Chapter 15: Our New Story.

Madison

I wake up in the arms of someone strong.

His gentle breathing down my neck, a faint reminder of the hickeys that are probably still visible on my neck.

I close my eyes as I force myself backward, letting him cradle me properly.

He exhales deeply and buries his face in my hair.

His left arm secures my waist as he lets the right one explore my body, settling on my breasts.

Surprised by how his hands can easily touch my bare skin, I look down and notice I'm naked.

I'm in his bed.

How did I get up here?

I have no clue.

All I remember is falling asleep with Killian in the living room.

Did he carry me up here?

Not important.

I love this moment.

The way he holds me close to himself.

I want it to continue, just a little bit more.

I remember last night.

We had sex again, but this was different. There was something deeper than our first time. There was neither sadness nor a desire to escape the disgust a certain stalker had made me feel. There was just Killian, his lips capturing mine, his fingers trailing and taming my body, his passion making me his and his alone.

That's all there was.

He kisses my neck.

"Stop pretending to be asleep," he murmurs, and the sound of his morning baritone against my neck tickles and excites me.

I know he's been awake. If anything, his member throbbing against my behind is enough to tell me he's up and ready.

I start fake snoring.

"That's how we're going to play, huh?" he growls as he bites my neck.

My body jolts with pleasure. My entrance embarrasses me by slowly getting moist.

Keep it together, Madison; it's not even 9 a.m.

His right hand lets go of my breasts and settles on my hips. He slowly moves to the front and touches my pubic area.

Come to think of it, did I shave?

I have no time to think about personal pubic hygiene.

As he moves lower, I unconsciously spread open my legs, giving him proper access.

"So, you're awake after all," he says.

"Tch, good morning, Killian," I greet.

"Good morning, Madison," he says as his hand leaves my privates, and he embraces me properly, sighing as well.

"You had a wonderful night?" I ask.

"The best," he replies.

"You jest," I sigh. "I'm sure other women have been able to offer you satisfaction."

"This house… do you think anyone comes here?" he asks.

I think about it.

Killian is a busy person. If he returns home, he'll sleep.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen anyone visit.

He doesn't socialize. Doesn't seem like the type to.

He goes to work and goes straight back home.

I don't see myself living like that.

But that's Dr. Killian Ray's lifestyle.

"You're quite the lone wolf, I'll admit," I reply.

"You have no idea," he says as he squeezes me more.

I don't mind how tight he's holding me. To think I have claustrophobia, but having him confining me in his embrace doesn't count as a trigger for my phobia.

"I don't get it, though. Why are you alone?" I ask.

"Why was I alone, you mean?" he corrects. "I don't really know the answer to that. I just spend my life the best way possible: in the comfort of my solitude."

"Don't try to sound cool to me, doctor," I warn. "Tell me where it hurts."

He's silent, processing what I've just relayed to him.

"I guess… I didn't find anyone who was that comfortable with me," he finally says. "But none of that matters now. I have you."

You… have me?

What does that make us now?

"I wish I could stay longer," he sighs, and his grip loosens, causing me to feel slightly cooler. "But I have to leave for work."

He lets go of me and makes his way out of the bed.

"You own the place," I murmur, frowning as I turn to face him.

Gazing at his back, I can't help but notice how broad it is. My arms struggled to hug him last night, and now I partially understand why.

I go lower and find his cute behind, causing me to smile and almost giggle. But as he turns to face me, I try my best not to look at his morning wood. But the sight is marvelous to behold. My entrance clenches as I remember how it felt with that thing inside of me.

To think I would be making those sounds.

"What?" he asks. "You said I own the place?"

"Uh? Huh? Yeah, yes, I mean… ahem," I clear my throat and sit upright. "If you own the place, you don't have to leave so quickly."

"What's this?" he asks. I turn and find him grinning mischievously. "Does the strong, independent Madison want me to abandon my job and spend time with her?"

"What? No!" I frown and look away. "Fine. Go to your office. I just thought you needed more rest after…"

I trail off as I remember how long the passionate night was.

"After what?" he asks as he returns to bed, kneeling next to me. He holds my chin and makes me face him slowly, saying, "Whatever are you thinking about?"

His eyes…

Since the night at the club, they've held a power over me that I can't seem to escape.

At first, I couldn't stand how they made me feel all funny, but now… I don't mind.

"We spent… a long night… together," I reply softly and hesitantly as I notice his face getting closer. My eyes slowly close, anticipating what is to come.

"That we did," he says softly before kissing me.

I want to melt.

The soft, gentle touch of his lips against mine is bliss.

He lets go of my chin and cradles the left side of my face, his fingers running a hypnotic pattern behind my ear.

The kiss is over; he pulls away.

His thumb wipes gently across my lips.

His eyes seem to ask the same question, and besides the loud drumming of my heart, I can hear him clearly.

Is this what I think it is?

I place my hand on his chest, and the wild beating surprises me as it clearly surpasses mine.

His phone starts ringing, ruining the moment. I worry it's Nathan, but as he checks the phone, he puts it back on the table and sighs.

"Work calls," he says.

"Okay," I say as I try to compose myself.

"Tell you what? I don't have anything to do during my break, so why not come visit?" he asks.

