Chapter Twelve
E asy
I cut the engine as we roll up the driveway, and the heavy silence from this morning settles right back between us.
Lexi’s arms loosen around my waist, and I can feel the tension radiating off her. I fucking hate it and know that I have to do something to fix things.
“Thanks for the ride,” she says, her voice soft, almost a whisper.
“I—” She slides off the seat from behind me before I can even grunt a reply.
“Fuck,” I growl, watching her storm up to the house with a determined set to her shoulders.
Like a fucking love-struck fool, I watch her go, her ponytail swinging and her plump ass swishing.
Oh yeah, she's still pissed, and I can't exactly blame her.
I fucked up this morning, plain and simple. Claiming her without so much as a damn word? Rookie mistake.
Swinging my leg over the bike, I rake a hand through my hair and take a deep breath. “Time to beg for forgiveness, asshole.”
Closing the front door behind me, the house is quiet except for the distant sound of Lexi’s shoes on the stairs. I look up, hearing every step she takes as she makes her way into our room.
“Fuck,” I growl again, already moving to follow her. By the time I reach the top step, I can hear the water running in the bathroom.
I stand outside the door, my hand pressed to the cool wood. Apologizing ain’t exactly in my repertoire.
Blowing out another heavy breath, I push the door open just a crack, and steam billows out. Through the frosted glass of the shower, I can make out the blurred outline of her body, slender curves distorted by the condensation. She's facing away from me, head tilted back, the water cascading over her.
Despite her being pissed off, my dick stands to attention.
Quietly, I start stripping, peeling off my cut and laying it on the counter before taking off my shirt and dropping it to the floor. My boots and jeans follow, and soon I'm standing naked with my cock in my hand.
Lexi turns slightly, finally noticing she’s no longer alone. Our eyes meet through the glass, and for a moment, neither of us moves. “I’m still mad,” she says, turning her back to me.
Taking that as a damn invitation, I slide the shower door open and step inside. Lexi keeps her back to me, but she doesn't flinch as I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her gently against me.
“I’m sorry,” I murmur against her wet hair.
She leans into me slightly. “For what?”
Of course, she’s going to make me say it all out loud. Fuck me, I’m falling for this little ball buster.
“For not talking to you before bringing your situation to the club. For making decisions without you,” I say the words out loud.
She sighs, and I feel the rise and fall of her chest beneath my arms. “You should have,” she agrees before adding, “but I get that you were just trying to help.”
“Doesn’t make it right,” I admit, feeling like this is a huge moment for us.
She turns in my arms, tilting her head to look up at me. Water droplets cling to her eyelashes, and her green eyes search mine. “I’m scared,” she says softly. “Everything’s moving so fast, and I feel like I’m losing control.”
“I get that.” I brush a strand of wet hair away from her face. “But you’re not alone anymore. I want to help carry the weight.”
A small smile touches her lips. “You don’t have to fix everything, you know.”
“Maybe not, but I want to.” I rest my forehead against hers. “I care about you, Lex.”
Her eyes soften, and she places a hand on my cheek. “I care about you, too.”
Relief floods through me, easing the knot in my gut. “Can you forgive me?”
She pretends to think about it, a teasing glint in her eye. “Well, you did bring me breakfast.”
I chuckle. “Is that all it takes?”
“It’s a good start.” She wraps her arms around my neck, pressing her body against mine.
“A start, huh?” I slide my hands down her back, feeling the smoothness of her skin under my fingertips. “Tell me, baby. What does a man need to do to get back in your good graces?”
“He could make me come,” she says, her eyes hooded.
“Whatever you want, baby.” I tilt her chin up and capture her lips in a slow, tender kiss. She responds immediately, her mouth warm and eager beneath mine as her fingers thread through my hair, pulling me closer as I deepen the kiss.
I growl, exploring her mouth, taking my time, savoring every sigh and soft moan. The steam envelops us, creating our own little world where nothing exists but the two of us.
I trail kisses along her jaw, down the column of her neck. Lexi tilts her head back, giving me better access as her nails lightly scrape against my scalp. My cock twitches between us, begging to be inside her.
“Shawn,” she whispers, her voice barely audible over the water.
“Yeah?” I murmur against her skin.
“Don’t stop.”
“Wasn’t planning on it.”
Sliding my hands lower, I grip her hips as I press her gently against the cool tile wall, making her gasp. I capture the sound with my mouth, hungry for more.
Her hands roam over my shoulders, down my arms, mapping every inch of me before she grabs my cock, her fingers wrapping around my shaft. I groan, breaking the kiss to trail my lips down her neck.
I pause, searching her eyes for any hesitation. “You sure about this?”
Lexi grins. “Yes. I want you to fuck me, Shawn.”
My hands tighten around her hips, and I lift her off her feet. “That’s what I want to hear.”
Lexi wraps her legs around my waist, the heat of her pussy against me is almost my undoing. Reaching between us, I align my cock with her entrance, feeling her slick warmth.
“Fuck.” I slide into her, slowly at first, then with a hard thrust, filling her completely.
“Ah,” she cries out from the intrusion.
