8. Cat
CAT
Easton's inky black hair shines in the moonlight, making it look almost blue.
His gray eyes hold me hostage as he hovers over me.
Tremors wrack my naked body but not because I am cold.
It's because Easton has just given me one of the most intense orgasms of my life.
The little voice inside my head tells me this is a bad idea, but I don't have the strength to deny what my body craves, and right now, it's Easton.
There's a good chance of a broken heart and the possibility of tears in my future.
Because that's all that will come of falling for a man like him.
Still, tonight, I'm going to throw all logic out the window and allow myself to feel a few hours of something special instead of a lifetime of regret for not taking what is bound to be the greatest pleasure I will ever experience.
Easton's hands on my body, his lips on mine, and the way his eyes are burning into me will create enough memories to feed my soul for a lifetime.
Even when the day comes that he walks away, I'll always have tonight.
So, I'm going to take it. I'm going to take all that he gives me tonight, and I'm going to cherish and feed off it for the rest of my life.
"Easton," I whisper, trying to catch my breath.
"I've never seen anything more beautiful than watching you come," Easton says, his voice gruff.
He then glides his finger through the seam of my wet pussy, making me shudder.
The same hand makes its slow trek up my body until Easton is cupping my breast. And using the same finger that was just inside me, he rubs slow circles around my nipple, coating it with my arousal.
He then leans down and takes the hardened peak into his mouth.
The growl that escapes past his lips causes my pussy to clench and my hips to buck forward.
I can feel Easton's cock pressing against my inner thigh, and I'm desperate to have it inside me.
He must read my thoughts because he releases my nipple then shoves his hand beneath my ass.
Easton's eyes find mine once again while I feel the head of his cock caressing my entrance, waiting.
Finally, his question is answered when I wrap my legs around his hips.
He doesn't waste another second before driving in.
My back arches, and a gasp escapes past my lips at the sheer sensation of being so deliciously stretched to accommodate the size of his cock.
I've only had two lovers in my life, and neither one came close to filling me the way Easton does.
"Yes," I hiss when he starts to move. My nails scrape against the skin of his back as I begin meeting his thrusts.
"Never," Easton says through clenched teeth. "Never has it been this good." My heart seizes at his declaration, and I close my eyes.
"Look at me," he orders while keeping his rhythm, which is slow and sweet. "Never had something so sweet and so fucking hot."
Easton's gaze burns me to my core, and I want to look away but don't because I want to believe so badly in his words.
"Mine," he declares just before taking my mouth with his, his tongue demanding entrance.
Again, I don't have the strength to deny this man, so I give it to him.
My mouth opens, and his taste explodes on my tongue, making me moan.
No words are spoken. Nothing but the sound of water moving on the lake, the wind in the trees, and the sounds of our heavy breathing surround us.
It doesn't take long for another orgasm to build.
When it does, my fingers grip the back of Easton's neck, and my legs tighten around his hips.
Easton takes a tight grip on my ass and forces my hips upward, burying himself deep inside me, reaching a place that makes my toes curl.
My eyes roll to the back of my skull, where I see nothing but an explosion of white flashing light dancing behind my eyelids.
"Easton!" I scream at the same time he shoves his face into the crook of my neck as his own release soars through his body. A noise between a growl and hiss works its way up through his chest and vibrates against my skin.
From the looks Summer keeps giving me from across the room I can tell she is dying to ask me about Easton.
The moment I walked into work today, she pointed out something was different about me.
I tried to play it off, but as thoughts of what happened last night with Easton flashed through my brain, I couldn't hide the blush that crept over my face.
Also, Easton had been with Lev at the bar last night, and I feel men talk just as much as women.
Therefore, Lev more than likely went home and told Summer about the scene between Easton and me.
Or, more importantly, how Easton flat out staked claim over me like a caveman before I stormed out of the bar.
Which I admit was hot as hell. I've never had a man act that way over me.
Like he would kill any man in the room who dared to look at me.
Like he'd die if he didn't get to touch me.
About two seconds after I walked into the salon today, a client came in wanting a color and a cut.
Needless to say, the past hour and fifty-five minutes have been torture for Summer.
Everyone else is at lunch, and that means now that Summer was wrapping things up and accepting payment from her customer, I’m about to be grilled.
"I'll see you in six weeks, Mrs. Jones. Have a good day." Summer walks the lady whose hair she just worked on to the door, and the moment we are alone, she turns to me. "Spill, Cat."
"How much did Lev tell you?" I query.
"Just that Easton is so far gone over you that seeing another man hit on you at the bar last night made him decide it was time to stake his claim. And that the two of you looked like you were having a pretty intense conversation before Easton dragged you out of there."
Slumping down into one of the salon chairs, I hold my head in the palms of my hands. "I think I made a mistake last night."
"Why on earth would you think that?" Summer asks, taking a seat in the chair across from me.
