Chapter 1 First Meeting
Sheng Yichuan was my nominal fiancé.
But we had only recently arranged to meet for the first time.
He kept saying he was busy and kept postponing.
Until that day.
He walked into the café where I worked part-time.
At first, I didn't recognize him.
Then he suddenly brought me up.
"Chen Songhe came looking for me."
"Who?" His friends teased. "Which little girlfriend is this?"
"Get lost. I wish she was just a girlfriend."
Sheng Yichuan looked irritated.
"It's that Country Girl my grandfather arranged for me years ago."
"No way! She's actually here?"
"Yeah. She's been asking to meet me over and over. So annoying."
"What does she want?"
"Isn't it obvious?" One of the guys answered. "A Country Girl who's never seen the world. Climbing up to the Sheng family is like her ancestors' grave spitting out green smoke. Of course she wants to hold on tight!"
Sheng Yichuan didn't deny it.
"So Yichuan, what are you going to do now?"
"I will never acknowledge this bullshit Marriage Agreement. A Country Girl? I wouldn't take her even if she was given to me for free."
"Looks like you already have a plan?"
"I do."
Sheng Yichuan winked mysteriously.
"I already agreed to meet her tomorrow. My brother will go instead."