“Hold on to me.” Lexi’s arms go around my neck as I lift her up, then drop her back onto my cock. The world fades away until there’s nothing but the slick slide of our skin, the warmth of her breath against my neck, and the way her eyes meet mine with complete trust.
“Harder,” she begs.
Giving her what she needs, I fuck her hard against the tiles, one hand gripping her ass, the other bracing against the wall. She rocks her hips, meeting every thrust. I stare, mesmerized by her tits bouncing from the impact as her fingers dig into my shoulders. “Yes!” she shouts.
The feel of her wrapped around me, the sight of her on the edge, solidifies what I’ve known since the moment she showed up on my porch. “You’re mine, Lex. Fucking mine!”
I slide my hand between us, find her clit with my fingers and rub the hardened nub in tight circles.
“Yes, yes,” she chants, throwing her head back before her mouth opens again in a silent scream as her pussy clenches around my cock. “Shawn,” she gasps my name as her body starts to quake seconds before she’s thrown over the edge.
I thrust harder, deeper, until finally I’m right there with her, and with a final thrust of my hips, I plant myself deep, holding onto her tight as I spill inside her.
Spent, I drop my forehead to hers. Lexi breathes against my lips. “Wow.”
I open my eyes slowly, looking down into hers. “I love you.” The words slip out, but there’s not a single piece of me that wants to take them back. I mean it. I do love her, and it’s completely fucked that it’s happened so fast, but I don’t care.
Tears well up in her eyes, but she doesn’t shy away. “I love you too.”
A slow grin spreads across my face as her words settle over me. “You have no idea how fucking glad I am to hear you say that,” I murmur, pulling her against me as the water cascades over us. “You're my old lady now, Lex, and that means something in my world.”
She looks up, a playful spark in her eyes. “Oh yeah? And what's that mean exactly?”
“It means you're mine, and if anyone messes with you, they mess with me—and the club.” I brush a thumb over her cheek, my gaze locked on hers, hoping she sees the seriousness. “Everything you do reflects back on me.”
The smile on her face falls as her fingers trace patterns on my chest. “Oh. I won’t embarrass you if that’s what you’re worried about.”
My body stiffens. “It’s not about embarrassing me, Lex. I could give a fuck about that. It just means if you break club rules, I have to answer for it.”
“Oh,” she says again, a look of understanding washing over her face. “I won’t do that either.”
“I know,” I say, leaning down to press a firm kiss against her lips. “But just so you know, it wouldn’t matter either way. I don't plan on letting you go.”
My softening cock slips free and I set her on her feet.
“Promise?” she whispers when we part.
“On my life.”
Lexi melts into me, and we stand there, soaking up the hot water before we finally finish washing up.
Thankfully, the earlier tension between us is gone, and it feels like we’re in a better place. Lexi steps out of the shower, her cheeks flushed as she wraps a towel around her.
I follow suit, grabbing my own towel from the rack.
As I dry myself off, I watch her move about the bathroom. Her movements graceful and unhurried. She catches me staring at her and raises an eyebrow.
“What?” she asks, a bashful smile on her lips.
“Nothing,” I reply, leaning against the counter, eating up the sight of her naked body. “Just enjoying the view.”
She rolls her eyes, but I catch the hue of pink painted across her cheeks. “You’re crazy.”
“Crazy about you.” I reach for her hand. “Come on, let’s get in bed.”
Lexi takes my hand and follows behind me into the bedroom. As I’m pulling back the covers, she heads for my dresser and grabs one of my old tees. She slips it over her head, and the fabric hangs loosely on her petite frame, hitting just below her knees.
“Don’t know why you’re putting that on.”
“What if the house catches on fire?” She has a point, but I plan on having her naked and on her back very soon.
“Hm,” I grunt, pulling on a pair of sweatpants and gesturing toward the bed. She can have her way for now. “Wanna watch a movie?”
She glances at the clock. “Uhm, sure. What do you have in mind?”
“Die Hard?” I suggest, knowing it’s been playing a lot this month.
She laughs. “Please don’t tell me you’re one of those people who think it’s a Christmas movie.”
I clutch my hands to my chest. “You wound me, baby. Are you saying that you don’t?”
Lexi plants her hands on her hips. “Bless your heart. You are one of them. Honey, it’s an action flick that just happens to be set at Christmas.”
My heart skips a beat. “Call me honey again.”
“What?”
“You called me honey. Say it again.”
She nibbles on the corner of her lip as she moves closer. “Bless your heart, honey.”
Before she even has a chance to react, I scoop her up into my arms and drop her onto the bed, making her break out into a fit of giggles.
I switch on the television and cue up the streaming app, selecting Die Hard before climbing in beside her.
As the movie starts, she snuggles into my side, her head resting on my shoulder. I wrap an arm around her, pulling her close. Halfway through the movie, I feel her shift and drop my eyes to find her staring up at me. “Shawn?”
“Yeah, baby?”
She hesitates. “Thank you.”
I glance down at her. “For what?”
“For making me feel safe.”
Her words hit me square in the chest. “Always,” I promise. “You’re always safe with me.”
