Endurance is the first of The Guild’s trials to prepare Colby Southerland for the responsibility of being a werewolf. Because his werewolf transformations are linked to his emotions, both physical and emotional discomfort pose a risk to him. He must prove that he can withstand and overcome prolonged pain. During this trial, Colby must swim across a frozen lake underneath the ice before the top layer freezes.

Mod Note: Episode writer Josephine Schwarber revealed in a recent interview that Devin Ashwood sustained multiple rounds of frostbite on his toes as well as pneumonia while filming these scenes on location in Canada.
