Chapter 65 Crystal
Crystal
“Hello?” I said through a sex-induced sleepy haze.
“Crystal, I need you.” Geneva’s voice came back at me.
“It’s not Charlie, it’s me, it’s Eric, it’s everything,” Geneva’s voice quaked, then she started to cry.
“I’ll be right there.”
I jumped out of bed and snatched up a pair of sweatpants that were lying across the bench at the foot of my bed.
“What’s happening?” Neville asked as he sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
“Geneva needs me,” I said as I pulled my T-shirt over my head.
“I’ll come too.”

Geneva was sitting outside her apartment house on the bench when we arrived. Neville walked over to her and bent down and gave her a tight hug and a kiss.
“Hey,” he mumbled, not knowing what else to say.
“What’s going on, girl?” Sitting down beside her, I threw my arm around her shoulder and listened intently as Geneva unfolded the whole sordid tale. I struggled to keep my face sympathetic, but honestly, there were times when I really just wanted to slap her arm and scream, “Stop your lying, girl!”
I couldn’t believe she’d been keeping all this from me. But then again, who was I to judge? Look at all that I’d been doing.
Neville and I exchanged uncomfortable glances.
Geneva fell into a fit of tears and I pulled her to me and cooed, “It’s going to be okay, girl. You’ll see, everything is going to be okay.”
The sound of a car’s motor caught my attention, and I looked up to see a dark blue Capri with tinted windows pulling up to the curb.