"Because I hardly know Easton, and I'm already starting to fall for him."
"I do not see the problem."
I lift my head. "You seriously don't see the problem with me falling for a man who is not only a famous rock star, but is also so far out of my league I can't see straight?
Not to mention Easton will be blowing out of town the second the situation with his stalker is over.
Hell, he probably just sees me as convenient," I add.
Though last night was one of the best nights of my life, I was careless.
"Do you actually believe the crap coming out of your mouth right now?" Summer fumes.
"What?" I'm taken aback by her forwardness.
Summer shakes her head. "Cat, it's a shame you don't see how beautiful you are. Not only are you gorgeous, but you're also kind, considerate, and a good friend."
"Summer, listen…" I don't finish my sentence because Summer cuts me off.
"No. It's true. Any guy would be lucky to have you, including the famous Easton Evans. From the way Lev says it, Easton knows it."
I let out a heavy sigh. "This is all happening too fast. I haven't had time to wrap my head around it."
Summer giggles. "You want my advice?"
I smile. "Maybe."
"Don't fight it. If Easton is anything like Lev, which I get the feeling when it comes to you, he is; he already sees you as his."
"That's crazy." I throw my hands in the air, and Summer laughs.
"I know, girl, trust me. That's just how these men work."
I go to open my mouth again when something behind me catches Summer's eye, and a second later, the bell over the door sounds. Turning the chair around, I'm shocked at who I see standing in front of me. "Carter." I stand.
"Hey, Cat." Carter strides right up to me and wraps his arms around my waist, picking me up.
"What are you doing here?" I return his embrace. "You said you weren't coming for a couple of weeks."
Carter sets me down. "I had some changes in my schedule and decided to come out sooner. I went by your place, and your grandfather said you were here. I was hoping I could steal you away for lunch. If not, I can come back." Carter eyes me then looks over my shoulder to Summer.
I step aside and introduce them. "Sorry. Carter, this is Summer, Summer, this is my old friend Carter. We grew up together."
Summer waves, and Carter tips his head. "Nice to meet you, Summer."
"You too," Summer returns.
I look down at my watch and then at Summer. "I'm going to take off for lunch unless you need me to stay."
"Nope. You go ahead. Lev will be here soon anyway to grab a bite."
"Okay. I'll be back in an hour." I turn back to Carter. "Let me grab my purse. Pizza? It's just down the street."
"Sounds good," Carter replies.
"Are you okay with walking?" I ask.
"Sure."
With one last wave over my shoulder to Summer, Carter and I leave.
Fifteen minutes later, we are seated at the pizza shop with a large pepperoni pizza between us. The walk here was done with polite conversation, but I knew Carter would bring the next topic up.
"Cat, I know we've talked the last time I was in town, and I have already apologized for how things went down in the past, but I want to repeat it. I'm sorry about Lana. I heard she's been being a bitch to you lately and that's on me."
"No it's not. Lana is just being Lana. She's always been like that and probably always will. Trust me, she doesn't bother me. Not like it did in high school. I'm not a kid anymore though. I can take care of myself."
Carter sets his slice down and gives me his full attention.
"I should have never let her treat you like she did back then.
" He shakes his head. "I got wrapped up in being popular and all the other stereotypical high school bullshit, but that doesn't excuse me ending years of friendship over it.
" He shakes his head. "I was so fucked up.
I allowed Lana to get in my head. She tried to convince me you had feelings for me and that the only way to let you down easy was to just end our friendship altogether. "
"I never had those kinds of feelings for you, Carter. You were my best friend. You were like a brother to me."
"I know that now. That was just Lana spewing her bullshit because she was jealous. I can't believe I didn't see her for who she really is."
Reaching across the table, I place my hand on Carter's arm. "At least you saw it sooner and not twenty years from now. And like I already told you, all is forgiven. Let's leave the past in the past. I'm just happy to have my friend back."
After taking a bite of pizza, I ask, "So, have you seen her?"
Carter shakes his head. "No. But then again, I just got into town this morning. Has the town been talking?"
I snort. "Does a zebra have stripes?"
"Figures."
"Don't worry. Everyone knows what a bitch Lana is, and we're all on your side."
Carter wipes his mouth with a napkin and tosses it on the table. "Yeah, I'm sure she's spreading her sunshine around."
A second snort escapes me. "You should have seen the way Mrs. Margaret put her in her place."
I proceed to give Carter a run-down of the interaction.
"You're shitting me," he laughs.
"Nope. I told you, everyone is on your side."
Over the next thirty minutes, Carter and I polish off the remainder of the pizza while catching up on what we have missed in each other's lives. I tell him about the ranch, and he tells me about baseball. He admitted how his mom still talked about us and how I still visit with her once a week.
Just as I'm about to open my mouth to ask another question, I spot a very pissed-off-looking Easton walking into the restaurant. My breath catches as his steel-gray eyes land on me.
