Chapter Nineteen #2

When Caleb didn’t move to touch her, she cupped her breasts. Brought one rosy tip to his lips.

Warm, moist heat surrounded her sensitive flesh.

He suckled her, gently at first, then with powerful draws that hallowed out his cheeks.

Her hips jerked, attached by an invisible cord to his mouth. Her head fell back with a moan.

“So beautiful,” Caleb muttered against her skin.

He transferred his attention to her other breast.

“ Caleb. ”

“Give me permission to touch you, sweetheart. I need to hear you say it.”

“Touch me. Oh, God, please touch me. ”

If he didn’t, she was going to go up in flames.

His arms caged her hips. His abs flexed against her inner thighs as he stood in one strong, fluid movement, taking her with him.

“Bedroom,” he rasped.

She was too busy clinging to him to answer, inhaling his scent like it was a drug and she needed the high.

She licked the skin behind his ear.

He shuddered, slamming his shoulder into the bedroom doorframe.

Caleb reached out one long arm to rip away the duvet and top sheet.

Gia’s back met the mattress, his body covering her.

He took her mouth, his tongue spearing between her lips to claim her. His calloused hands memorized every inch of her skin.

Shifting to his side, he tugged her panties down her legs, leaving her completely bare—in more ways than one.

Possessive. Dominant. So incredibly sexy.

“I want to taste you.”

His gaze moved to the juncture between her thighs, but he made no move.

After a moment, Gia’s brows furrowed. “Are you waiting for permission?”

“Yes.” His eyes met hers, open and direct.

She parted her thighs.

“Don’t touch me like I’m fragile, easily broken. I want to be touched like—”

Like I’m loved.

Only she couldn’t say that. “—like a normal woman.”

His face tightened. “You are a normal woman.”

He moved between her spread legs. Lowered his head .

“I take that back.” His voice was low, rumbly, and so hot. “You outclass any woman I’ve ever met.”

He dragged his tongue through her folds to curl around her clit.

“ Caleb .”

His name slipped out on a gasp before she could stop it—raw, breathless, stunned by the rush of pleasure.

“You taste like you smell—sweet desert syrup.”

He licked and sucked, driving her mad with the sweetest kind of torture, until she was a mindless creature beneath him, responding only to stimuli.

A finger thrust inside her. Then another.

She dug her heels into the mattress for leverage and rode them hard.

“Come for me, baby.” A command wrapped in a velvet whisper.

He kept pumping his hand. Rubbing her clit. Harder, faster.

Gia’s body snapped like a rubber band.

Pulsating waves of pleasure crashed over her—a second orgasm, drowning her in bliss.

And freedom.

Yet she still ached with a need only he could fill. Her hands shot out to tangle in his short hair.

“I need you inside me.”

Caleb stood. Shucked his briefs.

She sat up, her fingers itching to touch the part of him jutting arrogantly toward her.

He cursed under his breath, scanned the room. “Duffle bag.”

Before she formed a response, he’d located it and returned with a foil wrapper in his grip.

“Let me.” She held out her hand.

He dropped the packet into her palm.

She tore it open and sheathed him, taking her time .

His legs quivered. His chest heaved. “Tease.”

Her hand froze until her brain processed his tone.

Not accusatory. Tight with lust, yes, but affectionate.

Another piece of Caleb found its way into her soul.

The second she’d finished, he pushed her against the mattress and positioned himself at her entrance.

Finally.

His lips caressed the shell of her ear, his warm breath causing goosebumps to pebble her flesh.

“Give me permission, Gia.”

“If you don’t get inside me right now, I swear, I’ll—”

Caleb entered her in one savage thrust, sending the headboard into the wall and stealing the breath from her lungs.

“You feel so good.” Braced on his forearms above her, his voice was strained. His face a mask of concentration.

Her body loosened, drew him in deeper.

Someone moaned. Him? Her? Both of them?

He pulled back partway, and the slow drag over her inner walls sent a ripple of pleasure through her. Another thrust. Retreat.

“Look at me, Gia. See who is pleasuring you.”

“I see you.”

How could she not? His eyes held her in his thrall, mirroring her pleasure. His arms sheltered her. His body claimed her.

She didn’t feel used. She felt cherished.

The realization sent her flying into a third, impossible orgasm.

