CHAPTER 24
“I said don’t come closer,” Rayne warned again. His whole body trembled like a shaking leaf, yet he stood firm, gripping the table lamp tightly. He knew his condition well, he only fell asleep after the danger passed, once he felt safe. Not now. Not when he was still threatened.
The two men in front of him stared at him with lust-filled eyes.
Those were the kind of eyes that had already stripped him naked in their minds.
“What are you two waiting for? Do it, hurry. We don’t have time to waste,” the omega barked from behind them.
The betas were about to step forward when the omega’s phone suddenly rang. He picked up the call.
(Omega) “Yes, I understand. Okay. Thanks for telling.”
He hung up and commanded coldly, “He’s a virgin. No need to check. Just grab him. We need to take him with the other goods.” The two guards nodded. Without wasting a second, they grabbed Rayne.
In one moment he was struggling,
In the next, he was thrown into another place. It was like a basement. Beds were lined around the room.
When Rayne was thrown inside, the doors slammed shut behind him.
The other omegas only glanced at him for a few seconds.
His face was pressed to the floor, so they could only see him from behind.
No one came to help him. Most of them didn’t care, because they were in the same situation and had no power to help anyone.
A few seconds later, Rayne pushed himself up, using the ground for support.
His eyes scanned the room. Some omegas lay silently on the beds, some walked around, and some were reading books. Most of them were dominant omegas.
As Rayne looked around, he noticed a hand reaching toward him. He lifted his gaze.
A dominant omega stood in front of him. His beauty was unreal, moon-like hair and galaxy-like eyes that strangely held kindness in them.Rayne took his hand and stood up. “Hi, I’m Khiten. And you?” the omega said softly. “You must have been brought here today, judging by your clothes.”
“I’m Rayne,” he replied quietly. “And yes… I was kidnapped today. But I shouldn’t be here. They’re all going to regret this when my family or husband finds out.” His words were soft, but they caught everyone’s attention. A few omegas gave tired, faint smiles.
Dominant omegas didn’t come from poor families.
They were usually born into rich homes. Yet many of them were standing here.
Some had been sold by relatives. Some by boyfriends.
Some by fiancés.This slave organization paid extremely high prices to buy omegas…
just to sell them again.Someone scoffed from behind them, their voice cold.
“No one is coming to save you. Mark my words,” the voice said.
“It was probably your own family who sold you in the first place. And your ‘husband’? Who knows, he might be involved too.” In the beginning, all of them had been like Rayne, Hopeful.
Defiant. Trusting. But as the days passed, they realized the truth.
No one was coming. And slowly, they were forced to accept their reality.
Rayne felt bitterness rise in his chest at those words.
He knew his family could never do something like this.
They were already tangled in their own problems, and Lucian was at work.
He knew the truth. It was Iosif. Rayne stepped forward and snapped at that omega, “I don’t know why you’re saying this, but it’s not the same case with me. ” Only a scoff echoed back at him.
Rayne glanced around the room. There were no windows. Only ceiling lights and an air-conditioning unit hummed above. A single door stood at the far end, the same one he had been thrown through. A strange smell hung in the air. It reminded him of hospitals, sterile, cold, and wrong.
His full attention stayed glued to the door, so he didn’t notice when the omega who had spoken kindly to him earlier stepped closer.Khiten. A hand touched his shoulder. Rayne flinched and turned around quickly. Khiten stood there, looking at him quietly.“Rayne… are you marked?” he asked.
Rayne’s fingers went to the back of his neck, touching the bite mark. He remembered Lucian marking him. “Yes. It’s… a temporary mark.” The area no longer hurt, but Lucian’s scent still lingered on it, wrapping around him like an invisible presence, almost as if Lucian was standing right behind him.
“I feel bad for you,” Khiten said quietly. “You’re an elite omega… but you should know, there’s one ordinary omega here who’s mute. He can’t speak, but he’s very beautiful.” Khiten glanced toward a bed in the corner. Rayne followed his gaze. A small omega sat there.
Long black hair was tied in a half ponytail, his bangs falling over his eyes, hiding his expression. From the way he sat, still, hollow, and distant, it didn’t look like he wanted to live anymore at all. Rayne walked toward him and sat down gently on the edge of the bed.
Khiten didn’t follow. Instead, he smirked faintly as he looked at the silent omega, then turned away and walked back to his own bed.
The boy slowly lifted his head, brushing his bangs back behind his ears when he noticed Rayne sitting beside him. When their eyes met, Rayne saw hazel eyes, dry, empty, and stripped of every trace of hope or desire to live.
The boy tilted his head slightly and whispered,
“Tu… al… you?” { Who are you??}
His words came out broken and childish. Rayne couldn’t understand them. A wave of scoffs echoed through the room. That was when Rayne understood. The boy wasn’t mute. He just couldn’t speak properly like the others. That was why everyone called him mute.
“Did you see that? He really went to talk to that mental boy. Lol. It’s so funny,” Khiten sneered. Rayne understood then.
Everyone here had gotten used to this place. They had accepted their fate. And now. they had started looking down on others just to survive.
