Chapter 26

Falcon

I wasn’t planning on having that conversation until later, but she was spiraling. The last thing I wanted was for her to be frustrated. Especially with me. I was only trying to give her space and time to get to know me and feel some level of comfort in her new situation. I didn’t want to be the cause of her pain. Even though I felt bad for pushing her to that point, I was glad it was all out in the open now. A renewed calm washed over me knowing that now she knew she was mine, and that I could really have her later.

Taking care of her on the side of the road wasn’t planned, but she was pretty calm after that. I probably could have had a quickie then and there, but I planned to take my time the first time. I’d thought about this woman since I first saw her in the hall of that shitty ass club she was working at. I’d thought of so many ways to have her. I could wait just a while longer.

Now she was with me, where she should be. And with the party, the timing was great. I’d already laid my claim to my brothers, but there would be others at the clubhouse later to celebrate Raven. I would make sure everyone knew she was taken. Most of us had an understanding about our claimed women, even if they didn’t have a patch. But that would happen soon enough.

I knew she was mine just as much as when I knew I was ready to pledge my allegiance to my club. But there was a lot going on and this was all new to her, so I’d let it settle before talking to Hawk.

We got the kegs from the liquor store and headed back to the clubhouse. When we pulled up, the smokers were already going and some of the bunnies were helping bring chairs outside while some of the members moved folding tables out of the garage.

Daisy was sitting bitch, tucked up next to me after our roadside pit stop. I used to kick myself for getting bench seats, but now I was glad I had. I was perfectly fine waiting on her for as long as she needed, but it felt great to hold her close and know that she wanted me as much as I wanted her.

I backed the truck up as close to the door as I could. Rooster and Red ran out with hand trucks and Butch and Eagle helped get the kegs out of the back. Once they unloaded, I pulled the cage out of the way of the festivities and climbed out, then held my hand out to help Daisy get out on my side. When she hopped out, I tugged at the hem of her jeans and slid my other hand up her chest, lightly grasping the soft skin of her neck.

She turned her face up and licked her lips as she leaned into the hold. I moved closer and took her mouth in a deep kiss, hoping everyone was watching. The whistles coming across the yard let me know we had a decent audience. She giggled but just kissed me back harder. She had me chuckling when she grabbed my shoulders and pulled herself up, wrapping her legs around me. The hoots, hollers, and claps only made having her wrapped around me more fun.

“Woman, you’re gonna kill me,” I said as I squeezed her ass.

“You told me I could have whatever I want.”

Holding her close, I started walking toward the clubhouse. “That I did. But before you go making demands, we have to entertain for a while.”

Her bottom lip poked out a little, but she ran her fingers through my hair and tugged before she gave me a quick peck and let her legs fall. I gave a quick smack on her tight ass and she smiled back at me. “I’m gonna find Mama Hen and see what I can do to help.”

My chest puffed out and I gave her a nod. She was already getting used to the life. Used to being part of this. I headed over to the garage to see if there was anything I needed to do.

“We got this, but thanks for the show,” Jackal shouted from one of the grills.

I walked over and shook his hand. “Hey, fucker. You came early.”

“I like to eat. Plus, I wanted to check in on Cindy.” He never called her Mama Hen because he was just as old as her and he wasn’t part of the chapter. A lot of the older members knew her as Cindy, and she answered to it.

“That’s cool. So, any word?” I asked as I stepped closer. Daisy came walking over with two solo cups and handed us both one. I pulled her close after I took the cup. “Jackal, this is my lady, Daisy.”

He took a big swig. “Thanks for the beer, sweets. You this fucker’s old lady?”

She looked up at me, so I answered, “Just lady for now. But she’s mine.”

He held up his cup, so I tapped it with mine. “You young fuckers always dicking around. Don’t worry, sweets. He’ll patch ya soon enough. I know this kid.”

She patted my chest. “Well, I’ll leave you boys to it. I’ll be in the kitchen.”

“Seriously, kid. Don’t fuck around too long. She’s a keeper.”

“Is that so?” I asked. She was, but I was interested to see how he thought he knew.

“Saw her the other night. Didn’t take shit off the crazies, could drink with the boys, seems to be falling in line with the life, and she’s one fine looking lady.”

“Sure is. And she’s mine.”

“Down boy. We know,” Eagle said as he walked over.

“Looks like you got yourself a nice little pocket warmer, too, Eagle,” Jackal said as he turned a rack of ribs.

He ran his hand over his chest with a wide grin. “She’s real nice. Real nice indeed.”

A few members were wandering around and there were bikes coming up the driveway, so I didn’t prod about intel again. We’d be able to talk later.

After a couple of hours, it was turning to twilight outside and Hawk escorted Penny and Mama Hen outside near the picnic tables. I pulled Daisy closer as we stood to listen.

“Attention everyone!” Hawk yelled over the chatter. “We want to thank all of you for being here to celebrate Raven’s life. Our pops. Her old man,” he said as he wrapped his arm around Mama Hen and the other around Penny. “He didn’t form this chapter, but he built it to what it is today, and I will do everything in my power to continue his legacy.

“He’d want this. A party. Lots of food, lots of booze, and lots of fucking around!” Everyone cheered and clapped. I didn’t move my arm from around Daisy, but I yelled and Daisy clapped her hands as Hawk shouted over us, “So, grab a rib, grab a cup, and grab a bunny!”

Several men grabbed ladies standing near them and the bunnies squealed. They loved this part. I leaned down to tell Daisy, “Nobody has to force anything here.” I started to straighten back up but then leaned down once more. “But if anyone looks at you sideways, I’ll break their fucking eye socket.”

She looked up with a wry grin. “And do I get to break shit if someone looks at you sideways?”

“If that makes you happy, but I don’t think any of the bunnies would fuck with you. ”

“Well. I know of one,” she deadpanned.

I pulled her closer so I could look into her big blue eyes. “She’s a nuisance, not a threat, darlin’.” Her brows raised and I knew that wasn’t the right thing to say. “She won’t fuck with you.”

“But she may fuck with you .”

“Well, if she does, beat her ass. Whatever makes you happy.”

“I know something that would make me really happy.”

Her hands roamed my chest, then down my abs. I was about to scoop her up and go to my room, but Hawk got my attention. “Fuck. Hold that thought.”

She sighed but nodded. “I’ll go find Lacy. Don’t make me wait too long.”

I watched as she walked off and found her friend. They joined some bunnies at one of the picnic tables as I headed inside. I needed to have a chat with her. She had to understand I didn’t want to leave her, but club business couldn’t wait. Later, we’d talk. It would be a test of my willpower to see if we talked before or after.
