"Because yo ass don't know how to talk to people, let alone police. You'll fuck around and go from victim to an inmate quick," I said laughing.

Even though what happened was self explanatory.

This was a private party, and masked men ran in shooting.

My security guards were licensed to carry and therefore did their jobs protecting our guests to the best of their abilities.

Sounds very polished, and to the point which was Kilo's lane and not Jugg's.

"Jugg I need you to go check on all our spots to make sure shit straight. Gather all the lieutenants and bring them up to speed," I said as Kilo straightened his tie and suit jacket.

I didn't have to tell him what I needed him to do because it was already understood.

Texting my driver to meet me around back, I said,

"I'm headed to the hospital to check on Journi and hopefully my baby decided to wait on me to make it there first."

"Nigga you really bout to be a father to somebody else baby," Jugg said.

"Don't start that shit again Jugg," Kilo said shaking his head.

"That somebody being Journi," I said because I would never acknowledge another nigga as the father to my child. It's not up for discussion and I thought I had made myself clear on that matter.

"Keep me updated with what's going on," Kilo said to me.

"Yea me too," Jugg said.

"Naw my baby only got one uncle," I said.

"That's fucked up," Jugg said as I ignored his ass.

"Joc make sure you get that stitched up," I said.

"I'm good boss." He said.

"Nigga yo big ass is seconds away from passing out from blood loss, you ain't good, and it wasn't a suggestion," I said stepping over Tommy's body on my way towards the door his ass had come through.

Making it outside, I hopped in my black truck as my driver sped off down the alley.

We turned on the road at the same time as ambulances, fire trucks and police cars all pulled into the plaza shopping center.

Now that I was alone with my thoughts I let my brain rack over who the fuck would have sent them rookie ass niggas into my shit.

My first thought was Cam's ass because of everything that went down in Atlanta.

However, I just didn't see him sending no square ass niggas to get at me.

Unless his plan was never to kill me but just to prove that he could get close to me.

He better pray for my aunt and Big Momma's sake that it wasn't his ass because if it was, his momma was gone have to bury her only child.

"We need a fuckin' doctor out here for my daughter now," my dad yelled as soon as we burst through the emergency room doors. The people in the waiting area turned to look at us like we'd lost our fuckin' minds.

"Calm down sir what seems to be the problem?" A nurse sitting behind the check in counter asked.

"Don't ask me no muthafuckin' questions. This a hospital ain't it? Do your fuckin' job," my dad barked out as he and Lyric helped me into a wheelchair.

"Calm down daddy, you freakin' out not gone help the situation," Lyric said instantly snapping into nurse mode.

"Fuck all that they need to come help my baby," he said sweating hard as hell like he was the one in pain.

He had been on edge since we left the party, driving like a bat out of hell.

And, damn near running everybody off the road.

Not to mention he didn't even properly park the car just now.

I opened my mouth to tell him to relax like Lyric just said but another contraction hit me causing me to double over in pain.

"Arghhh," I yelled out as the pain had me seeing stars.

"See my baby in fuckin' pain! Get yall asses over here and help her now," my dad yelled. His ass definitely wasn't coming to the back with me. He was clearly panicking and I was already in distress because it's too early for me to be in labor.

"Oh my God! Yes bring her in," the nurse said before picking up the phone saying, "We have a code three." Before I could even stop to ask what that shit meant, the double doors opened as three nurses, two men and a woman ran out towards me.

"Where was the patient shot?" One of the male nurses said taking the wheelchair handle from Lyric.

The other nurses were looking at me like they were trying to assess the damages.

I knew I looked like I'd just left the scene of a horror film.

I had blood all over me, my hair was a mess, and I looked like a damn raw stuffed turkey.

I had no idea what the fuck I was gone tell these people about what happened, but I couldn't focus on that right now because of how much pain I was in.

From the time we'd left the venue until we arrived at the hospital, my pain levels had skyrocketed from a five to a damn fifteen.