As Rayne was looking at him, out of nowhere the guy grabbed his hand. Tears streamed down the stranger’s face all of a sudden. He looked like a crying child, helpless and broken. Rayne couldn’t stop himself, he pulled him into a hug.
Despite the situation, the guy seemed younger than Rayne. Rayne had always wanted a younger brother, and seeing the boy cry like that made him want to comfort him even more. “Look at this drama. Two losers hugging each other,” a guy snickered. “I feel disgusted just looking at them,” another added.
For them, the scene was amusing despite the miserable situation they were all in. Rayne didn’t pay attention to them. He didn’t reply. He didn’t react.
Within the next hour, the young omega had fallen asleep.
Rayne was getting tired too when one of the omegas suddenly switched off the basement light.
Darkness swallowed the room in an instant.
For a few seconds, Rayne couldn’t see anything.
When his eyes adjusted, he saw that everyone was already on their beds, fast asleep.
No one was awake. Silence filled the space.
With no other choice, he lay down on an empty bed, pulled the thin quilt around himself, and stared at the ceiling until sleep slowly claimed him. He slept for two hours.
The next moment, he snapped his eyes open, greeted by bright light.
Everyone was awake now, talking among themselves.
Rayne was about to sit up when he felt something at his feet.
He pulled his legs closer, only to see the young omega curled there, sleeping like a puppy.
His body was folded in on itself, clinging to warmth.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, catching everyone’s attention.
A woman stood there. Behind her was the omega who had slapped Rayne earlier. The woman was wearing a black shirt and black pants. She was an alpha. Her eyes immediately landed on Rayne.
The room went dead silent. Rayne could see the fear on the other omegas’ faces. They were terrified of the woman.
She stepped closer. Rayne kept staring at her, there was no reason for him to feel scared. “Wow. Your face is so fuckable,” she said. “Sian, take everyone out. I want this omega,” she ordered, grabbing Rayne’s jaw and licking her lips.
Rayne jerked her hand away and shouted coldly, “Don’t touch me.
” Everyone was shocked by his courage. As the omegas were leaving, some smirked.
The woman standing in front of Rayne was no ordinary woman.
She was here specially to buy sex slaves for herself.
Everyone feared her pheromones, but Rayne couldn’t sense them, he was unaffected.
When the room was almost empty, the omega Sian came and stood beside her.
“Miss Jora… actually, this one is not for sale. This one is special. Only Master Losif is allowed to touch him,” Sian whispered.
But it didn’t affect the woman at all.
She rolled up her sleeves. “How much do you want for one night?”
Sian started to smile. “One hundred million. And I won’t tell Master Losif about this.”
“Great deal,” Jora said, sitting down on the bed beside Rayne. “I’ll take the angel with me,” Sian said, referring to the young omega curled at the corner of the bed.
“Let him be. I might enjoy both. Bonus will be given to you. Now give us privacy. Make sure no one comes near us.”
Sian nodded with a smile and left, closing the door behind him. As he left, Rayne turned his head toward Jora. Her hair was black, and there was darkness in her eyes.
He was about to speak, but before he could,“Rayne… I am Ren’s older sister.”
At first, Rayne didn’t understand what she meant, or which Ren she was talking about. Then it hit him. Ren… Lucian’s best friend. When Rayne looked at her face again, he could see it. The resemblance. The same sharp eyes, the same bone structure. She really did look like Ren.
When Rayne had been kidnapped and San found out about it, he had panicked.
Not knowing what to do, he had called Lucian immediately.
Ren had been with Lucian at that time. Together, they watched the CCTV footage and found out that it was Losif who had kidnapped Rayne.
They searched through all of Losif’s warehouses, but they found no trace of Rayne.
That was when something clicked in Lucian’s mind. Since Losif’s main business was prostitution, he operated multiple slave organizations and underground clubs. And in that dark industry, Ren’s older sister was deeply involved. She was a regular customer.
That was why Jora had been moving from one club and organization of Losif, searching for “new” and “special” goods, wasting money just to get close to Rayne. And in the end… She finally found him here.
“Do you actually think I’ll believe you? I don’t even know you, and you’re telling me to believe you.” It was obvious he was in a situation where he couldn’t trust anyone.
“And even if I believe you… what are your plans now?” he asked.
Her brows raised at his words. “Wow, you seem more mature than you look, Rayne. But don’t worry, your husband is no ordinary man. I’ve already sent him a message.” She chuckled.
Angel, who had been asleep, suddenly moved and sat up.
As soon as he saw the woman sitting there and noticed her cold expression, fear washed over him.
He quickly went to Rayne and clung to him.
He squeezed his eyes shut tightly as he hugged Rayne’s arm.
Rayne understood instantly that Angel was scared and gently patted his head.
“I want to take Angel with me. And… are we going to leave now?”
Of course, they were not going to leave now. Lucian wasn’t here, and this wasn’t a place from which Jora could simply take Rayne away. Things didn’t work like that here.
Once someone is sold into the slave organization, their name gets registered in official documents. So even if Rayne managed to escape successfully today…
The people from the organization would still come after him. It didn’t matter how much time had passed. They could come after him immediately, or even years later, to capture him again.
