And I won’t let you go. I can’t. I need you like I need air. Come with me.” I wanted to tell her nothing was safe for her right now, especially at the strip club. But I couldn’t. “Please, Lacy.”

Her smirk melted away and her eyes softened. “Okay. But just today. I can’t go everywhere with you all the time.”

Grinning with satisfaction, I kissed her again then smacked her firm ass as she turned to find shoes. The only thing that would make this better was if she was back at the clubhouse. It was so easy. I was relaxed, as relaxed as I could be knowing we still had a rat and some asshole was picking off strippers. Still, I felt…happy. I couldn’t believe I fought so hard against this.

“You okay?” she asked with a pinched brow.

Shaking off the thoughts of how much time I wasted being an idiot, I smiled. “I’m great. You hungry?”

We headed out the door, stopping to grab some breakfast biscuits for the crew. I had texted Falcon to let him know in case he had the same idea, but he was running behind. There was a great hole in the wall shop on the way, so I ordered enough for everyone, but decided against drinks since we had coffee and a stocked fridge at the shop.

After parking, I grabbed the bag of food and took her hand once we got out of the cage. As we stepped inside the shop, Daisy looked up with a grimace until she saw who was with me. She practically turned her chair over jumping out of it and ran around the counter, flinging her arms around Lacy.

I let Lacy’s hand go so she could greet her friend and Falcon came up front to see what the commotion was. They both squealed and giggled as they held each other. Not only did I want her to be with me all day, but I hoped seeing Daisy would make her miss the clubhouse even more. I wasn’t above trying any means necessary to get her back where she belonged, and they were best friends.

“I missed you, girl!” Daisy said as they rocked each other.

“It’s so good to see you. It feels like it’s been ages,” Lacy said as she pulled back and looked at her friend.

Daisy’s eyes shot to me. “This only gets you partial points.”

“I absolutely brought her here just for you, Daisy.” I held the bag up. “I also got breakfast. Does that get any extra points?”

Lacy smacked my arm then grabbed the bag from my hand. “C’mon. Can you go eat back there?” she asked, pointing down the hall.

“I’ll hang out up here. I don’t have an appointment for a bit,” I said. We didn’t even have a front desk person until Daisy but I was willing to step up if it meant Lacy was happy and Daisy may cut me a little slack.

Lacy lifted on her toes so I leaned down to capture a kiss. “We won’t be long.”

“Take your time, doll.”

After the ladies practically skipped to the back room, Falcon came closer. “Thank fuck, man. She’s been mopey as hell.”

“Well, baby steps. She won’t come back for good yet. And I haven’t gotten her to agree to even spend the night with me yet. But I’ll take this as a win.”

“You’ll get there. I have faith in you, brother.”

“Here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later. I don’t like her at the dance club.”

“No shit,” Falcon huffed. “Daisy found out.”

My brows rose. “Oh yeah. How’d that go over?”

His lips thinned. “She wants a raise.”

I crossed my arms. “Well, once you knock her up, she’ll probably let that go.”

“Oh, I’m trying. It’s only a matter of time now. Did you talk to Hawk about a cut?”

“For who?”

Falcon rolled his eyes. “You’re a dipshit. For her,” he said, swinging his hand in the direction of the breakroom.

“Fucker, he told me I can’t claim her unless she agrees. I can’t even get her to the clubhouse, dipshit .”

“Have you told her that’s what you want?”

“I…” Stopping, I considered everything we talked about. I told her I needed her, I wanted to come back to the clubhouse, but did I tell her I wanted her to be mine? Like really mine, forever? “I’m working on it.”

“Like I said…dipshit. I gotta go prep my station and shovel a biscuit down. I suggest you get on that, and fast.”

As much as I wanted to argue with him, it was pointless. But she was hesitant to go all in and she’d made that clear. I needed to stay the course and stick to my plan. When I got her to Dad’s later, that would be just another layer, and giving her the car would help, too. She wanted some control of her life, to feel somewhat independent. I would take care of her, give her everything she needed or wanted, but I had to learn that sometimes that didn’t mean things.

The bunnies were around for one thing–find a man and do nothing but be an Old Lady and make babies. Lacy wasn’t like that. She would never expect me to take care of her that way, even though I’d do it in a heartbeat if it made her happy. So for now, I just had to come to terms with her wants and needs and hope that I fit into them.
