Chapter 9

Jessie

I know a little Ma and Pa Italian place that will knock Jack’s sock off. I know that he will fall in love with Marco and Gracie as soon as he enters their restaurant.

“Aaaaaaah Jess! I see you finally found you a man,” Mama Gracie greeted us as we came in the door. “Yes mama, this is Jack. He is the boss where I work,” I answered. “Oh Pasha! That is not the look of boss man that I see on that young man’s face,” Gracie said.

“Yeah well, he just had to send his wife away to Germany forever. So I am trying to cheer him up.” I answered my well meaning friend. “I-i-i-i-i-y-y-y! You take him home to jacuzzi and sooth that man’s sorrows,” Gracie suggested.

“Good idea Gracie. I think maybe we do dinner first,” I chuckled. “Of course. I bring you both my famous Lasagna and some sangria. That should be a good start to a new relationship,” Gracie stated.

“Relationship? What makes you think we are in a relationship? I gasped. “Oh please! I see how you both are mooning over each other. It’s as plain as the nose on your face,” Gracie chuckled.

“But he just sent his wife away today,” I gasped I disbelief. “Oh believe me, the way he has been looking at you says he has been crushing on you for years,” Gracie suggested. “Crushing…Huh?” I said just as Jack returned from the men’s room.

“Just this way sweeties,” Gracie announced as she grabbed two menus and led us to a private booth towards the very back of the restaurant. “Don’t forget. I am bringing you my special. You can pick out desert,” Gracie told us.

Within moments, Gracie had a large bottle of sangria at our table with two large style wine glasses. “You two love birds just sit back and let mama Gracie take care of you,” she purred.

“Love birds, Huh?” Jack chuckled as Gracie walked away. “Yeah, she swears that you have had a crush on me for years,” I told Jack with a sassy smile.

There was a long pause after that and I though that maybe I had spoken out of turn…so to speak. “You know, she is not wrong,” Jack finally answered softly. “She what?” I gasped in disbelief.

“I have always admired you way more than I ever let on,” Jack answered. “There have be a thousand times that I have wondered inside what might have happened if I’d met you before Krista,” Jack confided.

“Damn Jack. You never said anything,” I answered as I stared into his eyes. “I couldn’t say anything, Jessie. I couldn’t start something I couldn’t finish,” Jack said. That’s when I saw it. A deep warmth in his gaze that says he sees much more in me than just a co-worker.

I leaned forward and gasped his face in my palms and kissed him soundly. Then, He put a hand behind my head and damn near kissed my panties off. “See? I told you that you found a man,” Gracie purred as she delivered our meal and refilled our wine glasses.

I smiled broadly when I sat back after the two kisses and saw that Jack has a bulge in the crotch of his slacks. “Did I do thaaaaaaat?” I purred as I reached out to pet his bulge. “More times than you ever could imagine,” Jack answered with a broad smile of his own.

“You got boners for me before this?” I gasped.

“So many before this,” he crooned and wagged his eyebrows.

“Is this the start for us?” I asked softly.

“Actually, this started a long time ago. Now is just the time that we can finally do something about it,” Jack answered.

As he said it, I realized how true that was.

This was the most wonderful dinner I have ever had. Tonight feels like a prom date dinner on graduation night to me. Jack continues to look deeply into my eyes and confess how desperately he had wanted me over the eight years we have worked in offices next to each other.

Jack kissed me four times during our first dinner together. I know because I counted them and stored them away in my memory forever. Jack left his left hand perched on my right thigh while we drove home.