They had about two seconds to give me some medicine or I was gone knock my damn self out.

"She wasn't shot, we were in an accident and came straight here. She's approximately thirty weeks pregnant, and experiencing contractions that are ten minutes apart," Lyric said the lie rolling beautifully off her tongue.

"Ok," the nurse said as we headed towards the double doors.

"Family can wait in the waiting area," the female nurse said.

"I want my sister to come with me, she's a nurse," I said at the same time as my dad started raising hell.

"Y'all got me fucked up I'm going wherever my kids going," he said.

"Sir you're going to have to calm down or we'll call security," the female nurse said. The look my dad gave her had her ass taking a few steps backwards like a scared animal. I felt another sharp pain go through my side as I tried to breathe through the pain.

"Daddy wait out here for Khaizon. He should be here any minute. Then you guys can come to the back," I said through clenched teeth.

He looked at me like he wanted to argue, but thought better of it and turned around walking off headed towards the exit door.

The nurses wasted no time rolling me through the double doors and into a room.

"Lyric I need you to call Dr. Patel for me," I said because I wanted my doctor to be the one to deliver my baby if I was in active labor. I had planned to have my baby at her clinic but shit clearly my baby had other plans.

"We'll focus on that part later Journi, right now we need to make sure you and my niece ok," she said as the nurses helped me out of the wheelchair onto the bed.

"No I need Dr. Patel here with me now. She said that she would be here every step of the way," I yelled stubbornly trying to keep myself from freaking out even more than I already was. I was trying to process everything I had been through tonight including possibly going into fucking labor.

"I'll call her in a minute, calm down," she said as the female nurse came back into the room.

"I need you to change into this gown and I'll help you if-" the nurse was saying until Lyric cut her off.

"I'll do it. And we will need a warm towel as well as a hot blanket," Lyric said taking the gown from the nurse whose name tag said Rodgers.

"Ok well I'll go get that and let you get her changed," Nurse Rodgers said.

Soon as the door closed, Lyric went to work on my zipper.

It took the both of us damn near ten minutes to peel that dress off me to the point we had to tear it to get it off.

I was fat, sweating, and bloody, so the shit was stuck to me like a second skin.

In between our struggle, the nurse had returned with a towel and blanket.

Once we finally got the dress off of me, Lyric begin wiping me up which I was grateful for.

The warm towel felt soothing on my skin, and I finally felt myself starting to relax.

Although I was grateful to have the dress and blood off me, I was still a little sad about the fact that my dress was ruined.

Tonight was the first time in a long time that I had dressed up and truly felt beautiful when I'd looked in the mirror.

I didn't have time to dwell on my feelings towards the ruined dress though because another sharp pain hit me hard causing me to scream out in distress.

This time pressure started in my lower back and rolled around to my side.

It felt like a belt had been wrapped around my body and was being pulled extra tightly together.

I was in so much pain that I couldn't even feel Lyric's hands on my body.

It's like my brain didn't register nothing but the pain racking my body.

At this point I was starting to panic because this couldn't be normal.

With how badly I was hurting my baby had to be in distress.

Thinking about everything I've been through, my abortion, and miscarriage, and how badly my baby girl had fought to remain here, I cried harder than ever.

This time I wasn't crying because of the pain, I was crying for my baby.

I've felt her kicking, I've heard her heartbeat, I've bonded with her.

I couldn't lose her, not after fighting so hard to bring her into this world.

"You have to try and calm down Journi. This isn't good for the baby. Breathe in through your nose." Lyric said holding my hand while rubbing my back at the same time.

"I-I-," I was saying crying so hard I couldn't even get my words out.

"Damn let go, you squeezing the hell out of my hand. I need all my fingers in order to assist my patients tomorrow," she said snatching her hand away from me.

"Yeah Khi ass needs to hurry up and get here," she said laughing trying to get me to laugh.

"F-f-fuck you bitch," I said laughing through my tears as my breathing became erratic.