Caleb’s hips churned, driving himself into her faster, deeper, without restraint. Then he stilled, coming with a hoarse shout before collapsing .

She held him to her, reveling in his weight, the damp heat of his chest, the way his heart thundered against her breasts, his gasps buffeting her ear.

The ceiling above her blurred as tears found their way to her eyes.

Just her luck. She’d finally found the right man at the wrong time.

Tell him.

About her phone call. Her secret. Everything.

“Stop thinking.”

She jerked her gaze from the ceiling to meet his fierce, determined one.

“Just let yourself feel. You and me. Together. No one will take this away from us.”

He scowled. “No one.”

If only it were that easy.

She kissed him. Let her lips linger to warm his cool ones.

“Maybe if we keep our heads low and stay out of sight, Vincente will get bored and leave us both alone,” she whispered.

It was a lie. She realized that now. He’d never let her go.

Not after what she’d witnessed.

Worse, to him, she was his possession.

If he couldn’t have her, no one could.

And if Caleb stayed with her, he was still in danger.

One week .

Caleb nipped her ear.

“ Ow .” She swatted his shoulder.

He hadn’t hurt her, really. More like startled her. “What was that for?”

“You’re still thinking too hard.”

I’ll show you hard.

She threaded her hand between them to wrap her fingers around him.

He pushed into her grip, a ragged sound escaping him as his body stirred back to life.

Just a little more time. More time to enjoy Caleb before he found out she was a selfish coward.

“On your back,” she murmured, lips brushing his ear. “It’s my turn to taste you.”

“Hold that thought.” Caleb rolled off her and jumped to his feet. “I gotta take care of this condom.”

He disappeared into the bathroom before reappearing moments later and practically doing a swan dive onto the bed.

Gia laughed as the mattress bounced beneath her.

If only she could freeze this moment. Keep her and Caleb in a bubble where time had no meaning.

Her gaze wandered over the beautiful, naked man spread out on the bed. Shoving her thoughts aside, she lifted on one elbow and wrapped her fingers around him.

His erection lengthened, grew hard at her touch. He hissed and arched, driving himself deeper into her fist.

“Someone recovered quickly,” she purred.

“I’ve got a gorgeous woman fondling my dick.”

She dipped her head. Dragged her lips up his length before taking him into her mouth.

Warm, salty precum coated her tongue. She relaxed her throat and hollowed out her cheeks, alternately sucking and rubbing her tongue against the underside of his crown.

Caleb’s hand brushed her hair. She tensed, waiting for him to take over.

“I love how you touch me. ”

She loved the way his voice sounded. Deep and raspy.

“Keep touching me, Gia. Everything you do feels good.”

Her heart swelled. Warmth flooded her body.

She redoubled her efforts, alternately licking and sucking him in as deeply as she could until his breaths grew ragged, and his hips thrust in an erratic pattern that told her he was nearing the edge of his control.

Caleb’s hands wrapped hers. “Sweetheart, if you don’t want to swallow me, you’d better stop.”

Like hell she would. He was hers. Even if she couldn’t keep him forever, she’d leave her mark.

She lifted her head. “Please. I want to.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

He released his hold on her with a groan.

It didn’t take her long to push him over the edge. He came with a shout, and she swallowed him down. Tasted him as he’d tasted her.

And, for the first time, took pleasure in the action.

“Damn.” Caleb hauled her to his lips for a gentle, lingering kiss that squeezed her heart.

She tasted both of them, together, on her tongue.

He shifted to his side. Pulled up the covers so they could slide beneath.

A wall of warm, hard flesh pressed against her back. One arm burrowed beneath her neck and the other draped her waist.

A soft kiss brushed her shoulder. “You’re amazing. Thank you.”

She let out a contented sigh. This was what it felt like to be worshipped by a man. To be safe.

Only she wasn’t safe. And neither was Caleb as long as he was with her.

Her post-sex high evaporated .

A heavy sigh gusted the back of her neck. “Babe, you’re thinking too hard again.”

She faced him. Stared into those beautiful brown eyes. Traced the lips that had caressed her, brought her pleasure.

Told her nothing but truth.

For the rest of her time with Caleb, she’d show him with her body and her heart what he meant to her. She’d do her best to encourage him to reconcile with his family.

So when she had to let him go, when he realized what a coward she was, a part of him might recognize her actions for what they were.

Love.

One week.
