"So you telling me a bitch answered his door and told you he wasn't there?" I said repeating what Lyric just told me.
"Yeah," she said.
"Ok so who broke the fight up?" I asked.
"What fight?" She said.
"You just told me another bitch answered your nigga door. Shit the fight would be you dragging that hoe out of the house," I said.
"Firstly that's not my nigga, well we haven't officially said we were together. And, had she given me any type of static I would have most definitely walked that bitch. However, she wasn't even giving that energy so that leads me to believe she doesn't know me or our situation.
She also comfortable as fuck answering his door so that must be his bitch," Lyric said.
I knew my sister, she could act nonchalant to the situation but I knew from her tone of voice that this was bothering her more than she cared to admit.
"I don't give a fuck bout none of that, that bitch and Kilo got us fucked up. I'm not pregnant now so I'm done letting bitches make it. We bout to go fuck both of they asses up," I said jumping up to go put my tennis shoes on.
Royalty was with Maria upstairs in the nursery so she would be fine for a few hours.
By the time I'd made it upstairs, put on some tennis shoes and came back down, Lyric was still sitting in the same spot I had left her in.
"Let's go," I said.
"Just drop it Journi, I'm not about to make a fool out of myself for a nigga who not even returning my phone calls. Like I said had that bitch opened the door with an attitude, it would have been a different story. It's just not in me to go clowning and embarrass myself," she said.
"It may not be in you, but it damn sure is in me so let's go! Cuz like I said they got you fucked up. We done letting muthafuckas slide cus they'll start ice skating, so let's go. At the very least Kilo ass owe you an explanation and we gone get it today," I said.
"You right about that one his ass does owe me an explanation especially after he went off on me about Mark!" Lyric said standing up.
"Exactly now let's go I'm driving," I said as we headed to the garage.
"Oh yeah I forgot about your push gift. I told you Khi was a sweetheart when he wanted to be," Lyric said.
"Shit it's definitely something you have to see to believe because his ass is certifiable," I said as I popped the locks on my truck. I had yet to drive it so I was excited as fuck despite the circumstances.
"Ohh this is nice as hell Journi," Lyric said as we got in and I started the car up.
"Thank you, I fuckin love it," I said as I opened the garage up and begin backing out just as Khaizon's blacked out Ford pickup truck pulled into the driveway.
Since his truck wasn't blocking me, I kept backing up until I noticed the doors open as Kilo and Jugg got out. Just the muthafucka we was looking for.
"Well ain't this convenient," I said.
"Journi," Lyric said grabbing my arm.
"Nope," I said snatching away from her as I put my truck in park and hopped out.
"Aye," Kilo said the second he spotted Lyric.
"Aye?" Lyric said. "Nigga I ain't heard from you in three days and that's all you got to say to me is some damn aye?"
"What's up?" Khaizon asked looking from me to Lyric. I bypassed him and walked right up to Kilo.
"Nigga you got my sister fucked all the way up," I said to him.
"What's going on?" Khaizon asked as he grabbed me and pulled me back.
"I ain't mean the shit like that," Kilo said to Lyric completely ignoring me.
"Oh? How you meant it?" She asked.
"Listen let me holla at you in the house, I'll explain everything," Kilo said.
"Naw nigga you can say it now! Let us know what's up! And while you at it call yo bitch and let her know I'm sliding that ass on sight," I said struggling to get out of the hold Khaizon had me in. The fact he wasn't just as mad as me, was pissing me off even more.
"I agree let me know what it is right now. Be a man and tell me whatever this is between us is over to my face. I don't give a fuck about the woman you got in your house contrary to what you might think. My issue is with you, you are the one who has me all the way fucked up.
You are the one who made it seem like we were on the same page in terms of respecting one another and replying back. You are the one who went from calling me just because and texting back in a timely manner to nothing at all. Not that bitch, you. She owes me nothing," Lyric said.
"What bitch?" Jugg asked.
"Listen calm yo ass down," Khaizon said to me.
"Me? Why ain't you just as fuckin' mad as I am?" I yelled at him.
"Because this ain't my business and yours either. Fuck I look like getting in another man business when it comes to his relationship. Long as no harm comes to Lyric she grown as hell. Now Zeus might feel differently, but that's between they asses," Khaizon said.
