They think they're slick when they’re really not.
Driving around in tinted-out black SUVs and traveling together like the President of the United States through a street filled with abandoned buildings is bound to gain the attention of anyone looking or slightly giving half a shit.
I only saw them when I was about to break through another threshold of trees, another night run with no dope this time, only getting down a new route that would safely take me through The Landings without getting caught.
It’s been a pain in the ass, though.
On a dirt bike, I can only carry so much and, lately, the assignments that Levi has been handing out have been shit. He’s scared of another close run with anyone associated with our enemy and that’s why I’ve been getting the baby stuff.
But when I saw the two vehicles traveling down Sandbar Street—call me intrigued.
The moment the two SUVs turn the corner, I take the alleys, treading in between metal garbage bins and the dark shadows of the buildings.
The moon is fully lit tonight, helping to guide me through as I keep glancing through the spaces of the structures to make sure they haven’t turned off.
When they make a left on Marina Parkway, I know exactly where they’re going—Peer Pressured Pier.
We arrive five minutes later at the massive cliff overlooking the ocean. Kick-standing my bike, I hunch down and get closer to the edge of the trees, bringing my phone to the ground so I can adjust the brightness of the screen behind the foliage so it’s not a dead giveaway that I’m present.
Cairo comes out of the SUV first from the driver’s seat. His tall and lean built, giving him away even though he’s all in black. His hair, I’m sure his dead eyes and the authority he ejects is a dead giveaway that it’s him.
The rest of the doors open right after, exhibiting Torin and a guy with his hands tied or cuffed sliding out from the backseat of the first car that I don’t recognize.
Reeve appears next in the second with a girl clinging to his side, giggling obnoxiously with an arm wrapped around his waist. Her long blonde hair sways from side to side against the moonlight as they join the others.
I’m instantly pissed.
All this talk about getting married and how I’m pretty much all he sees is a bunch of bullshit like I suspected. He just wants to mark me in his diary about how he fucked me and moved on.
I barely notice the two additional men dressed in black who accompany them a distance back, patiently waiting aside for the three leaders of the Forsaken Crew to give orders, if any.
Torin steps in front of the man who’s restrained, and since I’m yards away, I can’t hear a thing. All I can do is videotape any unlawful wrongdoings and hope it holds up somewhere if I ever decide to use it.
Cairo drapes his arm around the bound man’s shoulders and walks him closer to the edge of the cliff while the rest follow.
The woman at Reeve’s side rises on her tiptoes, demanding his attention when her lips press needily into his.
The surfer boy with the easy smile and pretty hazel eyes that surface from my memory cups the back of her head and gives back what she’s giving him.
I actually see her cup his dick through his fitted jeans and their mini-makeout session amps up within seconds. I can only imagine their teeth crashing together and her girly moans filling his mouth.
If the circumstances were different, I’d throw her over the ledge. However, I’ve been reminding myself about Reeve specifically and not to fall within his brand of fuckboy shit.
Clenching my fingers tighter around my cell, I notice Torin raise his arm, and at the end of it is the outline of a handgun pointed at his obvious victim.
He’s not.
In front of a girl who’s not part of their crew?
I mean, would they risk something like that? Maybe she’s loyal as fuck to them and they don’t have any worries with her ratting them out. Who the fuck am I?
A gunshot rings through the air, causing me to jolt and their target to stumble back a bit, but not go over the edge.
And that’s when Cairo finishes it off, putting four more shots into the man’s chest before he careens backward and disappears over the overhang.
A violent shiver racks my body because I fuck with these guys.
I run my mouth, I don’t follow their orders, nor do I take their threats either. I push their boundaries and look them in the eyes when they pass on another warning that I need to watch that divided line or suffer the consequences.
I have.
I’ve gotten Levi out of fuck knows with what they were going to do with him, but I took one of theirs, too. I’m not afraid to be petty and give an eye for an eye but am I too fucking crazy to continue down this path before I can’t change or fix it.
Torin and Cairo turn to find their friend finally breaking off his kiss with the blonde. Reeve’s hand comes around to run his fingers down her face before Torin suddenly hauls her back by her bicep and rips her from Reeve’s safety net.
She stumbles a bit, but catches her footing before she yells Reeve’s name as if suddenly her life is in jeopardy of ending now.
He pivots without a second glance in her direction, disappearing behind the closest SUV while her eyes still follow him.
“I didn’t do it!” she screams, yanking on Torin’s hold to get free. “Reeve, babe, please!”
Cairo is next to rain down his intimidating demeanor as he gets in front of her to speak. And, unfortunately, their voices are still low enough that I can’t catch anything again, but really, I don’t need to.
They believe she’s done something to them and there’s no hope for her now. I think that once they get an idea in their brains, it’s game over. You better start saying your prayers and pray to any form of God that will listen.
