Bonus Epilogue

Flynn

Chest tight, I squeeze my fingers around the cluster of keys in my hand and grin at Lachlan on my right. “We did it.”

My friend and partner chuckles, tugging Del, his very pregnant wife, to his side. “Only took us two and a half years, but we did it.”

Clapping a hand on my shoulder, he turns his attention to the majestic lodge in front of us. It’s nestled high in the Snowy Mountains amongst snow gums and alpine ash, a building with deep history, that’s about to change my life.

I let my own gaze run over it.

It’s been two and a half years since we bought it. Two and a half years of hard work to turn it into the second McKenzie/O’Reilly Retreat location.

I’ve done a lot of dark, dangerous shit in my life, stuff that will haunt me for a long time, but this? This is the beginning of a new life.

An uncomplicated one.

I can’t wait.

Bring it on.