"Damn me and the girls gone miss you dawg. Don't worry ima make sure your funeral fly as fuck like with Doves and everything. It's gone be playa as fuck," Jugg said laughing.
"Listen let's cut the shit. Kilo what the fuck you did that's pissed my woman off?" Khaizon said.
"He got some bitch at his house and playing in my sister face," I yelled.
"Who?" Khaizon asked Kilo.
"Man Amber hit me up talking bout she was in a sticky situation. The nigga that she popped out a kid apparently be beating her ass and tryna touch on his own child ole sick ass nigga. I went got her and baby girl the other night and lucky for that nigga, he wasn't there.
I should have put they ass in a hotel room, but I didn't fully trust the nigga wouldn't come after them, so they both at my crib," Kilo said before walking up on Lyric.
"I didn't know how exactly to explain that shit to you that's why I was tryna wait until I got them squared away before I laid all my shit on the table," He said.
"Man I know you fuckin' lying!" Jugg said as all playfulness left his voice.
"Nigga you brought crackhead Amber in your shit? I thought you said the last time was the last time you was doing this with that hoe?" Khaizon said.
Crackhead Amber? What the fuck? This nigga playing my sister for a crackhead ass bitch?
Before I could open my mouth and say anything else I heard tires screeching as I looked up and saw at least five black trucks pulling into the driveway.
Men begin pouring in from everywhere, the cars, the fucking trees, everywhere.
"HANDS! LET ME SEE HANDS!" They shouted as I quickly put my hands in the air. One of the doors of the truck opened and some niggas in black suits got out and walked over to us.
"Khaizon McDaniels, you're under arrest for the murder of John Henderson." What the fuck!!
"It's in your best interest to help yourself by cooperating with us," the agent said to me. He and his partner had spent the last few minutes rotating between playing good cop bad cop threatening me with everything they could think about including football numbers in prison.
"I haven't been offered any donuts, juice or anything," I said calmly.
After these muthafuckas had swarmed my house like they was taking down Osama Bin Laden, they'd brought me to this interrogation room and been trying to rattle me ever since.
Unfortunately for them, I wasn't a nigga that folded under pressure, so instead of giving them the reaction that they had wanted, I'd remained calm this entire time.
The only thing that rattled me was hearing Journi crying as I was handcuffed, that shit made my blood boil.
I could guarantee that somebody was gone pay for every tear she'd shed.
"You think this is a fuckin' game boy?" Agent Gomez said walking back over and slamming his hands on the table.
"Did yall catch that Giants game? I'm so pissed at them boys," I said.
"You can act smug all you want but you only digging yourself into a deeper fucking hole," Agent Trevors said.
"Construction workers dig holes, and I for one think that's a good ass job," I said as Agent Trevors laughed.
"Looks like we have a comedian on our hands. That's a good trait to have in prison. Them boys in there like funny men," he said.
"Hmmm, I wouldn't consider myself a comedian, but I have laughed a few hoes out their panties if that counts," I said with my hand on my chin and a puzzled expression on my face.
"Well it's no hoes where you are going, but I've heard after years of close confinement, any hole becomes better than no hole at all," Agent Gomez said.
"You said that like you speaking from experience," I said. "Hey I don't give a fuck who you stick yo dick in that ain't my business."
"You son of a bitch," Agent Gomez said launching at me but Agent Trevors quickly grabbed him and held him back.
"Take a walk Gomez, you letting your emotions interfere with the interview," he said as Agent Gomez shot my ass a death stare before walking towards the exit door and tapping three times on it. The door was immediately buzzed open and he walked out.
"Let's cut the bullshit because no matter how much you deflect, this is not going away," Agent Trevors said as I saw him subtly glance at the clock.
I smirked because he knew like I knew that the arrest was bullshit and they had nothing to hold me on.
If they did, I would have been booked and processed immediately instead of brought to this interrogation room.
While they thought they was playing me, I was playing their asses, weeding out the weakest link.
Trevors bitch ass thought we could build a better rapport than the hotheaded Gomez which is exactly what I was counting on.
He was gone foolishly play all his cards and show me their hand prematurely; dumb ass nigga.
But, what better way to find out exactly what they got on me than straight from the horse's mouth.
