“We did all of that, and you never really told me how you met lame ass Jacob,” he said after about two minutes of silence.

It wasn’t until he said that that I realized I hadn’t told Gemini how I’d met Jacob. The conversation ended up taking a turn, going in a completely different direction.

“We met through work. He’s a client for the firm that I work for.

He has his own company. He’s a real estate developer.

Kind of one of those things where it was a family business that was passed down to him.

His family owns luxury apartment buildings in London.

He came in for business, and I worked with him.

I found him attractive, but for me, it was just business.

I knew not to mix business with pleasure.

Seeing him more, he started to dish out compliments here and there.

He was very charming. Had a way with his words.

Found a way to get me to go on a date with him.

The date started at 9:00 P.M. and I didn’t make it home until six the next morning.

Nothing sexual happened. Just a lot of talking, and getting to know each other,” I took a pause, thinking about what I wanted to say next.

I wanted to be careful with my words. I didn’t want to dig too deep, and it sounded like I missed what we shared. I didn’t want to sound like I was craving someone that ultimately didn’t want me anymore.

“Pretty much the rest is history. I fell in love with him. Hell, I thought that he fell in love with me too, but that was obviously not the case,” I ended it there.

“You think that when you left, he took a moment to be with himself, or he’s with the other woman?” Gemini wanted to know.

“Oh, he’s very much with the other woman.

The day I found out, she was blowing up his phone.

To some, that little action was simple, but to me, it spoke volumes.

She called his phone back-to-back as if she was his woman, trying to get down to the bottom of why her man wasn’t answering the phone for her.

When he told me that he had doubts, he said it in a way like it was final.

As if his mind was already made up, and it was her that he wanted to be with.

I’m sure he’s with her. Probably moved her into the house and everything,” I went on to say.

“Where all your shit at? Did you pack your shit up or you left it there?” he wanted to know.

“My mom helped me pack as much of my stuff that I could, and we took it over to her house. Whatever I left, I’ll just take my loss.

I never really looked through the things that I took.

I wanted out of London. The only thing that I cared about was leaving.

I chose Miami because before London, that was home for me.

I thought that I would feel a little better, being in my old stomping grounds, but it really didn’t help.

Like I told you earlier, I don’t really have a plan.

I’m just winging it. Going with the flow,” I was honest. Gemini respected it, and he dropped it.

We didn’t talk about it anymore after that.

By this point, the sun was setting and it looked so beautiful out here.

Gemini finished with the rice, all the protein, and now he was finishing with the onions, and zucchini.

That didn’t take long. It was finished in under ten minutes.

Talk about the roles being reversed. I’m so used to being the one to cook dinner, and plating it for Jacob and I.

Not only did Gemini cook, but he grabbed two plates, so that he could fix both of our plates.

He handed my plate to me, and I thanked him for it.

I used the nearby hand sanitizer, so that I could clean my hands. Gemini pulled one of the chairs over, and he sat it a few feet away from me. He cleaned his hands, just like I did, and sat in the chair. I watched him as he prayed over his food, and I did the same.

The food was fresh off the Blackstone, so when I brought the fork that was filled with rice to my mouth, I had to blow over it a little bit. Putting the rice in my mouth, I chewed it, thinking to myself that this was the best fried rice I’ve ever tasted in my life.

“Wow. Gemini, this is good,” I complimented the food.

“I appreciate that. Try the steak. Let me know how you like the temperature,” he said.

I could tell that the steak was cooked medium well.

I didn’t mind that because that was how I liked my steak.

I bit into it, and it was perfect. Juicy, and flavorful.

Everything was good. The shrimp, the chicken.

The vegetables were to die for. If trucking didn’t work out for Gemini, he could work for his sister because he was a damn good cook, just like Gianna.

Gemini and I finished the entire bottle of wine.

Once we were finished with our food, I stood up, so that I could help him clean up.

The sun had completely gone down, but there were lights coming from the truck stop building, reflecting over here.

Not only that, but there were tall parking light poles, so we didn’t have to be in complete darkness.

Gemini had long gone removed his apron, and now he was standing there with a heavy-duty trash bag in his hands, and together, we cleaned up the mess and threw away the trash.

Gemini scraped the Blackstone clean before he folded it up and placed it back in the storage compartment on the truck.

He took apart the folding table, placing it back on the truck too.

I folded the chairs, and he stowed them away.

It didn’t take us long to get the area cleaned up.

I was able to pack the food in the containers, storing them in the refrigerator back on the truck.

It was plenty left for us to have for the next day or two.

I had been in my own little world, too focused on finding the perfect space in the refrigerator to store the food, that I didn’t notice when Gemini stepped back onto the truck. He was standing in the sleeper area with me.

Just standing there in a white tee, and the shorts that he worked out in.

Even with the hard work out that he’d done, the cooking that he did, this man still didn’t have a musty smell to him.

I still smelled his natural scent, mixed with his cologne that was still lingering on him.

I’m not quite sure what the hell was going on with me, but looking up at his tall, broad frame, blocking my view from what was behind him, I felt butterflies in my stomach.

I’ve literally only ever gotten butterflies for a man whenever I liked them.

I didn’t like him, right? This was only my third day on the truck with him.

I couldn’t possibly like him, right? I’m in a healing stage.

I’m supposed to be getting my mind right, using this ride as therapy, and forgetting about the hurt, and the pain that Jacob caused me.

If that’s the case, then why was I looking at him like this? Why was he looking back at me like this in return?

We took steps closer to each other. He inched closer to me, and I did the same. We didn’t go in right away. It’s almost like we thought about everything that could possibly go wrong if our lips touched. Even with that, he still lowered his head, and I still lifted my chin, and our lips touched.

I loved to kiss. I loved to be affectionate, so it was naturally in me to just disappear into my own world when kissing, especially if the kiss was good.

God, it was good. Gemini knew what the hell he was doing. He was nastily feeding me his tongue. I was nastily sucking on his tongue. His left hand wrapped around my throat, just adding a little pressure. You could hear the noise that our lips were making as we tongue kissed with each other.

As I kissed him, I felt that all too familiar feeling of my juices seeping out of me, and that’s when I pulled back.

I had to. I knew me. I knew how sexual I could get.

If I went any further, I was going to be down on this bottom bunk with my face down, and my ass up.

If not that, then however he told me he wanted me.

I didn’t want to explore that with him right now.

I felt like it wouldn’t end well for either of us.

I stepped back, and out of nervousness, I chuckled, while scratching my head.

“Well….”

My voice traveled off, not knowing what else to say.

“Come on. Get your stuff, so that we can take our showers,” Gemini said, leading what just happened into a completely different direction.

I was glad he did that. I was glad we didn’t have to address the elephant in the room. We didn’t have to sit here stuck and find out what we should say next. We just chose to forget that it ever happened.

It happened though. God, it happened and that was the best kiss that I’ve ever had in my life.

I know that I was going to think about it tomorrow.

Probably even the days to come after as well.

What the hell was going to happen between us now?

The kiss changed everything. It was going to change the entire dynamic of how we chose to move forward.

Whatever it did, I just prayed that it didn’t make things awkward between us.
