Chapter 20 #2

I smiled cockily once more then he stepped away and left the kitchen. I had respect for Alex. He loved his sister and was willing to threaten me on her behalf, regardless of my reputation, but I meant what I said. I was the last person he needed to worry about when it came to Scotlyn.

Before I could get back to the woman in question and keep my word, the second Whitney was in my face.

Valerie. She looked me up and down before angling her head to the side and crossing her arms over her chest. She and Scotlyn looked a lot alike.

Identical faces, same eyes but Valerie’s skin was more caramel while her sister’s was more of a deep rich chocolate.

“I’m sure my brother gave you the whole barbaric ‘touch my sister and die’ speech and while I believe that’s necessary, I’m a woman.

So what’s more important to me is how you feel about Scot.

She’s been through a lot, and while I believe she deserves the right to enjoy a man who has all this to offer…

” Her eyes moved over me from head to toe.

“Even if she’s just having a little fun, my sister also needs someone who will truly make her happy.

Orgasms come and go. While you look like you’re fully capable of providing the best kind, I want to know if that’s all you plan on giving her. ”

“What makes you think I’m giving her orgasms?”

I arched my brow and she tilted her head in challenge more, not here for my shit.

I chuckled and locked eyes with her. “My goal is to provide your sister with whatever she’s willing to receive.

While I’m very skilled with the ability of handing out orgasms, I’m also a man who fully understands what your sister brings to the table and it’s not just her body. ”

“You’re a man but do you have intentions of being her man?”

Was that what I was offering?

“My intentions, yes, but that’s completely up to your sister. I can’t fill a role she’s not willing to let me occupy. But there’s very little I want that I’m not able to obtain, and I want your sister, so does that answer your question?”

I wanted Scotlyn…

Valarie smiled. “Yes, that answers my question.”

“Val, can you give us a minute?” My eyes moved over Valerie’s head and locked on Scotlyn who was standing in the entrance of the kitchen.

Valerie nodded and left me but stopped in front of her sister, hugged her, then whispered something private between the two of them that made Scotlyn choke on a laugh before she left.

When she approached me, I lifted her around the waist, set her on the counter, and stepped between her legs.

“You going to share?”

Scotlyn’s hand moved to my side as she toyed with my shirt and shook her head gently. “No.”

I tucked her hair behind her ear and leaned in for a kiss. “Do you want me to leave?”

“No, I’m glad you came but I am curious as to why you’re here.”

“The goal was to fly in so I would be here after your meeting, have dinner to celebrate, then see how many times I could make you cum before we landed.”

She smiled slowly and curled her fingers into my shirt. “I guess I messed that up but thank you.”

I moved my hands to her ass and pulled her closer. “For offering to make you cum?”

Scotlyn’s beautiful smile surfaced. “For this.” She pulled me closer. “No matter what got you here, you’re here.”

I kissed her again and Scotlyn’s shoulders dropped. “Today was exhausting.”

“Do you want to talk about it?”

My eyes fastened to hers, noticing tears were forming before she shook her head. When one of those damn tears escaped, I got pissed but kept my composure. “Tell me why you’re crying.”

Scotlyn’s relationship with her father wasn’t the best, but regardless, he was still her father.

I understood having a love-hate relationship with a parent.

That was the case with both of mine, and when our father died last year, I felt indifferent.

I stood at his grave with my siblings and didn’t even shed a tear.

He spent his last few years in a facility with round the clock care because of his condition. I never visited.

I had very few memories of him loving and nurturing me. It was different for my sisters but even they were divided. Both Jona and Cress spent their lives trying to live up to our parents’ incredibly high standards for what their children should be and never quite measured up in our parents’ eyes.

If Scotlyn was crying because the loss of her father hurt, I could deal with that. But if she was crying because he hurt her once again, that was an entirely different thing.

“I hate him so much…” she said quietly before adding, “But I don’t know how not to love him too.”

“Both are valid. What do you need?” I pressed my forehead to hers.

“To leave. I want to stay for Val and Alex but I just really don’t think I can be here for any of this. I know that makes me look like a horrible daughter but…”

“It doesn’t. There’s no script with this shit, Scot. You can feel however you want and there’s not a damn person in this world who can judge you for those feelings. If they do, they can see me.”

“You can’t fight the world for me, Christian.”

“You sure about that?”

She smiled and sighed. “I’m sure.”

“Tell me what you need.”

“Is your jet still here?”

“Yeah…”

“Can we leave?”

“We can but you sure that’s what you want?”

When she didn’t answer right away, I made the decision for her. “How about we stay the night and see how you feel in the morning? If you still want to leave, we can.”

She nodded and tightened her arms around my neck. “Can you give me something to distract me from all this? Just for a little while.”

“Yeah, I can do that.” I kissed her. “Come on.”

I lifted Scotlyn off the counter, wrapped her in my arms, and dropped a kiss on top of her head. “Are Alex and Valerie staying with you tonight?”

“Alex won’t if you are, Val might.”

“Would you rather I get us a suite?”

She shook her head. “No, it’s fine. We can stay here. I’m going to see what their plans are.”

“Aight, I’m going to make a few calls. I didn’t bring anything with me…”

Scotlyn frowned, as if just considering that, and I kissed her temple. “Go talk to them. I’ve got this covered.”

While she talked to her siblings, I made arrangements to get some stuff brought to me. By the time I was done, both Alex and Val were gone, which worked in my favor, because for the next couple hours I planned on providing the distraction Scotlyn apparently needed.