"I'd love to," I answer with the enthusiasm of a ten-year-old.

My excitement pleases him, but the grin switches to a worried one.

"Don't bother using the elevator," he says. "Call me, and I'll come down to get you."

I have to thank whatever deity in charge of my phobia of confined spaces.

"Thank you," I say with a smile of gratitude. "What are we going to do?"

"You'll find out when you come," he replies as he makes his way to the bathroom. "Join me for a bath."

It's not an offer. Just an order.

An order I have no qualms obeying.

I follow him.

"So… you two are dating now?" Gwen asks on the phone.

I'm on my bed, reviewing the work she has asked me for help in exchange for spending some time with me.

With Killian inviting me to his office, I'm too excited to focus on any of my own work. So, I use Gwen's work as a distraction, at least until I'm ready to leave.

"I wouldn't say we are actually," I reply. "Aaaand done! With your work, that is."

"There better not be any mistakes," she says as I watch her cursor blink on the document. We're reviewing it remotely.

"Just say thank you, you ungrateful wench," I shoot back.

"At least I'm decisive about what I want, unlike a certain someone who hasn't decided anything yet," she says.

"What I want, huh?" I ask rhetorically as I think about him.

The way he talked this morning... and the way he treated me last night.

There's the doubt that maybe he just said all that on a whim, but there's no doubt that what happened last night was a whim.

The problem remains…

"What do you plan to do now?" Gwen asks the same question that bothers me. "Do you want to take this seriously as a relationship? Or do you think he's just wanting the sex? Then again, you don't really sound against the latter."

"To be honest, I'm not really against either option," I sigh.

"Coward."

"I accept that title with pride," I smirk.

I'm not kidding.

I conclude that the only way to confirm any of this is to see him during his break.

***

I'm outside the hospital.

I text him that I've arrived, and he asks me to wait.

I stare at the sundress I'm wearing, worried that I've made the wrong choice.

But the blazing sunlight makes me a little more confident in my outfit choice. I adjust the hat and let out a sigh.

Is it too late to go home and change?

"It's freaking hot," Killian's baritone reaches me.

I turn around and find my date wiping his face with a handkerchief.

"Will you be…?" he stops the question and looks at me intently.

"Wh… what is it?" I ask as I look at my dress. "It doesn't look good?"

"I don't remember the last time I saw someone wearing a sundress," he replies. "Now I wish I was taking you to a sunflower meadow and watching you play amongst the flowers."

"I… I see. Thank you," I say with a smile. I'm now happy with the outfit I chose to wear and ask, "So, what are we going to do?"

"I remember you beat most of my high scores on my PlayStation," he replies. "I wanted to settle this at a game center?"

I stare at him in disbelief before bursting into laughter and ask, "Is that your idea of a date place?"

"Stop laughing, I thought… I thought it was a good idea," he says as his shoulders drop. "We can go somewhere else."

"What's this? The mighty grumpy Killian is sulking?" I tease as I pinch his cheek. "You are going to take me to the gaming center. I didn't expect it, but it's perfect."

His eyes brighten up as he switches back into his usual character, then extends his hand to me, saying, "I see you're really eager to spend the day with me. Very well, I'll fulfill that desire."

"Whatever you say, sir," I respond, trying my best not to laugh, and I accept his hand. "But perhaps for your next date with another lady, don't take her to a gaming center for a first date."

"There's no other lady," he says as his hand squeezes mine. "Only Madison."

His words make my heart skip a beat.

Is this finally the answer I seek?

I have to test it a little bit.

"It's like you're confessing your feelings for me," I tease.

He doesn't say anything in response. His silence and passionate gaze, enveloping my body, are an answer enough.

"Let's go then," I say with a smile.

***

It turned out to be the best date ever.

The game center was the perfect place. We competed in different games, and Killian showed no mercy.

I won most of the games, and he'd sulk, but he was genuinely happy to be there with me.

We had ice cream, danced a little, and had our pictures taken in a photo booth.

"It's been years since I had this much fun," Killian says as he stares at one of the photos.

"Years? You really need to get out more," I advise as I look at the other photos. "Where's the one of both of us kissing?"

He hands over the photo I requested and continues looking at the one in his hand.

I take a peek at the one in his hand, and it's a photo of me pulling him in for a surprise kiss on the cheek. His surprised expression as I kissed him is priceless.

But there's something sweet about it that melts my heart.

"You know… the hospital is always gloomy because of death and all," he says as he gently rubs his thumb on the photo. "But I try my best to make it lively. My two most trusted doctors said the place is gloomy because I'm not so colorful physically myself. But I think I understand what they mean. It's a lot more colorful now."

He turns to look at me, a warm grin forming, and says, "Thank you for this memory, Madison."

I hold the back of his neck and get on my toes, pulling him in for a kiss.

I don't care who's watching us.

"What was that for?" he asks softly as I pull away.

"It's my way of saying thank you for keeping me safe and for a memorable date," I reply.

"In that case…" he says and kisses my lips gently. "This is my thank you too."

I grin at his response.

"Can I keep this?" he asks as he shows me the picture.

"Please, do," I reply. "You honestly didn't have to ask."

He smiles and tussles my hair, saying, "Let's go home."

I don't know what else the future has in store for us, but I know something new has been born.
