2. Amina Sinclair #2
God knows I was a groupie for a nice, tailored blazer.
Give me nice trousers any day of the week.
I loved a nasty designer bag. The simple kind.
I was a Hermès and a Chanel kind of girl because those bags were so classy.
This morning though, I didn’t have any of those things going on.
In fact, the way that I was dressed right now, I felt like I didn’t really look like myself.
I was sporting a charcoal- gray oversized sweatsuit.
For shoes, I went with a classic black and white Addidas Sambas.
I loved this sneaker because it was comfortable, but stylish at the same time.
My Louis Vuitton Neverfull was resting on the dresser, and my suitcase, and duffle bag was parked, matching my purse.
“Gianna, I really hope that I don’t have to kill your brother on the road,” I turned around to look at Gianna, after I finished looking at myself in the mirror. She laughed and then took another sip of her coffee.
“Let me put you up on game with Gemini before you hit the road with him. If I can prepare you for anything when it comes to my brother, it’s that everything doesn’t deserve a response.
Gemini loves a good debate. It doesn’t matter if it’s a debate about music, politics, sports, just anything.
He will challenge whatever opinion that you have.
I really don’t think that he does it to be an asshole though.
Gemini is just super smart, and he likes to see how people think,” she said, and I groaned at that.
“Seriously, pick your battles when it comes to him. You will be arguing with that man for two months straight. Half the shit that he says, just say ‘okay’, and keep it moving,” she warned me.
That was going to be so hard for me. I liked to get the last word.
It was just something that I was used to.
“Beep. Beep. Beep”.
At exactly 6:58 A.M., the sound of a loud horn blowing outside caught me, and Gianna’s attention.
The horn on that truck was so loud that it literally shook the windows inside the room.
Since I was standing, and I was closest to the window, I walked over.
I pulled the curtain back, and I saw it.
It was black. I don’t know why I was expecting some old, white, beat up 18- wheeler- truck to be outside waiting for me to get into.
I knew nothing about trucks, but looking at Gemini’s, seeing how polished that black was, I could tell that it was something on the pricy side.
The truck was parked right in the middle of the road, damn near taking up all the space.
Attached behind it was an enclosed trailer, making me wonder what it was that he was transporting.
Just from the build of his truck alone, I could tell that whatever he was transporting, it had to be something of high value.
This was nothing like I expected. It looked like a modern home on wheels.
“Do all the eighteen- wheelers look like this in Miami?” I asked Gianna. My question caused her to laugh.
“Girl, hell no! Most trucks on the road don’t look anything like that. My brother is ridiculous,” she told me, and this time, that made me laugh.
“Seriously though, Gemini invested a lot of time, money, and thought into that truck. He basically customized it himself. When you think about it, he spends more time on that truck than he does his actual home, so it makes sense, you know?” when she put it like that, it did make sense, so I nodded, and pulled the curtain back.
The second I pulled the curtain back, you could hear loud knocks coming from the front door. I knew it was him.
“Let me open the door for him. Just do one final walk through, so you can make sure that you have everything,” Gianna said to me before walking out of the room.
I went over to my mug that I’d placed on the carpet.
I picked it up, slowly sipping it because it was still warm.
Gianna made the coffee smooth just like I liked it.
She made it using oat milk, with just a little bit of caramel.
It wasn’t too sweet, but at the same time, it wasn’t too bitter either.
It’s the only way that I’ve been drinking my coffee for years.
I stood, holding the mug to my lips, so that I could take another sip, and within a matter of seconds, I could hear movement outside of the bedroom door.
Gianna appeared. I thought that she would come to the bedroom on her own, and that the two of us would just wheel my bags out front, but Gemini came with her.
When I saw him standing there, I literally almost dropped this mug down on the carpet and spit out what was in my mouth.
Look, there was no doubt that Gemini was a fine ass man.
He’s literally always been fine. I remember coming over to their house when I was a kid, and even back then, I’ve always thought that he was attractive, but I just never spoke on it.
I figured it might be weird to tell my best friend that I thought her big brother was handsome.
Not only that, but Gemini has always been one of those kids that thought because he was four years older than us, that it made him grown.
I never had the balls to tell him that I thought he was cute because he might have said something humbling to me in return, letting me know that he only looked at me as a little sister or something like that.
Growing up, and spending time at their house when I was a kid, Gemini and I didn’t have much of a relationship.
He was mean as hell. He barely even said hi to me, which is why I never understood why he thought that the one time he showed me some attention, it would be to stick a fuckin lizard down my shirt.
I was a Scorpio. I would literally beef with a person until the end of time.
If someone goes out of their way to embarrass me, betray me, or just simply cross a line with me, I’ll remember it years from now, and probably wouldn’t forgive you for it.
Here I was, 31 years old now, still holding a grudge against Gemini for something that he did to me when I was just 13.
Gemini walked in the room, and all I could do was stare at him because he was a damn giant.
Gianna stood next to him, and because Gianna was so small, Gemini looked to be at least three of her combined.
He wasn’t big in a fat kind of way though.
No. That’s not what I’m getting at. He was big as in tall.
Big as in broad. Because I was 5’9”, I’ve never considered myself to be a short girl, but even at my height, Gemini could make me come across as short compared to him because he had to be every bit of 6’5”.
Then, he had the nerve to come in here with a white t- shirt, that stretched across his chest, showing all the muscle there.
The muscles in his arms were crazy. He probably spent just as much time in the gym as he did on those trucks.
Both arms were wrapped in full tattoo sleeves.
Gemini’s skin complexion was beautiful. It matched mine, and Gianna’s.
It was that smooth, dark chocolate. Seeing him two days ago, I knew that he had perfect waves in his hair, but this morning, he had his waves covered.
There was a black durag that sat on top of his head.
I really hated that I kept naming everything about him, but everything was just that perfect, that I had to point it out.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen another man with the perfect jawline that he had.
His jaw was strong. His lips were full. His beard was so thick and trimmed to perfection.
His eyes went over to my suitcases, and my duffle bag, which caused him to smirk.
When he smirked, his dimples quickly appeared in his cheeks.
Not only that, but the gold in his mouth flashed too.
He didn’t have full gold teeth. Hell no, if he did, when I pointed it out, I would have probably said it from a place of disgust. Gemini had subtle fangs, that outlined just his top fangs.
I should have hated that. I should’ve thought it was ridiculous, but why did I feel the complete opposite? Why did I actually like that on him?
I hated when I looked down at him. I hated that my eyes did their own thing, and they looked down at the gray joggers that he was wearing.
Dick is all that I saw. I’m sure it was one of those things where he couldn’t help it, and that his print was going to show regardless of the bottoms that he wore, but this was crazy.
It looked as if he placed some kind of long, thick tool inside his sweatpants.
Then, his feet. His feet were in white socks, with black Ferragamo slides.
His feet were huge, so that explained the bulge in his pants.
“What’s all that over there?” was the first thing he asked me, picking up his finger, so that he could point to my suitcases, and duffle bag that was in the corner of the room.
“My luggage, along with my duffle bag,” my tone was sarcastic, as if I was making him out to be slow that he didn’t know what the items were in the corner of the room.
“My eyes work, love. I can see that. I guess I’m just confused. You do understand that we’re getting on the road so that I can work, correct?” he asked me.
“I’m aware. I was in the kitchen with you when the conversation took place two days ago,” I responded.
“I’m aware that you were there for the conversation as well.
My thing is, did you properly comprehend it though?
You got Louis Vuitton luggage packed up, making it look like you’re getting ready to check into an all- inclusive resort in Jamaica or something,” he shot, and all I could do was roll my eyes at that.