"What's not going away is what I'm trying to figure out," I said.
"The fact that you killed John Henderson because you found out he was an informant," he said like that was his big reveal.
"An informant? Why would I care about that?"
"Because he was cooperating with us preparing to give us everything to take down your drug empire. After all, you were pretty pissed when we confiscated your drugs off him," he said as I almost burst out laughing in his face.
These dumb muthafuckas really thought they had tea but really had piss.
It's obvious that John didn't give up the name of the nigga drugs he was delivering before he died which was smart on his part.
And, most definitely the reason why his ass skipped town.
"You got the wrong guy if you looking for a drug Lord. I do however run a slew of very successful businesses which I'm sure you know about already," I said.
"Yeah on paper you do have legitimate businesses, it's the illegal ones that you think we don't know about but we do," he said as he opened a folder and slid a few pictures across the table towards me.
Looking at the pictures, I realized they were the same ones that Shaniya had already showed me when she'd hacked into their file database.
They had a few pictures of John talking to some nigga whose face isn't visible.
Then the photo of John and the two hoes I popped that night.
Finally, the photo with me, Kilo and Jugg walking out the hotel room.
While neither of their faces are visible, mine shows clear as day.
I'd been so preoccupied with trying to rush to get to Journi that I wasn't even thinking of avoiding cameras.
"Now if you don't know him explain this photo?" Agent Trevors said smugly thinking he'd finally tripped me up. I kept my emotions schooled as I said,
"This is the guy that's supposed to be an informant? He sure doesn't look like one to me. But, I don't personally know the guy, I did however go to that raggedy ass motel one night behind a bitch who swore to me she was at her sister house," I said.
"And explain why you was in his room," Trevors said.
"Shit that's the room the hoe looked like she walked into. He said she wasn't in there but I had to check for myself. My momma always said you can't turn a hoe into a housewife, I refused to listen because turns out she was right. That bitch was down at that motel sucking for a Happy Meal," I said.
"I'm being serious and you playing," Agent Trevors said.
"Playing? Who would play about something like that! I'm honestly hurt behind that shit," I said.
"You are wasting my time and I'm trying to help you. When I get up and walk out; your window to save yourself goes away," he said.
"What is it you want me to say? What questions can I answer when yall the ones out here playing Sherlock Holmes? You got all these photos and surveillance of this dude whoever he is. You captured every answer you need," I said as he clenched his jaw tight and looked at me with hardened eyes.
His body language said what his mouth didn't.
They ain't have shit, that's why they was grasping for straws.
Either somebody on their end fucked up the one job they had on surveillance.
Or, whoever killed the nigga knew he had eyes on him and still managed to get to his ass undetected.
Regardless the only thing they had was these photos and empty questions.
My guess was they focused solely on me because they could positively ID me.
Not to mention the information they was getting from somebody about me.
Shit that not even a muthafucka like Cam would know.
However, after my last visit to Atlanta and that interesting talk I had with Trey, I've learned that my biggest mistake was not giving Cam's ass enough credit.
Thinking he wasn't capable of something or wouldn't do it is clearly where I been fuckin' up at.
"Listen here," Agent Trevors was saying as the door buzzed open and my lawyer Stephen walked in.
"Sorry I'm late, I got held up cutting through all the bullshit red tape that was slapped on that frivolous arrest warrant," he said walking over to where I was. Instead of sitting down, he dropped some papers in front of Agent Trevors.
"Next time you want to come after my client with unprecedented bullshit, loop me in first," Stephen said.
"You're interrupting a federal investigation." Agent Gomez said walking back into the room.
"No, I'm ending an interrogation that should've ended twenty minutes ago. My client has answered your questions. If you have any physical evidence tying Mr. McDaniels to the murder of John Henderson, present it. If you don't, we're leaving."
"We're not finished." Agent Gomez said.
"You are unless you have something more than photographs of my client knowing the victim that was booked into a public hotel room," Stephen said as Agent Gomez and Trevors looked at each other knowing the game was over.
"Let's go," Stephen said to me as I adjusted my tie and stood up smiling at both agents as I followed Stephen out of the room.
Although this shit was pointless, it did tell me two things, one whoever killed John was damn good at covering their tracks, and two now that the FEDS had set their sights on me shit was about to get real.