The woman slaps Torin across the face, missing Cairo’s in the process as he drags her to where the other man just fell.
I give her credit for sticking up for herself in a grim circumstance, dragging her feet along the gravel, dirt road as Torin continues to bring her closer.
The human in me hollers that I need to save her. I’m not sure what she did, how bad it was, or if she even deserves this punishment but am I really going to sit here behind the safety of bushes and the tree to my left and watch her get tossed to the sea like a piece of trash?
Ice runs through my veins as I quickly evaluate the situation.
I have no weapon besides the knife in my back pocket and my dirt bike. If I get close enough, I’m dead.
If I holler out at them through the safety of my spot, I’m dead. They can easily pepper bullets at me, and I’d rather not dodge them.
I’m already out of options.
None of them end up with me without a hole somewhere in my body and blood everywhere.
And, call me a shitty person, but I’m not looking to put my life on the line for someone else, when I already have bodies that rely on me to keep them fed, clothed, and unharmed.
Torin releases the woman, placing her spine against the peril of the ocean being so high up behind her.
My heart practically stops when he takes a step closer before my hair is suddenly tugged on from behind, and I’m forced to rise to my feet. A large hand shrouds my mouth to keep my surprised yelp in my throat from being liberated as I’m swung around and pinned to the trunk of the tree at my six.
“Bay Bay McQueen,” Reeve coos softly and quietly, the death notes in his tone evident that with one peep from him to his butt buddies and I’m a goner. “What’s a pretty girl like you doing out on a night like this?”
With his palm covering my mouth, I still open it to speak, but he shakes his head, prompting me to stop and not make a sound.
“Don’t answer that,” he says to my forced silence, pressing his chest solidly into mine and driving the scent of the sea salt into my nose. “With no evidence on the answer, I can’t charge you, nor can I turn you in. Unless…” A glint of the moon makes his nose ring blink in my eyes before his hazel eyes bore down on me. “You came to see me.”
My brows knit and he smiles, thrusting my spine deeper into the sharp and jagged surface of the tree. My pulse sprints at the unknown of what he’s going to do and how I’m going to get myself out of this mess.
“I’m going to kiss you,” he tells me like he’s offering out the weather. “And when I remove my hand, you’re not going to scream. You’re not going to make a single sound. That’s my payment for not snitching on you. Because if you do, I can’t save you. Once Cairo or Torin gets their hands on you, you’re fucking dead, baby. You understand me?”
I bob my head because what choice do I have?
“You saw me kissin’ that girl?” I nod once, and he glowers at me as if I made him do it. “She’s a rancid bitch and the only woman who dies tonight under my guys if I can help it. You kiss me back, you live, got it?”
This time, he slowly removes his hand, testing to see if I’m going to be stupid and blow the whistle on myself or listen to what he says.
I follow the latter, of course, which makes Reeve extremely happy because his smile is radiant like he just won the lottery.
That hand that just trapped my lips to remain silent burns at my hip and underneath the waistband of my leggings.
“Reeve—”
“How quick can you come?”
The pads of his fingers graze the skin of my inner thigh right next to my panties before his lips crash mindlessly into mine.
His tongue seeks immediate entrance, and he has me in a chokehold. Giving me an ultimatum about not denying him because he’s got something hovering over my head.
Until he’s not.
“Tell me no,” he mutters against my lips. “And mean it. No matter your answer, I’m still getting my kiss.”
“Stop,” I reply weakly when he peppers soft brushes of his mouth to my jawline before trailing up to my ear. But he doesn’t listen, brushing his index finger between my shamelessly wet folds and reaching my incapable clit that doesn’t know an enemy when it sees one.
“I said tell me no,” he counters in my ear, his voice dark and deep but still holding that mellowed persona that matches him so well.
His lips encase around my earlobe twice before dropping straight down to the column of my neck. That wicked tongue of his teasing at the sensitive skin there, followed up by his evil lips made of corruption and debauchery.
The end of his thumb circles my inconsiderate nub, sending a frenzied rush of lust coursing through my brain and right down to where he’s touching me.
“You’re bad as hell to have followed us, McQueen,” he chides along my skin. “I saw you the moment you hunched your pretty ass down here and pulled out your phone.”
Shit.
“Just you?” I press, the moment he licks up and bites down on my throat, covering my mouth and the surprised gasp that he knew he’d cause.
Because this motherfucker.
Reeve knows how to work a woman’s body. He’s aware of the sounds that we make, the pressure points, and the soft caresses from skin-on-skin contact.
“Shhh…” he hisses gently along the spot he just viciously semi-attacked me. “You’re gonna get us caught.”
He shoves a finger inside my soaking pussy and my knees begin to give. With Reeve’s added weight, he holds me up and still keeps a possessive hand over my mouth so he can work me however he wants.
“Did you miss me?” I shake my head, but he’s still undeterred by that old news. “I’ve missed you, McQueen.”
