Chapter 21 #4

He looked past me and from where he stood, he could see straight through the kitchen into the living room where he saw Rome. I stepped closer and lowered my voice until it was barely more than a whisper.

“This isn’t a good time. Like I was telling you, he showed up drunk, and I’m waiting for somebody to call me back so they can get him.” I explained but Lev’s gaze returned to mine. I placed my hand lightly on his chest. “Go,” I whispered. “Please.”

He raised one finger and pressed it gently against my lips. “Shh.”

Before I could speak again, his hands were around my waist as he guided me backward, easing me into the apartment without making a sound. The door lightly clicked close shut behind him. My backside met the edge of the kitchen counter as the cool stone pressed my backside.

From where I stood, I had a clear view of the living room, but my back was turned so Lev’s gaze was fixed on Rome as he remained sprawled across the couch, completely unaware. Lev stepped between my knees, with his eyes glaring into mine in the candlelit kitchen.

With his eyes focused on Rome the entire time, he lifted me onto the counter and slowly kissed my neck causing me to squirm although my husband was a few feet away asleep, I couldn’t help how good Lev made me feel.

My hands found his shoulders as the soft flickers from the candles glowed on his face through his dark eyes.

In one motion, he pulled the Glock from the small of his waist holding it steady in one hand resting on the counter while he used the other to find my bare pussy before sliding two fingers inside.

I threw my head back and muffled a moan.

Lev’s lips found my ear as I grind my hips into his fingers feeling how wet I had already become.

“I’ma fuck you right here, you gone cum, and hard too,” he whispered before licking my earlobe causing that familiar shudder.

I said nothing as my body did the talking, but I couldn’t lie and say my heart wasn’t beating fast. What if Rome woke up?

“You hear me?” He asked in a low tone in my ear. “Tell me you want it.”

I bit my bottom lip and again tried to fight a moan as his fingers moved even faster. “Yess,” I moaned above a whisper. “I want it.”

“Good,” he told me already reaching down for his dick.

He used that same hand, ripped the condom open and slid it on without ever moving his other hand that had the gun in it.

he didn’t move that hand until he scooted me closer to the edge, slid my hips down a little and filled me up as I braced myself with my hands still planted on his shoulders.

For a good five to ten minutes for this quickie, I didn’t think about Rome although Lev’s eyes never left him.

In a weird kind of way, he was getting a kick out of fucking my brains out while my husband slept a few feet away.

Lev fucked me so good and hard, I didn’t want it to end, but when we both reached climax, we couldn’t hold it.

“Shitttt,” I gasped under my breath as a tear rolled out the side of my eye.

I could feel Lev’s dick thumping, and it made me want to cum all over again. Before he let me down, he whispered in my ear. “You gotta know you got some good pussy Navy.”

I smiled and licked my lips in a daze. When it was over, the candles had burned low enough that the room flickered between light and darkness.

My breathing still hadn’t returned to normal, and I kept glancing toward the living room, half expecting Rome to move but he didn’t.

Lev straightened his clothes without rushing, but his face was giving away nothing as he looked toward the couch.

For one second, something cold ran through his eyes.

“He’s leaving,” I whispered.

My phone vibrated against the counter so suddenly that I jumped. Bill’s name appeared on the screen as relief rushed through me. I answered immediately. “Hello?”

“My bad, I was asleep. You said Rome over there?”

“Yes. Drunk out of his mind. I sent you the address.”

Bill exhaled heavily. “Man, what the hell? I’m on my way.”

“How long before you get here?” I asked while still staring at Lev as he stared at me.

“Fifteen minutes.”

“Okay.” The call ended and I placed the phone down and closed my eyes for half a second.

Lev looked at me, then toward Rome again. “You let him in.”

The statement held no question, but I heard the one beneath it. “I didn’t want him driving. He could barely stand.”

“If you really trying to leave, that ain’t your responsibility.”

“I know.”

“Do you?”

The words landed harder than his damn tone. I folded my arms across myself. “I wasn’t trying to save our marriage, Lev. I was trying to keep a drunk man from getting back behind the wheel and killing somebody.”

A faint sound came from the couch and both of us looked. Rome shifted onto his back, mumbled something, then fell completely still again. I exhaled a sigh of relief. Lev had his Glock in one hand, and he pulled a thick envelop from his back pocket before passing it to me.

“What’s this?” I asked confused.

“Twenty-five thousand, and I hope you learned your lesson.” He gazed down into my eyes.

“I like you, and I ain’t gone act like I don’t, so I don’t want you beating up that pretty body no more working yourself like a slave.

Next time you see some shit that ain’t yours, remember what kind of danger can be lingering behind it. ”

I swallowed hard because I didn’t know what else to say. “I… Lev… I…”

Lev stepped closer, and once again placed his finger to my lips. “Lock this door behind me, and when they get him out, lock the front too.”

“I know.”

His eyes stayed on my face, quietly searching for something.

For a moment, I wanted to ask why he had come.

Why he had needed to see me badly enough to show up without warning.

Why he had been standing outside the back door before I even told him where to go.

But the questions felt too dangerous for a kitchen still holding the evidence of every complicated decision I had made that night, so I only nodded.

Lev opened the back door and disappeared into the hallway.

I then locked it behind him before I stood in the middle of the kitchen, with one hand resting against the counter while Rome slept twenty feet away and Bill’s headlights had yet to appear through the blinds.

My husband was unconscious on my couch. His pregnant mistress was calling his phone.

The man I owed twenty-five thousand dollars had just walked out of my back door after fucking me right here a few feet away from my husband and even giving me the money.

My best friend was preparing to end a pregnancy she had been too afraid to tell me about until today.

I looked around at the shopping bags near my bedroom, the dying candles, Rome’s jacket hanging across my chair, and the blanket twisted at the opposite end of the couch.

Less than twelve hours earlier, Tasha and I had been lying inside a spa laughing about the tension in my shoulders.

Now every muscle in my body had tightened again.

The headlights swept briefly across the front window, and I moved toward the door before Bill had the chance to knock.

He needed to get Rome’s ass out of here.
