From the Desk of Sir Carlton Morley

Commander of Scotland Yard

Eli,

My wife, Prudence, and I have enjoyed following you down the shadowy hallways of history in your quest for the Midas Chalice.

Indeed, we have found a possible lead in our very own backyard.

Or, rather, next door to Cresthaven Place, the house in which my wife spent her childhood.

There, a decrepit hag lurked like a dragon over a hoard of treasure pillaged from yet “undiscovered” ruins in the Near East. She is selling her home from her deathbed, and some of the treasures therein have been promised to the Royal Archeological Society as well as other museums and historical preservation organizations.

However, she is famous for making shrewd deals on the black market.

Speaking of the black market, I’ve contacts from whom I’ve heard a whisper of the Anatolian Sapphire being close by. I’m thinking you should make your way to the Old Country.

One never knows what treasures await…

Your friend,

Carlton Morley