His teeth graze the sensitive area of skin at my throat, coaxing another moan to leave my throat. For my brain to shut down the fact that he’s part of a crew I shouldn’t be following around.
“No one tells me what to do,” he says. “When it comes to you.”
His declaration does things to me that it shouldn’t.
Reeve isn’t afraid to fight for what he wants and believes in. And I can respect the hell out of that.
However, I don’t want him caught up in chaos with his boys. I know that’s his family and I’m also privy to how important that is.
I tap Reeve’s hand to allow me to speak, and he removes it, cupping the back of my head to replace his touch.
“You’re insane,” I mutter. “I’m no good for you.”
“I’ll decide how good you are when you let me in.”
“I did,” I whisper. “That night you came to South Shore.” He brings his head back around, mouth hovering wickedly over mine. “I…”
“You, what?”
I swallow and shove back thoughts of how he’s going to use this against me but say, “I permitted you to be close to what means something to me.”
Reeve nods, his forehead brushing mine. “I know, baby. I appreciate that. But, real talk…you gotta stop bringing this ass around here.” He adds a second finger, drilling in his point I guess, and still mercilessly strokes at my aching clit. “I’m not gonna be around to always save you.”
Then why are you now?
I’d ask, but I can’t.
I’m not able to form a single sentence with the way my mind only wants to solely focus on the muscles sandwiching me to this tree, the smell of the sea, and Reeve’s lips and fingers on me.
“God, you’re tight as fuck.” Reeve’s quick comment is more like a guttural growl as pumps into me faster. “What I wouldn’t give to fuck you right now and have the time for us both to enjoy it.” He nustles his nose against my jaw. “But I want you to want it. Not because I cornered you.”
He needs to stop being so goddamn sweet to me.
I can’t fall for this guy.
I can’t.
Levi will lose his entire shit. The whole thing. It’ll implode into a million pieces, right in front of me and God knows what kinds of havoc he will rain on Reeve in the process.
And I want nothing to happen to him.
Something about Reeve is so different than the rest of them besides his sandy blonde hair, clear-cut hazels, and effortless smile.
He’s genuine.
Maybe a little wild with a fuck the outcome mindset whether it bites him in the ass or not.
Kinda like me.
Reeve pulls from the vulnerable spot of my throat again and straightens, peering down at me with an expression I can only describe as heated, famished, and downright primal.
He replaces my focus with his mouth again, opening mine wider to receive his long tongue and battle out a couple of rounds with him.
His moans against my mouth are almost unbearable to where I’m so tempted to ask him to come home with me. The sound is barely audible as he continues his heathenish assault on my cunt.
The hard outline of his dick presses into my upper thigh and he begins rubbing himself on me while sucking the soul out of me like it’s going out of style.
Reevie. Reevie.
What are you doing to me? To us?
I can’t help the whimpers that escape and mingle with his and I’m almost scared shitless when his name is hollered angrily out from behind our little corner of pure lust.
Reeve growls, irritated when he pries his lips from mine, but he doesn’t lose the space. “Got twenty seconds, baby. Give it to me.”
The only kind of pressure I perform under is racing. Not how quickly I can have a damn orgasm.
“Go,” I urge him as I chase his lips. “They’re gonna come looking?—”
“ You’re going to come,” he retorts undoubtedly at his skills when he connects with my mouth. “And I’m going to lick you off and smell you for the rest of the night on me.”
Dude…fuck.
“I’m going to wrap this hand that’s now inside your pretty pussy right now and stroke my cock tonight with it while thinking about how you taste. And when I get to fuck you right into the ground.” His movements quicken and I can feel myself drench his digits as he envelops me with everything him .
I drop my phone that I don’t remember holding this whole time and grip his biceps, silently urging him on.
“Will you think of me, McQueen?” His forehead grazes mine as our breaths mix together. “I’m going to come so fucking hard with you in my head that I might break the damn thing. Thinking of this silky cunt wrapped around my thick cock is going to send me spiraling—” I erupt around him within a millisecond while Reeve swallows every sound I make, not allowing anything else to have them but him.
“ Reeve ! Where the fuck are you?” It’s Torin, his impatience spouting through the air like an angry lion looking for his cub and warning anyone around it that he’ll rip its throat out if it harms their beloved child.
“Gotta go, baby,” Reeve whispers. “Keep your head down and give us five before you leave.” I expect him to round me and the tree to immediately join his friends, but his index finger pops inside his mouth, and he slowly drags it between his lips, tasting me for the very first time before my eyes. “Fuck…we’d be fire together, McQueen.”
Then he strides away, abandoning me with shaky legs and staggered breaths.
Reeve Stanton just rocked my world.
And he rocked it good.
And so did Torin and Cairo to the unknown girl from earlier. Because when I glance around the bark of the tree that’s currently upholding me into a standing position, she’s gone.
